[Audyssey] Voice control games.

2011-12-24 Thread michael barnes

Hello, All.
I found a couple of IOS games that will let you control them by voice control.
All you have to do is tell the game what you want it to do.
Here is the to games that I have found.
PAH
AI adventure
So if anyone else know of any games besides these that let you control
the game by your voice, please give me the names of them.

Thanks!

how do you play the games though how do we know the actions are carried out are
they accessible to the blind?
you can't just say oh do this and expect to complete the game without feedback
from the game itself?

Re: [Audyssey] big changes coming to core exiles.

2011-12-24 Thread Darren Harris
Hi dark,

Well I guess the biggest change to non settlement owners is that we can
start up our own businesses and have majour affects on the economic system.
Also with the introduction of pm ships, that will cause some real events to
happen with supply and demand. Coops is certainly doing his best to make
this game purely player driven.

 Hi all,

For the ce players on this list and for anybody who is interested I just
read this on the ce fb page:

Have you signed up for the newsletter yet? No? Well take a look at the
 information

below so you know what you missed out on.

It’s been a long time in the making, in fact 100′s of hours of coding
 and
 beta testing

have gone into Level Six Settlements and all that it will soon open up.
We’

 re not

quiet there yet, but we are close enough that the real testing has began
 and
 to start

 converting rumors into facts.

 Level Six Settlements

Taking your settlement from Level 5 to Level 6 is the ultimate upgrade for

 a
 settlement

owner. It allows you to start helping to shape the game and provide
 resources and

services your fellow captains will be clamoring to use.

Level Six is not a cheap path, and only those that are dedicated and have
 the resolve

to do so will make it work. Level 6 six will allow your settlement to
 choose
 a ‘spec’,

these come with three types of content.

Commercial / Industrial Center, Ship Crafting and Starbase Crafting. Each
 spec will

require a large quantity of time and money to get to grips with and don’t
 expect

to make back your investment any time soon, but you will find your
 services
 in great

demand, and after all you can set your own prices so who knows!

Level Six will also allow for bigger and better buildings, mores choice
 and
 more

options for stores and support industries.

 Player Made Ships

We will be introducing a new element to Core-Exiles at the same time Level
 Six is

 released, that being ‘Corporations’.

Your own space based enterprise. Build and run your own corporation from a
 single

ship to an entire fleet with offices spanning the known Galaxies. But,
 everything

hinges around your fellow Settlement owners manufacturing you the ships
 you
 will

 so desperately need!

 Player Made Starbases

Settlements choosing this path for their spec will be able to manufacture
 the massive

Hubs required for player Starbase deployment. Your own Starbase on the
 map!
 A huge

responsibility and with it a gargantuan list of requirements and costs!
 But,
 it all

relies on your fellow Level Six settlement owners!

 Commercial Industrial

It’s not difficult to imagine that with the massive requirements there
 are
 going

to be a huge demand for modules, components, resources and such like.
 Commercial

spec’d settlements will play a vital role in fulfilling these
 requirements.
 It’s

not going to be cheap and it’s not going to be easy but its sure as hell
 gonna be

 fun!

 Preparation is Key

Upgrading to Level Six is just the beginning. Once there you will need to
 research

every scrap of information you can find and think long and hard about your
 options.

Players will be needing the services of all the level 6 settlements and it
 will be

down to you to provide those services.

All those hard earned credits and resources you’ve been saving for a
 rainy
 day? Well

its about to begin to pour down! So be ready to empty the coffers and
 convert every

last scrap of resource you have to attain your goals.

This is just a taste of whats coming your way. We will begin to post more
 over the

coming weeks, but get those harvests and extractors busy folks, get your
 banks topped

off and consider yourselves on warning - LEVEL SIX IS COMING!

 Coops

2011-12-24 Thread dark

Hi Alan.

It's all about the angle. keep track of your vertical heading with the t
key. When it's zero you've leveled out.

