dialupadmin is largely abandonware; it's been removed from the GIT repo

minimal, and interest in it even less so.

In dialup admin if a select accounting and run an accounting query, I can see

Doesn't the data for all locations come from the same place? Is there anything

Thank you.

I believe our NAS supports this and is working. If I go into the user it will
show they've been connected for days and shows and upload/download value.

The catch is the reporting. This data doesn't get updated into the statistics
until the user logs off.

I'm sure it's something specific with Dialup Admin since it's built from the
premise of a dialup ISP which will have typical log offs.

I was just curious if there is a config or change to make to Dialup Admin that
would update statistics while an account is still logged on but not duplicate
data.

Serge.

Probably nothing.

Try adding reply item Acct-Interim-Interval := 300 to a test user
(in radreply table, if you're using database backend), login, do stuff
that uses bandwidth for 6 minutes or so, and check:
- whether the NAS sends acct interim update (easiest if you can run FR
in debug mode)
- whether the acct entry is updated
- whether dialup admin correctly displays the updated acct record

Re: Dialup Admin

2011-09-19 Thread Stefan Winter
Hi,

radiusd -X is of no use in debugging dialup admin. It's a PHP tool
running on a web server, whereas FreeRADIUS' radiusd is a stand-alone
process doing RADIUS.

Their only interface is that FreeRADIUS writes into a DB, and dialup
admin reads data from that same DB; the two sides of it use a common
schema. You need to configure both sides regarding database hostname,
username, password. Setting it in raddb/* is NOT doing any good.

So, if your dialup admin throws an error - look at the web server's
error log. It will help you much more.

Greetings,

Stefan Winter

Re: Dialup Admin and HTTP Authentication

2010-11-30 Thread mikal

OK, so to get this working I modified the Dialup Admin functions.php3 file to
use $_SERVER instead of $HTTP_SERVER_VARS and to use REMOTE_USER instead
of PHP_AUTH_USER.  PHP_AUTH_USER wasn't being populated, but REMOTE_USER
was so I just used that. Not sure if that's good, bad or indifferent, but
it does work.

I don't know if the dialup_admin code has been changed in recent
versions of FreeRADIUS or not, but you might want to paste the code in
question (five lines previous, and five lines following) in the
offending file.

Also, posting what you attempted to enter, and what your web server log

This isn't a FreeRADIUS problem fwiw. It is a problem with your setup.
I'm not trying to be ignorant, I'm just attempting to get that out of

Re: Dialup admin questions

2008-10-10 Thread tnt
Does it make it sense to use dialup admin for administration if the
freeRADIUS server uses the active directory for authentification?

Not a lot. You won't be able to do any user administration (add users,
change passwords,...)

Because I have the following errors in the interface:

Warning: asort() expects parameter 1 to be array, null given in
/usr/share/freeradius-dialupadmin/htdocs/accounting.php3 on line 47

How should I fix them?

It's looking for the accounting database. Check your sql.conf settings.

Hey Jaxx,

I believe you may find daloRADIUS very productive. It's actively developed,
rather stable and provides efficient and vast management control over a
FreeRADIUS
deployment.

Quoting the Sourceforge description:
daloRADIUS is an advanced RADIUS web management application aimed at
managing hotspots and general-purpose ISP deployments. It features user
management, graphical reporting, accounting, a billing engine and integrates
with GoogleMaps for geo-locating.

 desired, and doesn't appear to be keeping up with the rest of the FreeRadius

 PHP errors on some of the interface pages.
 ** Warning: mktime() expects parameter 1 to be long, string given in

 Does anyone still use this interface with the current 2.0.3 ?
 What other methods do you use to allow non-SQL savvy administrative folks
 to add and remove valid usernames for authentication?

 Basically, this web interface is the last thing standing in my way of
 fully implementing the newer version of FreeRadius (needed to move to
 different hardware, supporting a captive portal device on a Wifi network)

