The check still hadn't arrived at his location as of the 24th. He doesn't use PayPal. Back and fourth emails were working fine last week. We had, at least, six overall amd stopped on June 19th. During this "no contact" period, I felt I had no choice but to put a stop payment on the check. I finally called him on the phone today. I didn't call earlier since I was very concerned that his health may have taken a turn for the worst and I didn't want to burden his wife with an additional problem if that were the case. So, bottom line, my apologies to Doug, K7CUU for me thinking the worst. I don't know what experience you have with US Mail, but ours has been that it can take WEEKS for mail to get to its destination, or it can arrive in a few days. USPS managed to lose our CA tax return that we sent Priority or Certified; last we heard after three weeks was that it was in Minnesota on its way from Santa Cruz, CA to Sacramento, CA. Going on the fourth week, we mailed a duplicate return. No check was included with either mailing. It's not at all uncommon for mail to take 4-5 days to get to its destination. And, as you may have heard, mail is handled both by humans and by machines. Both are well known to screw up. Further, June 19 is a Federal holiday, thus a mail holiday, so mailing it on Monday is like mailing it on Tuesday, and most mail doesn't move beyond the local post office until that night. Uh, I am K7CUU and a gentleman from New Jersey contacted me about purchasing a KX2 I listed for sale on this forum. I am of the impression we arrived at an acceptable price about a week ago and have the unit, plus a couple extras, all packaged up and ready to take to the post office. I would like to complete this transaction, but I haven’t heard from him for several days and have found nothing from him in my mail box. This post, below, is the first I have heard there may be something amiss. I believe the gentleman has my phone number(s) and welcome his call. QRZ.com indicates K7CUU is a quite elderly QRP fan who owns a KX2, according to you the ad says he is ill, and assuming you sent the check to his listed address the most you could logically assume is that his wife doesn't read his emails. I had several days of back and forth email communication prior to me mailing a check on June 19th. I included a photo of the check and envelope in an email on the 19th. After that; all email communication ended!! A follow up email the next day, again, yielded, no response. Tuesday, Wednesday and up to Thursday evening, nothing.
