i have a pismo and an ibook 1.33. when i take them both with me i only take 1 power brick: the one for the ibook. i bought a while ago an adapter that allows me to use the newer brick with the pismo. it is simply a male size on the pismo side and female ibook size on the other.clever and beautiful. gladys pérez-almiroty [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] On 15/02/06 16:49, Frank Cornew [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I'm about to dig into my Pismo to resolder the power jack to the sound card. The unit and drivers work as expected with Windows, yet HP just does not have good drivers for OS X (especially for the AIO units), they tend to grab and use 100% of the CPU and then never let it go, and HP drivers will not work in a multi-user environment; very poor driver implementation. I suspect HP has not even attempted to update their drivers for OS X 10.4 (Tiger), and depending on your HP model's age, probably won't. That said, if your HP unit's driver was recognized by Panther, then I think that Tiger ought to recognize as well. I just realized that you did not mention, what OS were you using before Tiger? my thanks to all who told me about the software problem on the lombard. i took out one 256 ram module and was able to install os 10.3 without a problem. afterwards, i installed the chip back and it ran beautifully. just for kicks, i took out the old chip, and left the machine with the new chip while installing the system software. it made no difference as long as it had 256. g -- G-Books is sponsored by http://lowendmac.com/ and... lombard 10.3
hi: i am trying to upgrade my aunt's lombard. i installed 256 ram in the lower slot and a 60gb 7200 rpm's hd. when i tried to install os 10.3 all went fine up to a point in which the screen turned into a series of static big blue, black and white lines or a pattern of thin lines jumping all over the screen. i tried 3 times with the same thing happening about the same time. the first time i just let it run w/out close attention. i installed os 10.2 without a problem. i remember reading recently about several listas who have installed 10.3 in a lombard. could you tell me what am i doing wrong? tried searching, but so far nothing has turned up. tia, g -- G-Books is sponsored by http://lowendmac.com/ and...