resolveu.(en-US) Hi, Marcos,I saw this problem a time ago,
I delete the default in ID and replace Date to IncidentDate, appers to work
fine. I was making some tests with the freeradius 2 install, and found that the
creation schema for the badusers table for dialupadmin (in the
/dialup_admin/sql/mysql folder) has 2 problems:  # # Table
structure for table 'badusers' # CREATE TABLE badusers ( id
int(10) DEFAULT '0' NOT NULL auto_increment,   UserName varchar(30),
IncidentDate datetime DEFAULT '-00-00 00:00:00' NOT NULL, Reason
varchar(200), Admin varchar(30) DEFAULT '-', PRIMARY KEY (id), KEY UserName (UserName), KEY Date (Date) ); The
first is in the 'id' creation line. Starting with version 4.11 (I think its
this version), MySQL does not accept having a default value when you use
auto_increment. So, id int(10) NOT NULL auto_increment would be
the correct entry. The second problem is in the last line. There is a
reference to 'Date' beeing used as key, but the 'Date' was not created.
There is no reference creating it. Checking version 1.1.7, the line was
 Date datetime DEFAULT '-00-00 00:00:00' NOT NULL,. Now,
was it removed because it's no longer used, or was it removed by accident,
ir should it be renamed to the IncidentDate field? I guess it
would be the last option Thanks, Roberto

Dialupadmin will only show you what the database is telling it (unless
you have a nas supporting the aaa-session-mib in which case it can first
query the nas for the online users list). You can enable sql debug to
see the sql queries run.

Why not just use the nas table. In the cvs version of dialupadmin
there's a file called lib/sql/nas_list.php3
It will read the nas table and get the nas list. You could try changing
that one if it suits your needs.

Basically instead of reading the text file and cycling through them to add
the breakdown of NAS's I want to use something like

select DISTINCT NASIPAddress
from radacct

add them to an array and use the php gethostbyaddr() function to retrieve
the true hostname to sort them by

I don't need any of the snmp or NAS type or number of lines left as my
upstream does not allow me to connect to verify the information anyway .

This should just be a quick change for someone more talented than I to
remove the existing loop and replace it with the relevant sql loop instead.

Anyone ?

Whilst this is a good example it still doesn't suit my purpose. It requires
someone to constantly update the list for it to be effective. This is not to
be confused with the clients.

I have multiple roaming numbers, therefore if a customer is travelling
around and dials in at different locations I will receive a diff NASIP from
that local POP. As this information is provided in the account start/stop
and update packets then why enter them manually. Just drill through the
existing radacct table filtering on no stop time to see a list of active
NAS's and display them as I wanted.

No further updating the separate table.

Both Owen's code and mine should have the same effect, however I've

And I like to keep my HTML and PHP blocks separate as much as

I am slowly getting around this interface and notice many things that could
be improved upon but I'm lacking in the coding department.

For example the user_finger.php page, this does a nice job once you have
manually entered all of the pops into the separate naslist file but can
become a royal pain to maintain.

If someone could rewrite the code to extract the users online from the
raddact table and simply group them by the independent nas's this would be a
far simpler method. As you added additional pops to your range nothing to
add/remove in the code, it simply regenerates as people log in from that
pool.

If you are using sql to keep radius client info then you don't need to
do any extra work, since you already have your clients added in the
table for freeradius to function correctly. What you are suggesting
isn't a lot of work. The idea was to have more information than just the
ip of the nas server though (like description, ports available). In any
case it could be added as a configuration option

I have done a very similar thing with the failed logins page. Have the sql
query dumping failed logins into the postauth table from the radius process
and then have dialup admin failed logins script running an sql query against
that table instead. Alas my coding is not that good so I'm not getting all
records just the last one. Again help would be needed for me to finish this.

It's a nice thought.

Anyone up to the task to assist in this matter

I don't have an environment to test this, and, I'm no PHP expert,
but, I've got

some similar stuff working, and, I suspect that the changes below
might work for you...

You can't include PHP variables in HTML text outside of the ? ? tags
and expect them to be interpolated. Generally, it's just easier to
use PHP

 We are currently load testing this for stability and will be rolling it into

 But the configuration information like range-start etc. is still
 stored in the radiusd.conf. My idea was to put these configuration
 information for each ippool into the mysql-db.

 Some background information for better understanding :) My task is to
 migrate from MS-IAS to freeradius. Thus people are used to do

 administration tasks should be integrated within a GUI. Putting

Dialup_admin works fine for me. It does appear to be a PHP problem. Look
at your apache logs and see what errors you are getting if any. You might
want to check the error_reporting setting in your php.ini, make sure it
is set to E_ALL so you can see what errors are occuring. If this is not a
production box you might even want to change display_errors to On.

This should give you a couple more hints on where to go next.

Dialup_admin works fine for me. It does appear to be a PHP problem.
Look at your apache logs and see what errors you are getting if any. You
might want to check the error_reporting setting in your php.ini, make
sure it is set to E_ALL so you can see what errors are occuring. If this
is not a production box you might even want to change display_errors to
On.

