Not much in the Movies folder, about 1800 in the Pictures and about 2000 in music. So far I can't do anything with the Media browser. I'm running 10.3.9, which according to the system requirements, should work except for a few themes in iDVD. Yes, you can publish to a folder which could be on a web server that you are running or a web server which you access through AppleShare or a local folder that is a copy of a folder on some remote web server. Use of Wavelan Bronze Wireless Cards
Use of Wavelan Bronze Wireless Cards I have an odd, somewhat archaic dilemma: I have some G3 and G4 'Books I am selling, and due to the expense of internal airport cards, I am providing a PC Card Wireless adapter in each of the sales. I have a stack of Lucent Wavelan Bronze cards (BroadCom chipsets) as supply. They work fine--at my home network. When I am in OS9, the card reads as an Airport card, when in X it works well with the driver from IOExperts. However, when I take the machine to a couple local WiFi cafes, I get nothing. No joy. Not even an indication of an available network. The cafes are not encrypted--not protected. Any ideas as to the cause and effect of this dilemma? guidance sought on keeping home synched between Powerbook and Desktop Mac
Hi - my first posting here having just got an ali Powerbook 1.67 (the older than last model with 1280 resolution screen). I want to be able to move frequently between my Desktop and Powerbook and find the best way to keep in synch. I can just synch via superduper which is a cloner that can incrementally clone one to the other and back again. Are there any particular risks or penalties from using a clone back and forth? I also have Chronosynch which can synch any folders and may be a better way to go but not sure what to exclude. I am using Entourage and have been manually copying the identity over thus far as well as Address Book. One issue is that their are subjective items to each Mac that DON'T want to synch but I am not sure what and where they are. Most of my data is on another partition on each Mac which makes that easy to keep synched. Any advice guidance or pointers would be gratefully appreciated. Lombard display slightly darker at the bottom.
Dear Listers, This has been bugging me for a while, but the display on my Lombard is slightly darker near the bottom than at the top, and it's got a slight tan/brown hue to it in that area. It's not noticeable unless you're really looking, but when dealing with large white spaces, it shows up pretty clearly. The brown area seems to start about where the bottom edge of the keyboard lines up with the display and gets darker progressively towards the bottom edge of the screen. There is also a slight lighter area that is about two inches in from the right edge and goes up about 3/4 of an inch that is as bright and clear as the rest of the display. Any help would be appreciated, Caleb P.S. It is clearly not the pink hue associated with the failing backlight, though. CSC -- G-Books is sponsored by http://lowendmac.com/ and... Lombard display line.
Dear Listers, First of all, I'm sorry to plague you with my questions, but my Lombard is acting up, so I figured here would be the best source for answers. There is a thin, green (on a white background) line running vertically through my display, about three inches in from the right side. It's really annoying, but not critical. However, I'd like to know what could cause this. The line showed up first when I was watching a DVD under OS 9, and it hasn't gone away when I rebooted into OS X. I cleaned the display about two minutes prior to the line showing up, and a second line has appeared of a red hue, as I type this email. I really hope the display isn't failing on this machine, but you never can tell. Please give me some hope, or a fix, Caleb, -- G-Books is sponsored by http://lowendmac.com/ and... iWeb vs. HomePage
Haven't purchased iLife '06 yet, but have iLife '05 as well as a .Mac account. Am still trying to get a sense of whether iWeb is a replacement for, an alternative to, or a partner with, the HomePage function of .Mac. In other words, is iWeb basically a more full-featured version 2 of HomePage, but one that can be used independently of a .Mac account? And were I to purchase iLife '06, and use it with my .Mac account, would my existing HomePage sites somehow get merged in with any new sites I created using iWeb, or would I need to continue to use HomePage to update and edit those existing sites? Would also enjoy hearing (if all this isn't too far OT), which of HomePage's many limitations have been improved upon in iWeb.
