[Audyssey] Announcing the first expansion to Entombed: The Dungeon Creator

2010-04-08 Thread Richard Sherman
Hello,

This came across the entombed discussion group a few days ago. And thought it
worthy of being posted to the audyssey group.

From: Jason Allen

I'd like to announce the first expansion for Entombed: The Entombed Dungeon
Creator.

Create new items, weapons, armor, monsters, dungeon layouts, and even job
classes. Adjust experience levels, difficulty, treasure, and more! Craft it all
into your own dungeon and share it with others all over the world. Rate the
dungeons you play and help push the best ones to the top!

Development is in the early stages and a limited beta will be available to
anyone who owns the full version of Entombed.

I've created a very preliminary FAQ here:

http://wiki.blind-games.com/wiki/doku.php?id=entombed-dungeoncreator-main

Hello,

I've added some more information to the online manual. You might be interested
in statistics or some details on the Twilight Bazaar. Keep in mind, although I
gave some information about the bazaar, I haven't released the next version yet
that contains it. The bazaar has a whole load of implications that I have to
plan for, but it's nearly complete.

For stats:

For town and bazaar information:

[Audyssey] bugs with battle boomer

2010-04-08 Thread shaun everiss
Hi kevin.
well bugs.
I found several sound files in attacks and grunts folders for female and male.
I deleted these because the system gave errors.
the fight started.
However i kept getting invalid sound errors and so i deleted the game.
looks good from what I saw though.
I have also looked at the platform jump not much to it so I also got rid of the
game I can clock it in 5 seconds.

Re: [Audyssey] news Request

2010-04-08 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi,
Definitely. I think people completely forget the fact BGT has a lot of
the hard work done. If a developer has to write something like PB
Streamway, for example, that's going to take time. DirectSound 8 is
ok, but it has none of the features of Streamway like the support for
compressed file types, sound encryption, and doesn't even have a way
to load PCm wav files without you creating a wrapper class for that
purpose. So right there the audio support in BGT is first rate, and
better than DirectSound by itself.
Another thing that most new BGT users probably don't understand is how
much easier using it is compared to using C/C++ directly. For one
thing you don't have to mess with pointers which are always something
of a pain. Every pointer you asign you have to remember somewhere in
your program to release/destroy it to free up that block of memory.
Most people hear probably have no idea whatI'm talking about, but the
lack of having to deal with pointers is a very good thing for new
programmers.
Also BGT seams to handle strings without worrying about unicode vs
ascii code. that's a good thing, because a C++ application written for
Windows generally gets pretty picky about string types. To pas an
unicode string to a string constant you have to do something like
LPWSTR strText = L"Hello world!";
which cconverts the words "Hello world" to unicode and stores it in
the string constant strText. We don't have to worry too much about
that in BGT which makes it much less confusing.
Bottom line, some of these people really have no idea what they are
talking about here. BGT is simple and easy to use which is worth its
wait in gold right there. The builtin features and simplicity of the
scripting language makes it a great tool to use for game development
if you don't have the years of experience as a software developer that
someone like me has.
Then, as I pointed out before professional tools cost money. Visual
Studio itself isn't cheep. Oh, there is the Express version, which is
free, but it is also a very stripped down version lacking most of the
features and tools you get with Visual Studio Pro. One of these
additional tools you don't get with Express is Microsoft Advance Setup
Installer which is really the best installation system for Windows.
There is Dotfuscator which helps a developer protect his/her .NET
applications from reverse engineering. On and on we can go. So if you
want to develope a game right and have all the pro tools you are going
to pay some serious big bucks for the tools, and still have to write
your own game engine from scratch. It isn't worth it for someone who
doesn't have that stuff to begin with.

Cheers!

