There isn’t a permission, that’s why! I’d bounce IIS for a start on your CAS or

RE: OWA access issues after renaming user id

2002-07-17 Thread KKerr

Chad,

Thanks for you assistance. I try exporting her email account structure, made
the changes to the directory name and then import the account information
back before contacting the listserv. I did not delete her account so the
import did not work.

I just came up with a solution that I would like to share with everyone. I
went to IIS manager of the server that is hosting OWA and change the
directory security to Windows NT challenge/response. I am happy to say that
solve the problem.

Thanks again,

The only way to change it is to export her mail, delete the existing,
re-create, import her mail or tell her it's a feature so she never

Hello Everyone,

I have a user who just got married a few days ago. I changed her user
account information by renaming her user account as well as changing her
SMTP address and display name. Today she said that she can no longer access
her emails using outlook web access. After reviewing her email account
properties, I notice that her Directory Name was not renamed and is grayed
out. Does anyone no how to change the directory name or have a solution to
this problem?

Hello Everyone,

Has anyone ever have this problem..

One of our OWA servers is acting up keeps spiting out this error
whenever someone tries to logon.

"Failed to Connect to Microsoft Exchange Server, "

I've tryed the Microsoft Knowledge base, but the solutions mentioned on
the 2 articles that I found weren't helpfull.

The server is part of a WLBS.

Any Help or clues would be great, I'm able to get the Logon Screen it's
just when I try to authenticate myself on the Network Dialog box it
craps out.

Sounds like the Outlook client is being run from a Win9x/me pc, where the
password is NOT case sensitive. Via OWA (IIS) and WinNT/2k(/xp?), the
password IS case sensitive. If you can't figure out the correct case,
retyping the exact password into user manager for domains/ADU&C (and
replicating), or simply making the user change their password will usually
do the trick.

I have had 2 users where this happened. It was working find and then bingo,
no access. Definitely not an network account issue, checked all those. I
found out by accident that rebooting the Exchange server (hotfix thing)

RE: OWA Access

2001-12-11 Thread Diane Beckham

I have had a few users that have had this problem and the easiest way I
fixed the problem was to delete the user in Exchange and then create it
again. If you only use mailboxes, you will need to move her to a PST first
so you don't loose her mail and then delete and recreate the user.

RE: OWA Access

2001-12-11 Thread Miller Bonnie L.

Subject: OWA Access from Different Server

Hello

I am part of a WAN that has several bridgehead servers and about a
hundred Exchange 5.5 sp4 servers.

I am responsible for two of these servers that both email addresses on
our domain.

One of these servers has a direct internet connection so we are using it
for OWA.

Users who mailbox reside on that server have no problems at all
accessing OWA.

Users whose mailboxes are on the other server cannot access it at all.

They get Unable to get inbox - I know it is not an alias issue as we use
the full SMTP address.

I thought it was trust but we have a reciprocal trust relationship and I
can access all files on their domain and they can access all of mine.
We also use wins replication that seems to be working fine (no error
messages).

I am thinking I need a connector between the two servers. In looking at
the setups (that I inherited) we have site connectors to different
bridgehead servers.

Can anyone point me in the direction to go to learn how to set this up?

Could not find anything on Microsoft or in the archives.

Ordered a couple of books but would like to get a jump on this if
possible.

TIA

Jim
