Re: [Freevo-users] Re: pygame 1.5.6 and freevo dont seem to mix
Hi, I dont have this font. But since its not part of the runtime and the binary runtime works where the gentoo specific one does not I had discounted this. I found a font cld arielbd.ttf renamed it and dropped it in. I dont know if this should work, but it didnt. Other than that, if someone can send me it off list or tell me where to get it I'll give it a try. Although I'd think it should work without as Dischi says. I would like to know if it's possible to have a progressive scan output on tv ? Sorry, but generally, no. To run progressive scan (non-interlaced) video on a standard tv is not possible. It is a limitation of the old tv-tech, and can thus not be fixed just by putting in a modified signal. Computer monitors, and in most cases everything that has a VGA or DVI connector (projectors, flatpanels, plasma, etc.), support full frame draw. Re: [Freevo-users] Sigma Designs, Inc. REALmagic Hollywood Plus DVDDecoder
There are several howtos however, with pre4 runtime, all you need to do is change the output to dxr3 in the freevo.conf file, if I am correct. That isn't including the kernel support you need to do. Do a google search for that, or follow the link in the freevo docs. If that doesn't work for you, I will try to help more. [Freevo-users] digital audio with via onboard sound?
Thought I'd ask here - because the mini-itx boards use via audio, someone might have researched this already, or even tried something. My freevo system, mostly used to play back preencoded media, is based on a microatx motherboard that has integrated via audio. To date, I've been using the analog output from an SB Audigy card, and I've never tried the via sound - though i know the drivers at least load. My motherboard - Biostar M7VIG-Pro - has an undocumented s/pdif header. I got to thinking about that last night, and discovered that the M7VIG-D board has it *documented, and that there's a dongle available for the board with optical and coaxial output. And furthermore, that NewEgg has said dongle offered at $8usd with free shipping and a free $6 translucent yellow Biostar pen. Clutching my already prized translucent yellow Biostar pen in my hands, I pecked out some orders, and expect my dongle and a cheap toslink cable off ebay to arrive some time this week. And another pen. Has anybody tried using the digital-out of some of the miniitx C3 boards? Should be the same setup as my board. I can't find much information about this at all. Also, more importantly, is it possible to simply transmit an AC3 stream through the digital output of the via audio system? and, how? I'm already using alsa for pretty much everything. Thanks. - eric pgp0.pgp Description: PGP signature

Re: [Freevo-users] Sigma Designs,Inc. REALmagic Hollywood Plus DVD Decoder
Ok, I got it working (sort of) but the TV screen is in shades of green. I fooled around with the module options when loading em8300 and such but still nothing. Any suggestions? Stefan Strandberg wrote: There are several howtos however, with pre4 runtime, all you need to do is change the output to dxr3 in the freevo.conf file, if I am correct. That isn't including the kernel support you need to do. Do a google search for that, or follow the link in the freevo docs. If that doesn't work for you, I will try to help more. I'm at work right now so I can't do too much. -stefan Justin Wetherell wrote: Anyone get this working? [Freevo-users] nVidia problems!! XF86Config file or something else is keeping me froma working FREEVO
I've got a nVidia GeForce4 MX440-SE, which is supposed to work fine w/ Freevo and TV. The driver is loaded, but whenever I start with this command: startx -- :0 -screen Screen_tvout800 vt7 It comes back with (among other things): * (EE) NVIDIA(0): No modes remaining for display device TV-0(EE) NVIDIA(0): *** Aborting ***(EE) Screen(s) found, but none have a usable configuration. Fatal server error:no screens found * I'm running Redhat 9, and I'm using Freevo 1.3.2 PLEASE - If you know anything about this driver, etc., please lemme know what I can do to get this working! Here's the pertinent info from my XF86Config file. There's other stuff, but I *think* this is the relevant stuff. * # XFree86 4 configuration created by redhat-config-xfree86 Section "Monitor" Identifier "Monitor0" VendorName "Monitor Vendor" ModelName "Generic Monitor, 1280x1024 @ 60 Hz" HorizSync 31.5 - 64.3 VertRefresh 50.0 - 70.0 Option "dpms"EndSection Section "Monitor" Identifier "TV" HorizSync 30-50 VertRefresh 60 EndSection Section "Device" Identifier "videocard0" Driver "nvidia" VendorName "Videocard vendor" BoardName "NVIDIA GeForce 4 (generic)"EndSection Section "Screen" Identifier "Screen0" Device "videocard0" Monitor "Monitor0" DefaultDepth 24 SubSection "Display" Depth 16 Modes "800x600" "640x480" EndSubSection SubSection "Display" Depth 24 Modes "800x600" "640x480" EndSubSectionEndSection Section "Screen" Identifier "Screen_tvout800" Device "videocard0" Monitor "TV" DefaultDepth 24 Option "TVStandard" "NTSC" Option "ConnectedMonitor" "TV" Option "NoLogo" "on" Option "TVOutFormat" "SVIDEO" Subsection "Display" Depth 24 Modes "800x600" ViewPort 0 0 EndSubsection EndSection *