Re: [Audyssey] news Request

2010-04-08 Thread Philip Bennefall

Hi Thomas,

Thank you for this long and thorough explanation. I get this question all
the time, as a matter of fact. What one is paying for is not the scripting,
because as Tom says there are already plenty of scripting engines out there.
The scripting is merely one of many parts forming the chain that makes it,
in my humble opinion, at least 10 times easier to develop an audio game than
it would in C++. The statement that if one can learn BGT one can directly
learn C++ as well is not true. The syntax, sure, but a language is so much
more than its syntax. C++ itself has none of the advantages that BGT offers,
and if you need to acquire these you'll be talking an even higher price tag
and with more work on the part of the programmer as well. And for those who
want to make free games, the lite version is considerably cheaper.

Kind regards,

Philip Bennefall

Hello Tom,
Actually, $800 is a pretty fair price for a tool like BGT Pro. I think
your opinion that it is over priced is do to the fact you haven't had
any experience as a professional software developer. I can tell you
for a fact that similar tools in the programming market would cost far
more in comparison. Especially, if you begin adding up the cost for
various software products. Here is some things to look at.

FMOD Ex (Shareware License) $100.00
FMOD Ex (Casual License) $3,000.00
FMOD Ex (Commercial License) $6,000.00
Play Station SDK $20,000.00
Visual Studio Standard $299.00
Visual Studio Professional (without MSDN) $569
Visual Studio Professional (with MSDN) $1,299.00
Visual Studio Premium (with MSDN) $2,499.00

Just that alone can run you into thousands of dollars, and we haven't
even began talking about sounds, music, and voice acting yet. Plus the
fact BGT is or will be a fully qualified game engine complete with
scripting, sound encryption, Sapi support, etc out of the box. If you
use Visual Studio and say FMOD Ex you are going to pay more and still
have to write a bunch of that stuff from scratch anyway. Plus if you
want to support a special game console like Play Station Sony charges
a wopping $20,000 to license their tools and libraries. So $800 isn't
a bad price realistically speaking.
If you are comercially selling your games you will earn back that $800
pretty quickly. MOTA grosed more than that during preordering, and
I'm sure the final release will even earn more.

On 4/8/10, lirin wrote:

BTW, how many will be cost BGT? i don't know it is true or not, but
i've hear something about 800$.

When i am thinkinh about this price, i am trying to get a question for
my ansfer.

Firstly, 800$ is a dramatically price from a nightmare, i mean pro
version of BGT.

Why we must paying for something like that? Okay, we can only paying for
a examples, but for nothing more.

If i can learn BGT, i can learn a C++ language too, so, where is a
target to get it?

Sorry for of topic anyway.

On the marked we have tools like that, maybe not for games, but we have,
autohotkey, autoit, etc etc, and we have it for free.

Maybe i am not a programmer, and don't know it very well, but for me
it's something from hell, with full of respect.

Oh yes, and if you walk into the left end, it'll alert you that you crashed
into it, and the P key will at any point tell you the point number and
whether up or down on floor - like mentioned, put in my own sayNumber method
there as well.

You're more than welcome to have a look and let me know what you think.

Basically, you start off at point number 1, and if you move to the right,
there are two raised platforms inbetween there and point 50, of a length
of
3 spaces each, and when you walk into one of them, you hear that bump
sound,

and if you hit space bar while facing it, you'll jump up onto it, and you
can then walk across it, where you'll then drop back to floor, and if you
reach the far right - point 50, you've reached the end, and an alert will
pop up telling you how many seconds it took you.

You can walk in both directions, since like the name suggests, I used to
love true platform jumping games in the old sighted days when was quite a
lot younger, so might take it a bit further etc.

Also, presume you're trying out the second version, where I tried to
implement just holding in the left/right keys to keep on moving instead of
pushing them one step at a time, and there am just sort of telling it to
wait inside the loop for around the time that matches the length of the
relevant sound effect.

Now includes just holding in left and right keys to make the character
keep on moving instead of repeatedly pressing them.

Still have to figure out how exactly to stop it from looping excessively
past certain events/happenings, but have already implemented some
boolean

state variables which do help a bit, but not perfect as of yet, and also
played around with/edited sound effects to make them work a bit better,
as well as making the applet wait for them to play before carrying on,
and did that by using the wait method for now instead of play_wait, but
will maybe try out different versions or something.

