[Dx4win] CW RTTY
Can CW and RTTY co-exist peacefully on the same com port in DX4Win? I have tried and seem to have difficulty. I can get the CW to work fine on Com 2 but opening MMTTY window either gives me a Com 2 error or it receives fine but does not transmit. If I open MMTTY out of DX4Win it works fine as evidenced during the RU this weekend. -- Tnx es 73 Dick W7ZR www.w7zr.com From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Jan 11 03:05:23 2007 From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (D. [Dx4win] Import LOTW QSL file
Still having some difficulty getting what I want from the adif file from LOTW. 1. I start with a file containing a QSO that does not have a State indicated. 2. The file does not have an Upload Confirm flag. What I want to get from the LOTW file: 1. The State 2. The Confirm flag I have checked the LOTW adif file and state is indicated correctly. So if I import that file into the existing file the state and other stuff update fine if I set the duplicate handling to imported QSO replaces existing. This is great but it does not set the confirmed flag. So I run the LOTW file again and say Imported QSO sets upload confirmed flag. It sets the flag but then erases the state info. Either I am processing this incorrectly or we need more flexibility in importing fields into the data base. Paul may add this in a future version. If you use the New QSO over-writes existing you should get the extra data, but you might lose other info you logged with the QSO. Only the first option you tried will set the confirmed flag. The overwrites existing option is generic for ADIF files (i.e. importing from contest logging software), so in general you do NOT want this changing confirmation flags. 73 - Jim AD1C -- Jim Reisert AD1C, 7 Charlemont Court, North Chelmsford, MA 01863 USA +978-251-9933, [EMAIL PROTECTED], http://www.ad1c.us

[Dx4win] DX4WIN ICON
Try right clicking on the destop icon and go to properties. From there in the lower right select new icon and then go to dx4win folder and select the .ico file. A couple more questions!! After upgrading I now get the Events calendar popping up each time I open the program. Its great but can I stop it from opening??? Also I now get an error when I open up that says ie_Open-device already open What does that mean??? Also when fixing the missing ICON problem I discovered that DX4WIN is not listed in my PROGRAM LIST in Windows XP is there a reason??? And finally I have always wondered about this one! What is the difference in the Long Path and Reciprocal headings in the Sunset and Sunrise window??? I always thought that Long Path was the Reciprocal of the Heading! Tnx again Guys Gary K6JAJ
[Dx4win] WISH- Log write
I did set the backup to 1 but there must be some additional setting(s) required. I do not see that it is doing a write. In just playing around dxing is when I use writelog to be my logger. Otherwise I use contest program and then import those logs when it is all over On Thu, 3 Mar 2005 19:31:18 EST, [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Dick, While not quite what you're asking for, go to Preferences -- QSO and set the auto-backup to 1 minute. Whenever you modify your log in any way, a 60 second timer starts, and an auto-save will happen at 0 time. That appears to be the lowest valid number. Zero apparently turns off auto-saves, and it won't take fractions, e.g. 0.5. Unless you're operating a contest (so why would you be logging in DX4Win?), you won't lose many Qs. 73, Steve In a message dated 3/3/2005 6:21:31 P.M. I finally got around to making a few Qs with PSK31. Pretty cool. But, it's like pulling teeth. Stories I've heard make it sound much easier than what I'm experiencing. I would appreciate hearing any tips on using PSk31 with DX4WIN, including settings for calling CQ, SP, etc. It's gotta be easier than this. 73 and thanks in advance, Fred/NA2U CWMAN...I'D RATHER WORK CW!!!
