Re: [slim] [Announce] Squeezebox on iPad: SqueezePad 1.6.0 released
Hi Stefan Small request if possible. I noticed that the cover art gets cached only if u browse to the relevant album. So initially all albums appear with no cover art, unless u browse to them. Would it be possible to have a cache mechanism that would run on the background and cache cover art even prior to me browsing to an album? In that way i will always have cover art on my menus right from the start. Re: [slim] Thread on Sonos board
my 2 cents...I don't own Sonos but my friend does...money wasn't an issue. The main issue that kept me away from purchasing a Sonos is the luck of features and especially the ability to create clever mixes (see MusicIP or Genius). Having said that, there have been times that I wanted to throw my SC system out of the window and I will admit that there have been many occasions when I was so close in going to Sonos...If they supported MusicIP or Genius or something similar I would be very tempted. Re: [slim] iPeng Application 1.0 now on the App Store
i am experiencing crashes with 1.03 as well...haven't flushed my cache yet. I also noticed you changed the playlist view, with adding a vertical bar on the right hand side of the screen for quick browsing. I personally don't like this. It makes the screen busy and i don't think a quick browse bar is necessary. On the pluses, performance seems better than 1.0. Keep up the good work. -- panos_k75 ---- panos_k75's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=18149 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=55514 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

a background image could be used where the user is browsing artists/genres or even albums. this could make the interface a little more personal..just like the SBC. have sent u a pm about the playlist implementation. -- panos_k75 panos_k75's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=18149 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=55514 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] iPeng Application 1.0 now on the App Store
Can we have the option of a background image? Also are you planning to re-organise the current playlist view? If yes, why don't you implement it just like the ipod? i.e. press a button, the cover rotates and displays the current list of tracks? Much nicer in my eyes and removes the clutter. -- panos_k75 panos_k75's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=18149 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=55514 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] iPeng Application 1.0 now on the App Store
I always browse my music by Genre and then and never had any problems with the SBC. I also noticed that browsing the playlists looks very nice with artwork, artist and album information...wouldn't it possible to make the player queue look the same? or at least give us the option? I have many compilation albums and so looking at the queue it doesn't make much sense to me with just the artist and track info. -- panos_k75 ---- panos_k75's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=18149 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=55514 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] iPeng Application 1.0 now on the App Store
my comments: Very good first attempt. It needs to be polished a little though: 1. Browsing Genres>[genre]>All Albums makes iPeng complain that it can't connect to my server. 2. It would be nice if text was scrolling to display long album names/artists...etc 3. Not sure I like the graphics of the "now playing screen". Would prefer something similar to the Sonos remote. 4. I think the graphics need to be polished a little, especially on the playlist view. Long track names overlap with the vertical line, the delete icon doesnt seem to align with the horizontal lines, etc...just a little polishing 5. Would be nice if the playlist view displayed the cover art as well. Very good work! I hope this continues to develop and becomes even better. Apart from the functionality that everybody is asking for, a little on polish on the graphics would be a plush for me. Looking forward to your updates. Re: [slim] Dissapointed - 7.2.1
Player Statistics : Bedroom Help > Server & Network Health > Player Statistics The server is currently collecting performance statistics for this player. You may set warning thresholds for each measurement. Events which exceed this threshold will be logged to a log file. The log is stored at: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SqueezeCenter\Logs\perfmon.log Signal Strength This graph shows the strength of the wireless signal received by your player. Higher signal strength is better. The player reports signal strength while it is playing. < 10 :0 : 0% < 20 :0 : 0% < 30 :0 : 0% < 40 :0 : 0% < 50 :0 : 0% < 60 :2 : 0% < 70 : 74 : 11% # < 80 : 524 : 75% # < 90 : 100 : 14% ### < 100 :0 : 0% >=100 :0 : 0% max : 87.00 min : 58.00 avg : 72.995714 Warning Thresholds : Low High Buffer Fullness This graph shows the fill of the player's buffer. Higher buffer fullness is better. Note the buffer is only filled while the player is playing tracks. Squeezebox1 uses a small buffer and it is expected to stay full while playing. If this value drops to 0 it will result in audio dropouts. This is likely to be due to network problems. Squeezebox2/3 uses a large buffer. This drains to 0 at the end of each track and then refills for the next track. You should only be concerned if the buffer fill is not high for the majority of the time a track is playing. Playing remote streams can lead to low buffer fill as the player needs to wait for data from the remote server. This is not a cause for concern. < 10 : 50 : 11% # < 20 :7 : 2% < 30 :3 : 1% < 40 :4 : 1% < 50 :1 : 0% < 60 :0 : 0% < 70 :2 : 0% < 80 :5 : 1% < 90 :0 : 0% < 100 : 376 : 84% # >=100 :0 : 0% max : 99.999777 min : 0.00 avg : 85.727012 Warning Thresholds : Low High Control Connection This graph shows the number of messages queued up to send to the player over the control connection. A measurement is taken every time a new message is sent to the player. Values above 1-2 indicate potential network congestion or that the player has become disconnected. < 1 : 135 :100% ## < 2 :0 : 0% < 5 :0 : 0% < 10 :0 : 0% < 20 : 0 : 0% >=20 :0 : 0% max : 0.00 min : 0.00 avg : 0.00 -- panos_k75 panos_k75's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=18149 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=54187 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Dissapointed - 7.2.1
this is what i am getting: Performance Summary : Bedroom Please queue up several tracks to play on this player and start them playing. Then press the Reset link below to clear the statistics and update this display. Reset Summary Control Connection : OK Streaming Connection : OK Signal Strength: OK Buffer Fullness: Low Server Response Time : Occasional Poor Response Warnings The playback buffer for this player is occasionally falling lower than ideal. This is a Squeezebox2/3 and so the buffer fullness is expected to drop at the end of each track. You may see this warning if you are playing lots of short tracks. If you are hearing audio dropouts, please check your network signal strength. Your server response time is occasionally longer than desired. This may cause audio dropouts, especially on Slimp3 and Squeezebox1 players. It may be due to background load on your server or a SqueezeCenter task taking longer than normal -- panos_k75 panos_k75's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=18149 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=54187 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Dissapointed - 7.2.1
I tried all suggestions...Unfortunately no improvement...I disabled all installed plugins but the behavior is still the same...For instance, there is a noticeable lag between the moment I press play till the moment I hear sound on my duet. In more detail when I press play on the controller it displays that the corresponding song is being played straight away and the track timer starts counting, however I have no sound for the first 10 or so seconds. After this the track starts and the current track time on the controller resets back to 00:00 and starts counting again, this time in sync with the sound...I never had issues like this prior to my 7.2.1 upgrade. Nothing has been changed on my server configuration. -- panos_k75 panos_k75's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=18149 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=54187 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

I was running 7.2 and everything was fine...apart from the occasional hickups and crashes. Now upgraded to 7.2.1 and my system is completely unstable. The controller keeps lagging. I press pause and it takes 2-3 seconds for my duet to respond. On some flac files I am having audio drops which eventually are crashing the duet and the only way to resume service is by reloading it. Covers take ages to appear on controller. Unpleasant experience really. Very dissapointed especially as new software releases are meant to be upgrades.