Re: [Audyssey] news Request

2010-04-08 Thread Thomas Ward
Hello Tom,
Actually, $800 is a pretty fair price for a tool like BGT Pro. I think
your opinion that it is over priced is do to the fact you haven't had
any experience as a professional software developer. I can tell you
for a fact that similar tools in the programming market would cost far
more in comparison. Especially, if you begin adding up the cost for
various software products. Here is some things to look at.

FMOD Ex (Shareware License) $100.00
FMOD Ex (Casual License) $3,000.00
FMOD Ex (Commercial License) $6,000.00
Play Station SDK $20,000.00
Visual Studio Standard $299.00
Visual Studio Professional (without MSDN) $569
Visual Studio Professional (with MSDN) $1,299.00
Visual Studio Premium (with MSDN) $2,499.00

Just that alone can run you into thousands of dollars, and we haven't
even began talking about sounds, music, and voice acting yet. Plus the
fact BGT is or will be a fully qualified game engine complete with
scripting, sound encryption, Sapi support, etc out of the box. If you
use Visual Studio and say FMOD Ex you are going to pay more and still
have to write a bunch of that stuff from scratch anyway. Plus if you
want to support a special game console like Play Station Sony charges
a wopping $20,000 to license their tools and libraries. So $800 isn't
a bad price realistically speaking.
If you are comercially selling your games you will earn back that $800
pretty quickly. MOTA grosed more than that during preordering, and
I'm sure the final release will even earn more.

Re: [Audyssey] Next version of platform jumping BGT script/game

2010-04-08 Thread Philip Bennefall

Hi Jacob,

I've tride the little platform game and it certainly runs just fine, though
I don't quite understand what I should be doing. I hear a little note played
on a mouth organ I believe when I press the space bar and I can walk into
walls, though one time when I was pressing the arrow keys fast I got a
message box that I unfortunately pressed enter on before I could read it.
I'll take a peak in the source a little later today and give you some more
feedback privately, if you'd like?

Keep experimenting, for sure. You're well on your way.

Now includes just holding in left and right keys to make the character
keep on moving instead of repeatedly pressing them.

Still have to figure out how exactly to stop it from looping excessively
past certain events/happenings, but have already implemented some boolean
state variables which do help a bit, but not perfect as of yet, and also
played around with/edited sound effects to make them work a bit better, as
well as making the applet wait for them to play before carrying on, and
did that by using the wait method for now instead of play_wait, but will
maybe try out different versions or something.

Fair enough then, I did think this was the case but thought I ought to
check.

Generally, I don't mind posting public betas, but there has to be a certain
quality to them, so that would make sense.

it will also though make life easier when bgt can do solo compiling of one
sort or another, sinse then when people think they've got something vaguely
playable, they can compile it, sort of like gift wrapping for the
general public.

Hi Thomas,

I tend to agree. While some of the things being created by BGT users
certainly are of high quality, they obviously cannot yet function without
the BGT engine being present on the user's system. This is a serious
drawback for anything that is to be professionally distributed. Besides,
BGT will be able to do so much more in the 1.0 release so that the
functionality that is currently present can be considered fairly limited
in comparison to what will come.

Hi Dark,
One thing that might help is to consider here that BGT itself is in
beta testing. Therefore anything currently being created using it is
likewise a work in progress. Some of the new games are for the most
part just practice appplications or scripts at this point. Were I you
I wouldn't really consider them news worthy until they are stable,
built using the full BGT engine, and can be compiled into
redistributable files. However, thisis just my opinion based on my own
view of professionalism here.

This has occasionally also happened on the audiogames.net forum, when
someone has posted a comparatively unfinished version of a game (often a

but, really it's a very boring game, also, no competitions or something

also, when playing, no intertainment at all, cause computer will do all

Just when the player speak s from the right you will send the ball right

also, can't play online at all, can't find any parteners.
so, now can't we find any other good football game for blinds?

really I love this game, and if I find one I will buy it soon.