Also personally i never bother flying above 30 myself, sinse it's far easier
to land if your closer to the ground, and there are no penalties for low
flying at all, unrealistic as this sounds, though this may change in the

Is there a keystroke to level off when the proper altitude is reached? I
get to 400 and when I pull back on the stick I start to descend and I
don't stop descending, but if I pull forward I rise and keep rising. I
goo up and down until I eventually crash.

Hi tom.

Have you tried Pontes backgammon from
http://www.pontes.ro/backgammon/help/index.php I admit I was rather
impressed by the game and in fact it's got me into playing backgammon which
i've not tried before (oddly enough, it's not as popular in England as you'd
think).

the many features of the Pontes game however, and indeed the game itself
very much impressed me. apart from various good sounds and board over view,
and a few fun options like choosing background ambience for the game,
playing the computer has been a good way for me to learn the game and
improve.

I can now always defeat the computer on Hard, and can win 50 percent of the
time against difficult. while I agree this is probab ly not as challenging
as it could be, sinse Pontes backgammon has the ability to play against
other people online, some of whome are very good there is always an option
to continue.

Pluss Manu is continually improving the game, he's just for instance added
mouse support and apparently is looking into adding graphics as well.

I'd deffinately recommend it, even if the computer isn't tough enough there
is always online play.

Re: [Audyssey] For my fellow gamers.

2011-12-24 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi,

Yes, while something like a standard flight sim might be considered
boring by some there are certainly aspects that make them interesting
to play. Besides the real world challenges you mentioned below like
real life weather conditions a lot of sighted players enjoy the
background scenery and visual effects offered by Microsoft Flight
Simulator. While no spoken feedback can quite convey the same thing as
seeing it I could see an accessible flight sim have a co-pilot that
ocationally describes where you are and what is on the ground.

Attention, ladies and gentlemen, if you look off to the right you can
see the Statue of Liberty come into view as we make our way to John F.
Kenidy Airport. She stands 100 feet tall, and is still holding the
torch of freedom up high for all to see.

Something like that would make a flight simulator interesting and add
some of the feedback sighted pilots see when flying FSX and other
flight simulators. It merely means the developer has to get creative
and attempt to convert the visual into something accessible we can
enjoy as well. I personally don't think it would be boring if a game
had such a feature as my co-pilot could describe things as we passed
them in flight. toss in a few historical facts or trivia as well and
the game might even be educational too.

Cheers!

On 12/23/11, Dallas O'Brien dallas-obr...@bigpond.com wrote:

things at you to deal with during the flight. so an hour in to the
flight, you might have and elecrical alarm go off, and you have to
decide if your going to just ignore it, and keep flying, or land to have
it checked out, in which case, you will have to divert, and reset your
 flight plans.
also, it might be boring to some, but some, like myself, would actually
 enjoy this kind of game.
also, if its realisticly based, perhaps even drawing info from real
world weather like fs flight sims can, this could make things
 interesting during a flight to.
such as having to divert around a storm cell, divert ot a new airport
nearby if the runway is unusable at your destination, and many many
other things that a real pilot has to deal with.

Hi Jim,

Interesting. When I was younger, before I lost my sight, I use to help
my dad build gas powered model airplanes that we took out and flew on
the weekends. the nice thing about where we lived is there was a
little airport made especially for model airplanes not far from our
house and I spent hours of fun flying model aircraft over the summer
break. Its one of the things I truly miss as an adult as my dad and I
don't really have that kind of time to share any more.

Another type of model aircraft I was into is model rockets. We would
pick one up at the store build it, put a little gas powered engine in
the bottom, and then take it down to the model airport and launch them
off. One of the coolest model rockets I owned was called the Camrock.

The Camrock had a small 110 camra mounted in the nose cone, and if you
put a roll of 110 film in it you could do airial photography using the
rocket. The way it worked is you launched the rocket, it went up to say
500 feet I think, and then came back down. As it rolled over the
parachute would deploy triggering the camra and it would take a
snapshot of the ground below. Somewhere around here I have a framed
photograph of my old neighborhood I took with the camrock when I was 9
or 10 years old.

