Have you set DumpsterAlwaysOn? If not, perhaps it was deleted from a folder other than the deleted items folder. Another possibility is that they were deleted while the shift key was depressed. Perhaps as part of a large selection of items. -Bill On Tue, Jun 22, 2010 at 3:00 PM, Jim Dandy jda...@asmail.ucdavis.eduwrote: That doesn’t seem to do the trick. RE: Recover deleted items
I know of at least two mailboxes that are having this issue. As a test, I've deleted stuff from the Deleted Items folder. Send a message to myself, deleted first from the Inbox and then from the Deleted Items folder. I did not do Shift-Delete. My understanding is DumpsterAlwaysOn isn't required in this situation. Could it be that deleted messages aren't retained if you are over quota? Any help is appreciated. DumpsterAlwaysOn is a reg setting for client machines and affects Outlook behavior. Enable it, restart Outlook, then try to recover something from a folder other than Deleted Items. You should see the items that were shift+deleted. When they work remotely, there might be a rule to move the mail, and then it would be on the person's personal system. -Original Message- From: Callan, Chris [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, February 15, 2002 9:03 AM To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: RE: Recover Deleted Items The way we have this setup we have a phone number for our outside users to dial. Yes. You select the folder in question and select Tools, Recover Deleted Items. In other words, can a client access deleted items that are marked as such, and hidden if the reg entry is done after the hard delete?