Re: [Audyssey] Battle boomer question

2010-04-08 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Kevin,
Yeah, AutoIt was never designed for the kinds of games you are
thinking of here. Far too many would be game developers tried it,
trying to take the easy road to game development, and crashed and
burned using that scripting language. So obviously you need a more
professional language to use for agame like Battle Boomer.
Now, the question here is what sort of programming language do you
have in mind for the port? I wouldn't recommend Visual Basic 6 simply
for the fact it is no longer officially supported on Windows Vista and
Windows 7. Basically, it is a dead language, and only a handful of
developers are still using it professionally. It isn't that I don't
like Visual Basic 6, but I do feel strongly that if you are going to
take the time learning a language and writing games in it you should
start with something current.
I know that C++ isn't the easiest language to learn, but like Philip
I'm coming to believe it really is the best language for games. There
really aren't any languages that compare with C/C++ for game
development. however, if I had to pick a good second it would be
Microsoft's C# .NET language which I was using for Tomb Hunter
Mysteries of the Ancients and Star Trek Final Conflict. So I would be
able to help with either one, and rrecommend one of those for your
Battle Boomer project.

2010-04-08 Thread Philip Bennefall

Hi Kevin,

BGT will definitely have a compiler in the 1.0 release, so a port of your
game to this language would not be a bad idea in my opinion. Of course, I'm
bound to say that but seriously though, VB 6, like AutoIt, is a language
that I would not recommend. It certainly works better than AutoIt but it's
so old now so that it's getting nearly impossible to maintain forward
compatibility with new Windows versions. Sure your games will run on Xp, but
above that it gets trickier and trickier. I'll be glad to help you port to
BGT, should you decide to take that root. Remember that for freeware games,
BGT will only sell for some 65 USD.

Re: [Audyssey] news Request

2010-04-08 Thread Philip Bennefall

Hi Thomas,

I tend to agree. While some of the things being created by BGT users
certainly are of high quality, they obviously cannot yet function without
the BGT engine being present on the user's system. This is a serious
drawback for anything that is to be professionally distributed. Besides, BGT
will be able to do so much more in the 1.0 release so that the functionality
that is currently present can be considered fairly limited in comparison to
what will come.

Kind regards,

Philip Bennefall

One thing that might help is to consider here that BGT itself is in

What I suggest you do is go into the folder it tells you and delete the

Hi,
You can get the FMOD Ex API from fmodex.com.
the fmodex.dll file is a com component so I don't see why it wouldn't
work with AutoIt. It works with just about everything else including
C#, Visual Basic, C++, you name it.

Well, as though I posted the version of the script with the actual script
included, or at least I ment to do that, the dll should be included. If
not, just paste the dll file in the project folder:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1617788/PureAudio.dll
That must work.

Re: [Audyssey] How did you start?

2010-04-08 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Jim,
I wouldn't be a bit suprised. Dos and Linux shared many of the same
commandline applications back in those days. It was much easier to
create cross-platform applications like lynx, sox, pine, ncftp, etc
than it is today. Today programming is more complicated because
instead of printing text directly to the screen or looking for
keyboard ascii codes we have full fledged graphical tool kits that are
generally operating system specific, unicode text, and special scan
codes for special keys such as the Windows key and other keys that
don't return a triditional ascii code.
However, I know all too well about trying to shell out to play a wav
file. Back when I was writing my first text games in the mid 90's in C
I would use the system function like
system ("play shuffle.wav");
which would shell out, play the shuffle file using sox, and then
return to normal game play. It definitely was a pretty crude but
effective way of adding sounds to otherwise text games. As you said it
was sortof fun trying to figure out where to shell out, play the
sound, and then come back so it didn't seam as though it was all out
of place.

Smile.