However, now days like you I mainly spend my time with radio
controlled vehicles. My son and I sometimes take them down to the
local park and race them when the weather is nice. I've got a Dodge
Ram pickup, a Hummer, a couple of dune buggies, and a large 1/6 scale
four wheeler. I've even got a radio controlled boat my son and I take
turns playing with in my in-laws pond. I think the next thing I want
to buy is a radio controlled submarine.

Cheers!

Well done a little of that too.
The rockets are not hard to build, it just takes a bit of time. The
engines they use are solid pods in sizes A, B, C, D. The D type
engine is a 2 stage design, and each letter progresses up in power.
Now building, getting them ready to fly can be done. however, they do
go up enough that you will lose sound from engine and then when done no sound.
So as long as you got someone with sight. You can pretty much get
your rocket back.
Do a search on youtube for model rockets. They have a lot you can get
the feel for it.

The demo restriction on the game is indeed that you can't bare off more than
four checkers. Usually though you don't start baring off until at the end of
a game so you can play the majority of the game anyway.

I'm looking at the Pontes Backgammon site. So, if I donate 13 euros, I'll
be able to play a full game, but if I don't, I can't.

I'll have to do some conversion, because I'm not sure how much that is in

for

the opportunity for on-line play. Does it all work well?

the many features of the Pontes game however, and indeed the game itself
very much impressed me. apart from various good sounds and board over
view,

and a few fun options like choosing background ambience for the game,
playing the computer has been a good way for me to learn the game and

I'd deffinately recommend it, even if the computer isn't tough enough
there

is always online play.

Re: [Audyssey] Model Aircraft and Radio Controlled Vehicles

2011-12-24 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Charles,

Well, keep in mind I still had sight when I was into model rockets,
but the kits usually weren't that difficult to build. Of course, how
difficult the kit was to build depended on the kit. They ranged from
beginner models for kids to very advanced models for adults. The
models I built were mostly the beginner models as I was only 9 or 10
years old at the time and the instructions were not that difficult.

However, I do remember my dad and I did buy one of the more advanced
kits, the Apollo 11, and that one required my dad's help because it
was a fairly detailed replication of the Saturn 5 rocket and Apollo 11
command module. It had to be painted, glued together, and there were
several detailed decals to add to it. I suppose I could have done
that one myself, as I was sighted at the time, but couldn't have done
that one blind as we wanted it to look as close as possible to the
real thing.

As far as the fuel goes the model rockets use a solid rocket engine
meaning that it uses a special propellant that comes with the engine
you buy from the toy store. The fuel and oxidizer are mixed together
into a propellant that is packed into a solid cylinder which comes
inside the model rocket engine itself. You use an electric ignition to
light the engine, and launch the model rocket into the air. Once you
use the engine you have to replace it before relaunching the model
rocket as there is no way to refuel it. That's why model rocket
engines generally come three to a pack as you can only use them once
before throwing them away and buying a new one.

The reason why modern model rockets use solid propellant rather than
liquid fuels like gas is for safety reasons. Apparently, back in the
60's when model rockets first became really popular kids had a habit
of blowing their hands and arms off messing with liquid fuels like
gas. So modern model rocket engines use the same type of solid
propellant the shuttle uses in its solid rocket boosters but only on a
smaller scale of course. You just install the engine, set your rocket
on the launch pad, connect the electric ignition and blast off. There
isn't any handling flammable materials, poisonous chemicals, or
anything too dangerous for a kid to get hurt with. Just remember to
stand back before igniting the engine as you could get toasted if you
are too close.

As far as a blind person building and flying model rockets I think
the blindness issue takes a lot of the fun out of it. The most fun I
had with them was launching them and watching them reach maximum
altitude, say 1,000 feet, and then descend back to the earth. Not
being able to watch them fly takes most if not all of the fun out of
it. At least for me that's been the reason I haven't gotten back into
it.