This should give you a couple more hints on where to go next.

PHP 5.0.5-2.1
Freeradius 1.1.0

I've also followed the instructions for the dialup-admin, and have run
into a problem. When I view servername.com/dialup-admin, I can see the

Hi,
 OK - I think I figured out my problem, although not sure exactly which
 correction I did fixed it. However, I am still getting the MySQL Debug
 output and was wondering how to get rid of it:

 DEBUG(SQL,MYSQL DRIVER): Query: SELECT groupname FROM usergroup WHERE
 username = 'srmiller';
 DEBUG(SQL,MYSQL DRIVER): Query Result:

um, debugging is enabled by default. it helps fix things for the new
installers. to 'shut it up' you simply edit the admin.conf in the conf/
directorylook for the obvious line:

sql_debug: true

and comment it out

Hi,

I searched the archives briefly, but I wasn't sure how to even phrase this

before checking username. This sends the MAC as Username and a

Dialup Admin will not accept usernames with dashes in them. Every time I
try to edit a user like 00-0E-35-A8-25-9F, it changes the name to
000E35A8259F which of course does not exist. Anyone know of a quick fix
for this? If not, I will send some patches for this and a few other problems

there is the possibility of a fix existing.

See conf/config.php3 and preg_replace on the $login variable. Though in the

RE: DialUp Admin And Crypt Passwords

2005-09-04 Thread Geoffrey Cauchi
Hi

Further to my previous post, I managed to get around this problem

By default, md5 passwords are generated without the key appended. To solve:
Change the file /usr/local/dialup_admin/lib/crypt/md5.php3 from

?php
function da_encrypt($passwd)
{
return md5($passwd);
}
?

with the following

?php
function da_encrypt($passwd)
{
$salt = NULL;
for ($i = 0; $i  8; $i++)
{
$salt .=
substr('0123456789abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ',
rand(0,61), 1);
}
$salt = '$1$'.$salt.'$';
return crypt($passwd, $salt);
}
?

I hope this helps someone else :-)

Subject: DialUp Admin And Crypt Passwords

Hi

I got the Freeradius version 1.0.4 setup with MySql. It is all working
fine. However, when creating users through the dialup admin, the password
is stored in the database without the salt key for md5, and this is causing
the users' access request to be rejected. If the password is created
through the unix passwd utility and then updated in the sql database, that
user can authenticate successfully.

Has anyone came across this problem?

Thanks for your help

You have to insert a user when creating a list.
Should be fixed in CVS version ..

The disconnect facility will work only for cisco routers using the SNMP AAA
session MIB (if that is available and configured) or telnet (if that is
configured). Patches are always welcome for other vendors.

Re: Dialup Admin, general questions [customization]

2005-03-04 Thread Nick Bright
Thanks for the reply, some of this I figured out, and some I have more
questions on. . . comments below.

  additional documentation besides the README file? I see nothing in
  /usr/share/docs/freeradius about it. Also, I have a few questions that
  may or may not make sense:

 dialup_admin includes a doc folder, which contains a HOWTO file. It should be
 listed in the help page. admin.conf also includes *A LOT* of comments about
 each
 directive.

I'm blind or something, didn't see it before, I will read through it.

 Also, try using the latest cvs version of dialupadmin

Is it much different than the version from the latest distribution
package?

  1) When adding a user, I'm prompted for all the radius attributes for
  each user. Isn't this what radgroupreply is for? If I leave them blank,
  it puts it into radreply anyways.

 Puts what exactly?

The stuff from user_edit.attrs :) Got this one figured out. . . Just
comment out what you don't want to show up.

   I want to use radgroupreply for
  everyone that doesn't have custom radius replys (which will be virtually
  no one) to save database space. How can I do that?

 You create groups. You then specify the group the user will belong to when
 creating him.

Ok, I see where to create them (I didn't before, blind again I guess),
but how does this correspond to things I've got in radgroupcheck? When I
try to add a new user, not all of my groups from radgroupcheck show up.

The custom radius replies only show up when those items are uncommented
in user_edit.attrs, however there is a PHP error if that whole file is
commented out.

Answer to my own question:

The group must already have a user assigned to show up in the show
groups or new user pages. However, you can type in the group name and
directly edit the group, to add the fist user. Then it shows up
everywhere it should.