I really can't remember precisely when I stumbled across whitestick but
that
really was where my audio gaming jerney began. It was either late 2003 or
in

2004. I'm thinking more 2003 actually as packman talks is the first game I
bought I think. For the most part I've been playing mainstream games as I
do

have some sight so being very honest there aren't many audio games that
really do impress me. In terms of size of game and content replayability
and

complexity. Phil's packman talks and GMA tank commander, lw are the real
games that have impressed me. Entombed is fantastic as well, so too I'm
sure

time of conflict will be. I haven't looked at that yet because am always
caucious with regards to beta software even if I do trust the source. But
I've been reading all the comments that the public testers have fed back
to

the list and with great interest.

Re: [Audyssey] Hi!

2010-04-08 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi,
Welcome to the Audyssey list. We have a great bunch of people and
developers here.
As far as finding games audiogames.net really is our central resource.
Unfortunately several game developers have come and gone abandoning
there games, and for some games there are no links to download. So
that is part of the reason why the Audiogames.net database is the way
it is.
As far as the method of speech output goes that tends to be a
difference in game developers. Some developers such as Jim Kitchen
prefer using Sapi because it is easier to program and he owns some of
the higher quality voices which isn't too bad for gaming. Others like
Philip use human speech in games like Q9 because it sounds better and
more professional. Not much we can do about what the developer likes
to use. You get what you get in this business.

Smile.

Hi,
OhSo what are you using for audio now? I don't know if there is
code on the internet for it, but I know XAudio2 is now compatible with
AutoIt as well as a bunch of other languages through Windows COM
support. I haven't yet updated my own games to XAudio2 yet, but it
looks pretty decent for game development.

Try Jim Kitchen's football game. It's found at

www.kitchensinc.net

in the section of free text to speech Windows games. On offense, you
choose from a list of plays, and on defense, well, you defend. It's a
good fun free game with good sounds. Be sure to download and install the
other necessary files first, as described at the site. And, while you're
at it, try the other free games from there, too. There's a lot of fun to

hi all;

really I love football so much and I need to play it on computer, while I
was at school we were playing football, but now no hope. so
I tried playing it on computer until I found the super football, it has
many good things like its name is football game.
but, really it's a very boring game, also, no competitions or something
inside the game, no updates, and the support team is not good.
also, when playing, no intertainment at all, cause computer will do all
things for you, u can't control the ball at all,
Just when the player speak s from the right you will send the ball right
etc.

also, can't play online at all, can't find any parteners.
so, now can't we find any other good football game for blinds?

really I love this game, and if I find one I will buy it soon.

Re: [Audyssey] the new update for battle boomer has bin delayed.

2010-04-08 Thread Kevin Weispfennig
Well, It was because of the bug. I found a new bug that I had to squash
before going public with it. And not because of my connection whish is
bad, I kmust admit, but the most delay is because of that bad bug I had
to fix but couldn't but finally got around to know what it was all about.

[Audyssey] Game idea (Wall Street), need guidance on where to start

2010-04-08 Thread Reinhard Stebner
Below is a idea for a game that I am currently thinking about writing.
There are several questions I have for the list and I would appreciate your
guidance. First of all, I was thinking of using the BGT to write the game.
I would like to make this game for both sighted and blind users to play so,
I was thinking of including graphics that a friend of mine would put
together. First the game scenario:

Wall Street (currently the game name, but will most likely need to be
changed do to this name being used in the "real world")

Intro
You are progeny of a wall street tycoon. Your father was not only
successful in manipulating the market but a genius in economics. He,
however, has become annoyed with living at home and mooching off his golden
egg. You have been kicked out of the house and decided to try your own hand
at the stock exchange. It turns out, all your friends have been kicked out
of their homes as well, and now you all are racing to build up the sweetest
nest egg. It is a man eat man world out there.

Game Objective

The players represent young adults of different backgrounds trying to see
who can save up the most money for retirement. To achieve it, they have to
accumulate knowledge and money.

