If you mean SP2 for Office 2000, there is no fix. You need to do an
uninstall and then reinstall Office. Then omit the SP2 upgrade.

open or run any attachment you want provided it's added to the list.

SUMMARY
Microsoft Outlook 2000 Service Release 1 (SR-1) provides an attachment
security feature that is designed to increase the security protection for
certain types of e-mail attachments. This feature provides explicit warning
language when attachments are opened, and you are required to save the
attachment to the file system before opening it. This can help you avoid
accidentally releasing viruses that hide in certain file types. 

Note : In previous versions of Outlook, this functionality was provided in
three separate patches: one for each version of Outlook. 



MORE INFORMATION
When you open attachments with file name extensions such as .exe, .bat,
.com, or .cmd, you receive the following warning message: 

Attachment Security Warning 

WARNING! 

The file may contain a virus that can be harmful to your computer. It is
important to be VERY certain that this file is safe before you open it. You
must save this file to disk before it can be opened. 

Filename: file name 
Type: file type 

To save the attachment, click Save to Disk. 
Caution : The attachment warning runs for all attachments with executable
file name extensions. It does not detect, or clean a virus from an infected
attachment. If you save a file that has a virus, and then run it from the
hard disk, your computer is still infected. Saving the file is simply an
extra precaution to take when considering the safety of the attached file.
You must still use an updated virus-scanning program to check the file for a
possible virus. 

Microsoft Office files, such as .doc, .xls, or .ppt, are not affected by
this patch, and behave just as they did before installing the patch. To
control macro behavior for Office documents, set the security level in the
individual Office program itself. 
To Modify the Behavior of the Attachment Security Warning 
WARNING : If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious
problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft
cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry

When you find out that it is, look closer at their profile, and email
editor.

I do not know where would I go to look at this.  The reason for the
questions is I have a co worker that does a read request on everything she
sends me.  so if I read her message while doing something else and don't
replay back to her she gets on my case so want to turn it off.

Try www.slipstick.com I recall an add on read receipt blocker.  You can also
add a column to you Inbox view for read receipt requested so at least you
know when someone requests one.

questions is I have a co worker that does a read request on everything she

in to the users mail box, and look at the sent items. That is your only
option.

You can not go backwards to see if there was a BCC on a message.  That
information is no longer with the message.

As email is received inbound, there are ways to check, but not
retroactively, to my knowledge.

Thanks for everyone's help.  I thought maybe it would be saved in the email
makes since that after  it leaves the exchange box it does not keep a record
on the email would make it to easy to know.  I know this was not an

If their mail server is 'off site' then they likely are not using MAPI
profiles and are using POP or IMAP to access email.  This does not allow for
'shared calendars' as .pst files can only be accessed one at a time.

However, teamfolders *might* be a solution.

Hi everybody
I hope some body can help me. I have a client who are using Olook 2000 some
of the users share their calendar with others after a while they lose the
their share and they have to go through the process of sharing again. Their
mail server is off site  I have no idea what mail server they are using.

Any hint or help will be greatly appreciated.

If their mail server is 'off site' then they likely are not using MAPI
profiles and are using POP or IMAP to access email.  This does not allow for
'shared calendars' as .pst files can only be accessed one at a time.

However, teamfolders *might* be a solution.