For example, back around Easter time my in-laws had a couple of model
rockets they decided to launch after dinner and everyone sat outside
watching the rockets go up one after another. I felt really left out
of the experience because I could hear them take off, and had to
listen to people ooh and ah as they flew overhead. One even crash
landed right in the middle of the pond and we couldn't get it until
summer when someone finally went swimming and retrieved it out of the
mud. By that time it was pretty much hosed. In any case I didn't
really feel connected to the fun of watching them. Being told a rocket
just torpedoed straight into the middle of the pond isn't quite as fun
as watching it hit, break apart, and sink.

Cheers!

with the Mac is limited to some use of my in-laws MacBook they let me

I use now and then belongs to my in-laws I don't exactly have the

Cheers!

being able to watch them fly takes most if not all of the fun out of

Cheers!

Hi Charles,

No, they don't fire torpedoes, but that doesn't rule out creating mock
submarine battles and things like that. You have to use your
imagination here to a certain point, but you can certainly maneuver
these rc submarines around like a real submarine, pull up to the stern
of a radio controlled destroyer and pretend you just chucked one up
his tail. For obvious reasons you wouldn't want these mock battles to

Muds are platform agnostic; it does not make sense to say that there
are no accessible muds for the mac. That said, there are very few
mudding clients for the mac platform, so finding a client that is
accessible may be tough. MushZ for example, does not have a mac

The two mac clients that I know our players use are:

Savitar: http://www.heynow.com/Savitar/
Mudwalker: http://mudwalker.cubik.org/

There's also a huge list of mac mudding clients available at:

The ice roads are actually frozen rivers in the northern provinces
that are so frozen that they are used as roads. However, as the show
said they are extremely dangerous because vehicles can crack the ice
and fall through, or slide on the ice and wreck. It would certainly be
an interesting concept for a game.

Re: [Audyssey] Model Aircraft and Radio Controlled Vehicles

2011-12-24 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Charles,

Yeah, sort of like that. Although, unlike the fireworks you can take
some enjoyment out of building the model rocket and there is some
enjoyment of being the guy who launches the rocket. Of course as a kid
I found other ways to amuse myself too.

Not sure if I shared this on list before, but one of the things I
liked doing is capturing frogs, toads, and other little animals and
sending them up in the rockets. Sometimes they survived the experience
but most of the time I scared them to death or smashed them flat due
to the g-forces. Lol!

The funniest case I can remember is this time my dad and I built this
large model rocket, it was almost three feet tall, and I wanted to add
a toad to it as a passenger. So my dad and I padded the inside of the
cockpit with cotton, stuck the little guy in there, and prepared to
launch him into space. Now, keep in mind here this rocket had a D
engine, that's a two-stage engine, with a heck a lot of thrust, and
could do a couple thousand feet easy. Basically, this poor toad was
going where no toad had gone before. :D

Anyway, I launched the rocket, the first stage burned out, and the
rocket was way up in the sky at I'd say a thousand feet.
Unfortunately, the engine must have been defective because it didn't
kick in right away, and the rocket began falling out of the sky. So
here it comes, a huge nose dive straight towards the ground, at maybe
250 feet, when the second stage finally kicks in, driving it straight
into the ground at several hundred miles per hour. It hit the ground
and blows apart on impact. Of course, the chute pops out after it hits
the ground, but by then the poor toad's days were numbered. Not that
the chute would have done any good with the second stage engine adding
that much thrust to the descent. My dad and I went over and looked at
the wreckage, and what to our wondering eyes should we see is the
toad totally squished flat, his eyes were bugged out, and he looked
like he was scared crapless. We laughed so hard I think our sides were
going to burst open. That's the kind of devious and demented uses I
put some of the model rockets to.

Cheers!!