Game setup
The 6 characters are random. Each player receives 2 trust funds which stay
in their investment portfolio. Additionally each player receives a starting
amount of money which is weighted according to his starting strengths. Each
player can start using their knowledge from the start of the game. There is
not only a token to keep track of everyone's score but a token to keep track
of the level of each player's strengths. Players may buy additional levels
during the game. There are also various acquisitions available for
purchase. Of each type of acquisition, there are half as many as there are
players (rounded up). As the game progresses, the acquisitions become more
valuable.

Game sequence
The game is played in turns called years. The turn order for the first year
is random. Each year consists of 3 phases. In the first phase, players will
collect income. Then each player will reinvest their money in over the
course of the year. Players' points are adjusted according to their
investments on the board instantaneously, however, turn order for the next
year is not decided until phase 3. During phase 3, the computer determines
whether ending criteria are met, if the next year will be a recession, and
turn order based on points.

Phase 1:
At the start of each year, the acquisition slots are filled so that there
are as many acquisitions as there are players. Each player earns income.
This will include a $2,000 allowance from your father each year as well as
money from assets. Some acquisitions also contribute to player's income.
The following is a list of assets and the money that they generate.

Trust Funds: The first trust fund generates $3,000. The second generates
$5000. Each additional trust generates $10,000. Thus, the starting income
for every player is $10,000

Government Bonds: On average, bonds make $20,000 a year.

Mutual Funds: On average, mutual funds make $50,000 a year.
Stocks: On average, stocks make $100,000 a year.
Speculation Funds: On average, speculated funds make $200,000 a year.
Also in phase 1, debts are settled. Players must use their income to pay
their debt, until either their debt is paid off, or they have no more income
this year.

Phase 2:
During phase 2, each players get to make decisions on how to spend their
money according to the turn order. No player is allowed to spend more money
while they are currently in debt. So the first player will spend his money
as he desires. When he is done, the second player may go, and then so on.
Choices of actions for this phase are; buying assets, taking seminars,
placing acquisitions up for bid, investing in their 401K, and taking other
players to court.
Buying assets

At the beginning of the game, players are only able to buy trust funds and
government bonds. After purchasing certain acquisitions, players are then
able to buy the more risky assets. To buy speculated funds, one must
advance in the knowledge of speculation. There is a limit to how many
assets you are able to keep track of. At the beginning of the game, you are
only able to follow 5 assets, but as the game progresses, you will increase
in knowledge and acquisitions which will allow you to own more assets. If
at any point in the game, a player owns more assets then he can keep track
of, the number in excess is the number of assets he will not earn income
from starting from the highest yielding. At any point in the game, players
may sell assets for half their cost to the player.

Taking seminars

Every player starts off at level 1 in knowledge of the field their father
specializes in. Players may buy entrance to seminars to increase their
knowledge. Also players may buy the ability to take seminars in other
fields of knowledge.

Re: [Audyssey] How did you start?

2010-04-08 Thread Darren Harris
I really can't remember precisely when I stumbled across whitestick but that
really was where my audio gaming jerney began. It was either late 2003 or in
2004. I'm thinking more 2003 actually as packman talks is the first game I
bought I think. For the most part I've been playing mainstream games as I do
have some sight so being very honest there aren't many audio games that
really do impress me. In terms of size of game and content replayability and
complexity. Phil's packman talks and GMA tank commander, lw are the real
games that have impressed me. Entombed is fantastic as well, so too I'm sure
time of conflict will be. I haven't looked at that yet because am always
caucious with regards to beta software even if I do trust the source. But
I've been reading all the comments that the public testers have fed back to
the list and with great interest.

Re: [Audyssey] The new game, Battleboomer, Released!

2010-04-08 Thread Ryan Smith
Hi,
The BASS sound library is free for non-commercial use, as is FMOD.
Here is a wrapper someone made for BASS:
http://www.autoitscript.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=83481

I don't have much experience with BASS myself, but I'm sure it's much
better then COMAudio.
Thanks.

