Anyone else have a failed Wall Street hinge repair?
Less than 3 weeks ago I got my Wall Street PB back from PBParts with its hinge replaced with their own steel hinges. At first, it seemed odd that when I opened the PB the hinge was so tight that the whole PB lifted off the desk. Then there was the creaking as I opened it and a feeling of more and more play in the screen position (I use it with a VGA monitor plugged into the back so I need the screen to stay up at about a 45-degree angle so that I can see over the screen easily). Looking into the back of my PB with the cover closed I could see 2 small chips of material about 1/4 by 1/8 that were sticking out, removed them, photographed them, and send all this to PBPart yesterday via e-mail. Apple CD Audio Player?
Hi, Being new to OS 9 and using Jaguar exclusively I have a question that I hope will not sound silly. I want my cd to play with Apple CD Audio Player instead of iTunes. Every time I double click on the cd, iTunes starts. Apple CD Audio player shows my song list, but does not play any of the songs. I get a message that The Apple CD-Rom, DVD-Ram drive is not responding. Could the problem be that I am using an external drive to play my cd's at the moment? How can I select which program to open for a selected file? Thanks James -- G-Books is sponsored by http://lowendmac.com/ and... Hello from Texas! I know I'm overlooking the obvious but I'm not too proud to ask for help so here goes ... My Pismo needs more space ... I bought a 30 gig Hitachi/IBM 2.5 mm HD to replace my loud, IBM 10 gig The 10 gig came out fairly easily ... the 30 gig went in fairly easily but when I put everything back together and go to install Panther on it, it doesn't show up in the Destination volume pane. It's as quiet as a cloud. It's as like it's not even in the Pismo. Panicking, I put the 10 gig back in and smile when it boots normally. I've tried this several times now, trying to match the 30 gig installation precisely with the successful 10 gig but so far, no satisfaction. Please, someone take the blinders from my eyes and tell me what I'm missing. I'm a big boy, I can take constructive criticism. I'm on Digest so a cc: private email would be appreciated also. Re: My newly repaired pismo
It is common. It happened to a used PowerBook I bought. It was fine for a month then exhibited the symptoms you mentioned on every wake from sleep, every bootup. It will fade and shouldn't be noticeable as long your brightness is on full. Rumors were that it was the Samsung LCDs and not the LG LCDs that Apple used, but for me it was the opposite. I replaced an LG with a Samsung a few months ago and I've been fine ever since. -Original Message- From: G-Books [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of David M.