By disabling everything but Simultanious-Use from user_edit.attrs, I
got resolved the problem of putting all the useless attributes into SQL
when they aren't necessary, oddly if I leave it blank, it doesn't insert
a row into radcheck (which is perfectly fine) - though the other things
in user_edit.attrs were inserting rows even when blank. Perhaps it
depends on the attribute.

  2) User Profiles, we do 'unlimited' dialup, but everything in here is
  talking about 4 hours per day and 20 hours per week?? I don't even
  see where to change those settings at.

 See at the end of admin.conf. Currently unlimited counters are not supported
 in
 dialupadmin (yet).

admin.conf says for The value should be in seconds or none for nothing
so I'll try none out and see how it works.

dink, dink, dink

Seems to work well.

  3) I can't edit anything in NAS Administration. I presume I should be
  able to add/change/remove NAS units from here? When I click a unit, the
  info comes up, but it is read only. I can DELETE the NAS, but not add
  new ones or change existing information. This section just generally
  doesn't work right.

 Enable sql debug to see exactly what's happening. What's the error message?

Well, I wasn't looking at it in depth enough. I can't change the IP
address, but I /can/ change anything else. However, I still can't *add*
a new NAS. Am I missing something, or is the function not there?

  4) I've got multiple realms loggin in to one NAS unit, I notice that in
  the statistics, there is no differentiation between realms. Can I make
  that happen? One realm is NULL @psctelcom.net and the other is
  @terraworld.net

 Most probably patches will be needed.

Well I'll just have to see what I can do to fix that or get around it.

  5) online users: I'm using a usrhiper, and max40xx for NAS units. I
  notice only cisco is supported? I set my finger_type in nastlist.conf to
  database for both NAS units, since it said only cisco is supported.
  However, snmp_finger would be better if it can be made to work. Can it?

 No. Patches are welcome. You can set the online users page to just use
 radacct
 directly without querying the nas first.

In the docs folder it mentions that cisco and lucent are support.
What does it mean by Lucent? Lucent makes a lot of gear, Portmasters,
and Maxes among other things. I see specific mention of MAX 3000, so I'm
going to try it with my 40xx's and see what happens.

I'll also see about writing a patch to support usrhiper, though I am not
very confident in my ability to do so - in otherwords, it might not
happen ;)

  6) Find User function doesn't work. At all - it returns no results for
  all searches. what's up with that?

 Again, enable sql_debug.

Find User doesn't search by the user name, which is what I was trying
to do. That would make a much more sensable default (or even an

You need to run tot_stats for totacct, monthly_tot_stats for mtotacct and

In my dialup admin in user info I can see fields for
Name, Mail, Department, Home Phone, Work Phone Mobile Phone and Home

I can make changes in all of them except Home Address. I loaded the userinfo

a tweak?

I worked on .../dialup_admin/htdocs/user_info.php3 enough to let me now
input the address
data but it errors with unable to update the userinfo table.

Can someone point me to the exact file that needs tweaked.
Thanks in advance.

 You 're probably using spaces in the max results number. If

 not numeric, it will be set automatically to 10. It works
just fine here.

Nope no spaces in the max result,
Appearntly it is failing this test in find.php3 in the lib folder:
$link = @da_sql_pconnect($config);
if ($link){
 $search = da_sql_escape_string($search);

What makes $link true?
This is a guess, but when da_sql_pconnect is being called because of the @
it's not throwing out it's error, thus causing da_sql_pconnect to return
false, making $link false :)
it's probably no the best idea to use is_int on a numeric response to a
hidden call either..
Yeah Kostas posted that I was using an old version and the newest version
used is_numeric, if thats the case then an old version is being distributed
with FR 1.0.1 because that is all I have downloaded and thats what I got.

group and then save it, DA says I have no groups. But then I look in the
database and the info I just put in is there. Is this a bug in DA? If so
is
there a way around it?

 example, I have two groups, one called Dynamic and the other called Monthly.
 The Dynamic group is allotted 2 hours per day and the Monthly group has no
 daily limit restrictions but a total of 60 hrs per month. Which means, I
 would like the Monthly group user's Subscription Analysis to reflect a non
 Daily Limit restriction. At the moment both groups reflect the Dynamic
 group's settings, i.e. a Daily Limit description (2 hours per day) meant
 only for the Dynamic group still showing for the Monthly group. How can I
 adjust Dialup Admin's admin.conf to make the appropriate changes?

The
counter_default_daily: 14400
counter_default_weekly: 72000
counter_default_monthly: none

entries in admin.conf are used only to set the default values for the
corresponding counters if no values were found in the user/group settings. Check
conf/sql.attrmap in dialupadmin and set Max-{Daily,Monthly}-Session to your
corresponding attributes in sql.
Enable sql_debug to see what's going on exactly. Things should work after that.