There
 isn't any handling

please give me some pointers on how I can make mIRC work well with
JAWS? I know you can configure the mIRC scripts to perform certain
tasks and do things, but I'm just not sure how to make it work with
JAWS. Any advice/help would be appreciated. I realize this is not game
specific, but I felt that it was game related enough for me to ask on

could help me out. /smiles/

2011-12-24 Thread dark

I use M irc for the chat in core exiles.

i'm not sure how this applies to jaws, but I basically just turn off all the
display bar the channel I'm looking at, sinse the last thing you want are
mutliple windows and such, then things are fairly easy with hal's virtual
focus, I just tab to the greaterthan button and read up from there to get
the last messages, and turn off vf and write when i want to chat.

i've also recently discovered if you go left from the file menue there's a
lot of really useful options in the alt bar, including a slef voicing with
sapi.

this I actually find really useful sinse I can here people's replies without
being focused on the m irc window, then just alt tab back and write a quick
response.

Hi Charles,

Yeah, sort of like that. Although, unlike the fireworks you can
take

some enjoyment out of building the model rocket and there is some
enjoyment of being the guy who launches the rocket. Of course as
a kid

I found other ways to amuse myself too.

Not sure if I shared this on list before, but one of the things I
liked doing is capturing frogs, toads, and other little animals
and
sending them up in the rockets. Sometimes they survived the
experience
but most of the time I scared them to death or smashed them flat
due

to the g-forces. Lol!

The funniest case I can remember is this time my dad and I built
this
large model rocket, it was almost three feet tall, and I wanted
to add
a toad to it as a passenger. So my dad and I padded the inside of
the
cockpit with cotton, stuck the little guy in there, and prepared
to

launch him into space. Now, keep in mind here this rocket had a D
engine, that's a two-stage engine, with a heck a lot of thrust,
and
could do a couple thousand feet easy. Basically, this poor toad
was

going where no toad had gone before. :D

Anyway, I launched the rocket, the first stage burned out, and
the

rocket was way up in the sky at I'd say a thousand feet.
Unfortunately, the engine must have been defective because it
didn't
kick in right away, and the rocket began falling out of the sky.
So
here it comes, a huge nose dive straight towards the ground, at
maybe
250 feet, when the second stage finally kicks in, driving it
straight
into the ground at several hundred miles per hour. It hit the
ground
and blows apart on impact. Of course, the chute pops out after it
hits
the ground, but by then the poor toad's days were numbered. Not
that
the chute would have done any good with the second stage engine
adding
that much thrust to the descent. My dad and I went over and
looked at

the wreckage, and what to our wondering eyes should we see is the
toad totally squished flat, his eyes were bugged out, and he
looked
like he was scared crapless. We laughed so hard I think our sides
were
going to burst open. That's the kind of devious and demented uses
I

put some of the model rockets to.

Cheers!!

whoosh, sort of
like a bottle rocket, and that's about it. Bummer. They do
look cool,

though.

Hi Charles,

Well, keep in mind I still had sight when I was into model
rockets,
but the kits usually weren't that difficult to build. Of course,
how
difficult the kit was to build depended on the kit. They ranged
from

beginner models for kids to very advanced models for adults. The
models I built were mostly the beginner models as I was only 9
or 10
years old at the time and the instructions were not that
difficult.

However, I do remember my dad and I did buy one of the more
advanced
kits, the Apollo 11, and that one required my dad's help because
it
was a fairly detailed replication of the Saturn 5 rocket and
Apollo 11
command module. It had to be painted, glued together, and there
were
several detailed decals to add to it. I suppose I could have
done
that one myself, as I was sighted at the time, but couldn't have
done
that one blind as we wanted it to look as close as possible to
the

real thing.

As far as the fuel goes the model rockets use a solid rocket
engine
meaning that it uses a special propellant that comes with the
engine
you buy from the toy store. The fuel and oxidizer are mixed
together
into a propellant that is packed into a solid cylinder which
comes
inside the model rocket engine itself. You use an electric
ignition to
light the engine, and launch the model rocket into the air. Once
you
use the engine you have to replace it before relaunching the
model

rocket as there is no way to refuel it. That's why model rocket
engines generally come three to a pack as you can only use them
once

before throwing them away and buying a new one.

