Mark - Thanks for the feedback. I removed all the single files and left the zip file so others won't have the same issue of downloading corrupt individual files. you need to import the libraries first you put them into the same directory where your other libraries are ( i say it that way cuz i use linux and you use M$ i dunno where M$ puts stuff ) then all the file can be used from where you unzipped Mark's package those files dont need to be anywhere special HTH TomP tjtr33 On 06/17/2015 10:08 AM, Mark Wendt wrote: > I'm not even getting that far. Mark, no problem did you ever have a full screen snapshot of some program and find yourself click on _the_picture_ of a button ? :) BTDT The tip off was the background picture text was fuzzy and the overlaid schematic text was sharp and i do use same technique in a difernt way i make a large hi rez image of front and backsides of pcbs mirror one save them with an alpha channel t=so they are transparent bring both into a schematic capture and reverse engineer the pcb layout looking THRU the 2 images. Re: [Emc-users] KiCAD schematic Anilam Crusader M Conversion
Mark, I did an 'archive' of the main project from KiCAD and it created a zip file. I committed that zip file to github, so maybe you can try that and then open the project file?? Also, making sure you have the libraries will be key to seeing the components. I would try the AnilamToLinuxCNC-cache.lib if you get that far. As I mentioned to Joseph, I'm using a recent build on windows. However, the fact that Joseph is using a 2013 stable build and he opened the project is helpful. I would try putting everything in the same directory, KiCAD warns you to do that when you create a New Project, I believe. Hope you get it working. Re: [Emc-users] KiCAD schematic Anilam Crusader M Conversion
I'm new to KiCAD and learning how to get around it. There is a library file in the project directory called AnilamToLinuxCNC-cache.lib. I'm only guessing, but my hope would be that file has the library components in it for the project. I wonder if adding only that to your library folder would have worked vs. adding all the libraries. I was happy to include the other libraries so people could use them, just didn't think they had to be in there explicitly. Glad you got it open. BTW, I'm using Windows (ugh I know) and a recent non-stable build of KiCAD. The fact the stable opens the newer unstable is pretty good, I think. PS - I've been threatening my computer to dual install linux and windows so I can work on KiCAD, LinuxCNC, and LinuxCNC docs in linux on my main PC. Just haven't gotten round to it... The worry is that I fubar my main working machine... Re: [Emc-users] KiCAD schematic Anilam Crusader M Conversion
Tom, I can understand the confusion. I was emulating or trying to duplicate a very nice schematic I ran across that Jon Elson helped someone (sorry forgot their name) wire their Anilam Crusader M conversion to a PPC controller. In that example, they had taken parts of the original Anilam schematic and drawn in their changes and wiring. They did a cut/paste operation and what I have is a image (like *.png) of their work. It was very useful in validating my project, so I tried to emulate that and show where I wired into the existing wiring. I could put a note on it or something to clarify it. I was trying to save time of redrawing that part of the schematic, thought it was easier to cut/paste.