Re: [Audyssey] The new game

2010-04-08 Thread Kevin Weispfennig
HI there, just another update I wanted to give ya'll.
Right now I am actively working ont he game. I am trying to get the sounds
working as I want them to, though it is still having some buffer
problems. The only way I can possibly fix that is loading the sounds all
at once into memory, but that has some draw-backs. First, the game takes
on my computer about 2,4 GHZ with 4.00 GB of ram, about 30 seconds to
load because ofa ll the massive sounds. second you need more memory than
you used to need. I haven't figured out how much yet, but quiet a bit. I
hope I can fix this issue with that.
So jsut wanted to give you an update that I am in fact right now owkring on
the project.

Hi.

With the bgt just releasd, lots of clever people are making games,
which is obviously good.

The only problem is, as news hound for audiogames.net, I'm not precisely
certain at what point people want the games reported on the front of
audiogames.net as news items, and at what point their just private betas
shown off on this list.

This has occasionally also happened on the audiogames.net forum, when
someone has posted a comparatively unfinished version of a game (often a
programming example or first attempt game which is more like a
programming example).

so, could people please let me know if their posting bgt projects as just
work in progress type affairs, or whether they want them considdered as
at least public beta status and therefore needing reporting and
eventually adding to the database.

Re: [Audyssey] How did you start?

2010-04-08 Thread Jim Kitchen

Hi Thomas,

I also have and used a wav file player named sox. They must have also made a
dos version. But all that we did was use the Basic shell command to shell out
and play the wav file. It worked and was great to be able to add wav files to
our games, but as you can imagine shelling out was not exactly congruent to
smooth continuous game play. But that was part of the fun. You know figuring
out how to make a good game and blend in that shelling out to play sounds. I
was writing my games in PDS7. That is Microsoft Professional Development
System version 7. Also known as Extended Quick Basic. That golf game was
though written in GW Basic by a PC Users group from Pittsburgh. I also wrote
in GW Basic, BasicA, QBasic, Quick Basic 3.0 and Quick Basic 4.5. And
Microsoft Extended Basic for the TI 99 4A and Atari home computers. Oh yeah
and wrote a couple of little games for my Dad on his TRS80 in whatever Basic
that was.

Try Jim Kitchen's football game. It's found at

www.kitchensinc.net

in the section of free text to speech Windows games. On offense, you choose
from a list of plays, and on defense, well, you defend. It's a good fun
free game with good sounds. Be sure to download and install the other
necessary files first, as described at the site. And, while you're at it,
try the other free games from there, too. There's a lot of fun to be found

but, really it's a very boring game, also, no competitions or something
inside the game, no updates, and the support team is not good.
also, when playing, no intertainment at all, cause computer will do all
things for you, u can't control the ball at all,
Just when the player speak s from the right you will send the ball right
etc.

also, can't play online at all, can't find any parteners.
so, now can't we find any other good football game for blinds?

really I love this game, and if I find one I will buy it soon.

importantly, where to get it. *smiles*

Re: [Audyssey] news Request

2010-04-08 Thread Jacob Kruger
Well, will just say, any of my 'attempts' are still somewhat/rather
experimental.

If I (ever) actually finish off a game as such, I'll let you know, since at
this stage am just posting them here as examples, and also in case anyone
has feedback/suggestions, etc.

Stay well

Hi.

With the bgt just releasd, lots of clever people are making games,
which is obviously good.

The only problem is, as news hound for audiogames.net, I'm not precisely
certain at what point people want the games reported on the front of
audiogames.net as news items, and at what point their just private betas
shown off on this list.

This has occasionally also happened on the audiogames.net forum, when
someone has posted a comparatively unfinished version of a game (often a
programming example or first attempt game which is more like a programming
example).

so, could people please let me know if their posting bgt projects as just
work in progress type affairs, or whether they want them considdered as at
least public beta status and therefore needing reporting and eventually
adding to the database.

Beware the grue!

Dark.