The reason why modern model rockets use solid propellant rather
than
liquid fuels like gas is for safety reasons. Apparently, back in
the
60's when model rockets first became really popular

Well I just got done playing the game call AIAdventure for IOS, and I
have to say the voice control feature is great!
Games that a person can control by voice could be made accessible for
the blind, here is a example of that.
If there was a racing game you would use headphones to be able to hear
the sounds to let you know when you got to turn, and then you would say
the command turn.

You of course would say which way you wanted to turn.
If anyone would please help me find more games like this on the IOS
platform that would be great.

2011-12-24 Thread Phil Vlasak

Hi Michael,
I checked into the pha game where you use your voice to fire at asteroids.
I listened to a demonstration and it sounds like you need sight to locate
the target.
So although you can fire your laser at the asteroids you have no way of
knowing where they are.

Hey, William.
Yes these two games are accessible, and yes all you have to do is say a
command.
For exsample if you wanted to fire at something then you would say fire,
and say what you are firing at.
Below is the links to the two games for anyone that wants to check into it
more.

Re: [Audyssey] Model Aircraft and Radio Controlled Vehicles

2011-12-24 Thread Jim Kitchen

Hi Thomas,

We also did the model rockets. Never had one with a camera though. But behind
what was Grandma Kitchen's back yard is a huge open area where the power lines
go through across route 306 from Lakeland community college, so we had the room
there for our rockets. And on Tyler boulevard in Mentor they had an airfield
just for model airplanes. Dad did have a remote control power boat, but we
never did take it out.

We have a large parking lot where I live, so I take my remote control cars out
and play with them in it. So I have a 1 to 6 scale Hummer. It has lights,
horn, door lock sound and engine sound. The hood, doors and rear hatch all
open and close. It has full spring suspension and an on and off road switch on
the transmission. It also has a three position speed slash gear toggle on the
remote.

My 1969 Camero convertible also is a 1 to 6 scale. It has lights, full suspension
and the hood, trunk and doors open. They actually have latches that you must use to
open them. The steering wheel moves when you turn the wheels with the remote. It I
think is my fastest vehicle. Not sure how fast it goes, but it does easily spin the
wheels if you pull the trigger full to take off. It is actually tough to try to take
off without spinning the wheels. grin

Both of those have allot of detail both inside, outside and even inside of the
engine compartment when you open it.

Then I also have a 1 to 6 scale four wheel ATV. Of course with a Barbie doll
riding behind the dude. She makes it so that it will pop a wheely and hold it
for a bit.

I also have Barbie dolls in the Hummer and Brat dolls in the Camero.

My General Lee I believe might be a 1 to 10 scale. It has lights, the rebel horn and
full suspension. It also is pretty fast. One thing about it though is that it sits
so low to the ground that it is a better indoor car as it has trouble with the cracks
in the sidewalk and the bumps in our driveway. Too bad that it did not come with a
Daisy Duke doll. grin

My Semi-truck I also believe might be a 1 to 10 scale. It has lights. It is
about three and a half foot long all together. Bought it used from a friend.
Not so easy to drive. You know because without seeing it is tough to back it
up.

I think that my Jeep, GTO, Shelby Series 1 and Bat Mobile are all about 1 to 18
scale. My Ford F150 is more like a 1 to 24 scale.

I am pretty much just guessing about the scale of them, except for I am pretty
sure about the 1 to 6 because they are perfect size for a Barbie doll which I
know to be 1 to 6.

The Shelby is also an indoor car. It is pretty fast and very low to the
ground, but the thing about it is, that it has no bumper type protection front
or rear. So I know that if I slammed it into a curb or something that the body
would probably crack.

Re: [Audyssey] Model Aircraft and Radio Controlled Vehicles

2011-12-24 Thread Jim Kitchen

Hi Thomas,

We also had a rocket engine malfunction once. The rocket was a two part
rocket. One part was just to hold the engine and tumble back to the ground.
The second part was a glider airplane. It was pretty cool to watch the glider
gracefully glide in a circular manner back to the ground. So with the D engine
the second boost would separate the two parts of the rocket. But one time the
rocket did not ascend correctly and instead curved over and headed for the
ground. And like your's the booster just drove the rocket straight into the
ground. And I do mean into the ground.