We had the same type of problem as well. We had to add the following to our php.conf file (located at /etc/httpd/conf.d/php.conf on our RH9 system):
Files *.php3
 SetOutputFilter PHP
 SetInputFilter PHP
 LimitRequestBody 524288/Files
Then restarted apache and it would load the php3 files that dialupadmin uses. Hope this helps.
 Recently I download the Dialup-admin and I trying to use it. But when I open the first page, the column in the left it has an error in the top, the error is this: Fatal error: Call to unsupported or undefined function import_request_variables() in ../conf/config.php3 on line 8. I try with apache2 also, but I have php4 installed in it, and when it try to open the menu, It try to download the buttons.php3!

Hi, thanks for your reply! You have this error: Fatal error: Call to unsupported or undefined function import_request_variables() in ../conf/config.php3 on line 8, and you solve this with that apache entry??

I continue with this error and I have everything installed, mysql, freeradius.. I have to place the dialup_admin in some specific directory??
Because I already place it in /usr/loca/dialup_admin , /var/www/dialup_admin and in the directory where my freeradius is installed!

I don't know what else I can do...

Thanks!

 AddType application/x-tar .tgz AddType image/bmp .bmp

And I put this

AddType application/x-httpd-php .php .php3 .phtml AddType application/x-httpd-php-source .phps
 AddType application/x-tar .tgz AddType image/bmp .bmp
It is very funny because I uncomment the php3 lines in my apache, and when I restart it I receive A LOT of errors!

 subtract a $days_back value of 35 or 90 from the current day of the

 month, so the date passed to mysql is not formatted correctly.

 $back_days = 90;

 $date = POSIX::strftime(%Y-%m-%d %T,$sec,$min,$hour,($mday -
 $back_days),$mon,$year,$wday,$yday,$isdst);
 print $date\n;

Hmm, let's see:

$back_days = 90;

1:33am  /src/cvs/radiusd/dialup_admin/bin # date +%Y-%m-%d
2004-07-29
1:33am  /src/cvs/radiusd/dialup_admin/bin # ./clean_radacct

So it works correctly, that's what strftime is supposed to do anyway and it
seems to be handling it just fine.

 To fix, use unix time or Date::Calc

 $back_days = 90;
 $secs = (time()-($back_days*86400));

 $date = POSIX::strftime(%Y-%m-%d %T,localtime($secs));
 print Removing sessions with Stop Time  $date\n;

 I tried it and no matter what username and password I put in it just goes
 back to the login page.

 I did configure pp.php to point to my database with the correct username
and
 password and database name.

 Any ideas?

You are actually describing the functionality of dialupadmin? Why are you asking
for a replacement instead of just adding this capability to dialupadmin?

Anyway, after i 've finished with my security audit of dialupadmin i 'll add
that functionality. If you care you can use it.

Anyone know how to get dialup_admin to check a poptop NAS to see if users
are still connected or not. If a user disconnects by unplugging his wireless
card or by loosing signal to the wireless node they remain connected even
though there pc has thrown them out. This causes multiple connections and
long connection durations with no bandwidth info. Perhaps there is a way to
check every hour or so if the user is connected or not?

 Thats great!!!

 Now just to add some functionality for a per month basis and bandwidth
usage
 info.

 My users are charged on usage not time.

  Ok no problem

  Go to login2.php
  Commet line 32
  // $passwd = da_encrypt($passwd,$enc_passwd);

  If this not work try this
  Commet line 31, and 32

  // $passwd = $FF_valPassword;
  // $passwd = da_encrypt($passwd,$enc_passwd);

  And change line 34
  From
  if (!strcmp($passwd,$enc_passwd)){
  To
  if (!strcmp($FF_valPassword,$enc_passwd)){

  That's all

back to the login page.

I did configure pp.php to point to my database with the correct
 username
   and
password and database name.

Any ideas?

2004-07-26 Thread Barry Murphy
My problem is the poptop pptp server (with debian's ppp) is acting as the
NAS server for my wireless clients, so there is no IOS to update. Not many
people tend to be using pptp with radius and can answer this question.

Hi Barry,

Can you tell me how would you like to check if users are still on-line?
Namely, I have similar situation (dbian woody) in which ppp hangs so it
looks like user is still on-line but it is not.

Regards,

Ivo.
