Well, it's rather easy if you can live with a mozilla being installed in, let's say, ~/mozilla. If that's okay, download a .tar.gz (or even just the installer) from the mozilla site and install it. Just remember that it needs to be in your $PATH before /usr/bin! To do this, I've made myself a ~/bin dir and put ~/bin in my PATH. Now, ~/bin/mozilla is a link to ~/mozilla/mozilla. Easy enough for me :) Alexander Skwar -- How to quote: http://learn.to/quote (german) http://quote.6x.to (english) Homepage: http://www.iso-top.de | Jabber: [EMAIL PROTECTED] iso-top.de - Die günstige Art an Linux Distributionen zu kommen Uptime: 1 day 8 hours 2 minutes --=_tcob1.net-7227-1008635595-0001-2 Content-Type: text/plain; name="message.footer"; charset=iso-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline; filename="message.footer" X-Mime-Autoconverted: from 8bit to 7bit by courier 0.36.1 <-> Gateway Information. it has another added benefit as well, I have mozilla 0.9.4 on linux and 0.9.6+ on windows, they are pretty damn similiar.. and I really love cross platform consistancy... both work great. though I would like to upgrade to 0.9.6 on 8.1 without breaking anything.,.. but if its not possible, its not possible. I got curious one day and decided to do a couple of page with it and was pleasantly surprised at the code it output. Netscape 6.1 is sluggish on older systems so that is one thing to consider. -- daRcmaTTeR Registered Linux User 182496 Mandrake 8.1 - 9:05am up 46 min, 2 users, load average: 0.63, 0.71, 0.83 Want to buy your Pack or Services from MandrakeSoft? Re: [expert] WYSIWYG HTML editor for Linux?
Staroffice 5.2 does have an html editor. Try "File -> new -> HTML document" Personally, I consider Staroffice to be too big & heavy to simple HTML editing, but some folks like it. Bluefish is a good option, and it comes with 8.1 Personally, I use vi. Ric David Guntner wrote: > > Is there a WYSIWYG HTML editor for Linux? Something along the lines of > Frontpage? Have you ever looked at the HTML-output of this program? If you did and you know a little bit about HTML , you'd never recommend it to somebody. I made up some web pages by writing the code in Emacs and then I put the whole thing through Composer. It was all messed up afterwards. wobo -- <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Registered Linux User 228909 Powered By Mandrake Linux 8.1 - 9:28am up 8 days, 18:00, 3 users, load average: 0.02, 0.02, 0.00 Want to buy your Pack or Services from MandrakeSoft?