Speaking of into the ground, my Dad had a beautiful scale World War 2 trainer
plane with about a three and a half foot wing span. He was thinking that the
batteries were getting low in the remote, but we talked him into taking it up
once more. Yep the battery died and he lost control of it. It dove into the
ground. We had to dig it out of the ground to recover the engine etc. Another
time he had this Navion plane with a six foot wing span. He accidently flew it
out of range and it just took off. We drove down the road trying to catch up
to it, but never did. Years later a lady called him and said that she had been
doing dishes and looked out the window and thought that a real airplane was
coming right at her house. The plane just landed nicely in her yard.

Re: [Audyssey] Model Aircraft and Radio Controlled Vehicles

2011-12-24 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Jim,

That sounds like a great collection. The Hummer sounds exactly like
mine and it is 1/6th scale for sure. I've got a 12 inch G.I. Joe doll,
Duke, behind the steering wheel, and you know its 1/6th scale if the
12 inch GI Joe's and Barbie dolls can ride in them. Grin.

Which reminds me of one I forgot to mention. I've also got a 1/6th
scale RC Harley Davidson motor cycle, and I've got a Barbie that can
ride on it. I managed to find a collectable Harley Davidson Barbie
doll all dressed up in leather, with a crash helmet, etc and she fits
on the cycle, and my wife and I sometimes take turns having her ride
around our parking lot. What I really like about the RC Harley is
while you are driving it it makes realistic engine noises so I can
hear it burn out, rev, and rumble when standing still.

I think the next RC vehicle I'll be buying is a submarine or I'll get
one of the World War II replica battleships. I've seen huge RC
replicas of the Yomato, Biz mark, Missouri, etc which I'd love to get
my little paws on and drive them in my in-laws pond. Plus there are
some modern replicas of destroyers, aircraft carriers, etc that are
all cool. As a military buff that stuff is right up my alley.

Cheers!

[Audyssey] dark dice, dice roller app

2011-12-24 Thread Phil Vlasak

Hi Folks,
I ran across this iPhone dice rolling app and it does talk,
except it does not tell your the dice roll.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HC2v3zpd8Yk
DARK DICE$0.99
DARK DICE : The iPhone Dice for the dark side

Are your dice gone? No problem: these dice are simulated in the iPhone and
realistically roll around when shaken.

Frank Meyer already offers several dice applications in the App Store. Now
he presents DARK DICE 1.0, his first dice of horror: this time the dark side
gets its own dice. Fantastic animations along with a growling voice in the
Darth Vader style make for fun special effects.

Briefly summarized:

- Simulated dice in 3D for on the go

- Shake the iPhone to roll the dice

- Spine-chilling sounds and voice

- Works with the iPod touch and iPhone

Everyone has been there: The whole family or gang feels like playing an
exciting board game - but the dice are nowhere to be found. It's like
they've all fallen off the face of the earth. No problem: Frank Meyer
presents a new iPhone-App which lets you keep your dice on hand. The DARK
DICE can be installed on all iPhones and iPod touch devices. The special
feature: you can shake the device to roll the die. The 3D animation shows
you the rolling die before it stops, and then you can see the number that
comes up. It's impossible to cheat, the die does not teeter or tip in this
digital version. Everybody in the game can take turns shaking the iPhone.

DARK DICE : Glowing copper, rising hellfire
Frank Meyer already offers several dice in the iTunes AppStore. The new
release 'DARK DICE' is a very special die: It comes from the depths of hell
and looks like it has been forged from red-hot copper by the devil himself.
It even sounds metallic as he crashes onto the floor, and hellfire radiates
out of the numbers.

A game of dice with bad guys is much more fun when this App is used.

You don't need to shake your iPhone to roll the dice of the dark side,
tapping the screen works too, especially if you don't want to risk dropping
your device.

Requirements :

Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 3.0 or later
