Hi Desiree,

The spam message we got on list didn't originate from your account. It
came from another member. So no worries. Still, I hope you get your
own spam issues worked out as spam is a nasty problem we all have to
deal with at one time or another. :D

messages that I had apparently sent out to all the lists I'm
subscribed to, along with everyone else. So I'm doing my best to clean
up the damage, I've changed my password, and I hope that takes care of
it. Again, I sincerely apologize.

Hi Lisa,

No it wasn't you. The original message that kicked off this topic was
from Orial Gomez's account. We have isolated that account, and are
monitoring it for any potential spam messages. In addition it appears
Desiree's account was hacked and we did get a couple of spams from
there as well, but it is no big deal to filter out that stuff as we
are on it and are monitoring the source of the spam messages.

Hi Dark,

I'm glad your ID is working now.

There are two ways to get to the bottom of a page. You can just put your
finger on the bottom of the screen and VO will go there, or you can touch
the bottom of the screen with four fingers at once and VO will go to the
very last item on the page. This also works with the top of the screen, so
when you touch the top with four fingers, VO will go to the very first item

Hope that helps, and have fun gaming with your new Iphone. *smiles*

I have certainly played them in the past, and not all that long ago either.
I find boppit ultimate, light locator and light cars great to pick up and

Blankblock is less my thing sinse I'm not really good at spacial puzzles,
but treasuremania 1 I was most impressed with, the soundscape for the game
is one of the best I've seen, it really makes you feel cold and wet without
actually being there.

Given the massive improvements in the quality of their games, it's actually
really sad they split up and haven't developed anything further sinse
goodness knows where things could have gone.

I've actually not heard from Parham or Yakir in a while either, though I've
seen Rob around the audiogames.net forum occasionally and he's even hinted

that yet.

[Audyssey] help contacting shard workshop

2012-11-17 Thread Alex Wallis

Hi list,
I am wondering, does anyone have a contact e mail address for shard
workshop? or its owner lorenzo which I guess amounts to the same thing.
as I bought zero site recently, and would like to make contact with the
developer,
but the documentation says to use the forum which according to the
website is disabled, perhaps the documentation should be updated to
actually give proper contact information,
as the website doesn't provide e mail addresses either, and lorenzos
official website link on the homepage is broken as well.

I have a few questions and suggestions for the developer and a few
problems as well, as I keep getting lots of errors to do with sounds,

I have also had trouble with the engines turning off and not coming back on.
I also find the games coordinate system very confusing and would like to
suggest adding in some kind of autopilot system to make navigation easier.

Thanks for any help,
Alex.

2012-11-17 Thread john
Hmmm, I forget exactly where stuff is on cordon and slo, but
here's my best guesses:
The tower you mentioned is actually more easily accessable (at
least for me) through the forest path. Just go east out of
indira, follow the path. Once you leave the old forest, it's the
first southern turnoff. As far as the druid, look at the sign in
the center of indira.

Hi I'm on a quest in Alter Aoen, and I cna't figure out how to

alchemist's tower. When I headed to the junkyard, I heard it was
either
northwest or northeast of the junkyard, but when I got a quest

this game.
I should have kept notes while I was wandering around. I found a
menhir

circle with druids, but cannot for the life of me find it again.

Is there a blog or what not that has a place where I can ask
this sort of
thing without irritating too many people? It's like when I was

Same thing

[Audyssey] King of dragon price?

2012-11-17 Thread dark
Hi.

I've been to the A sharp site, (easy to remember as that's generally the
highest note a tenor has to sing! :D).

I've looked at the manual and tips and such, and the game looks very nice,
however just because I'm new to vo, I'd appreciate trying it first if possible,
particularly because seven quid, while not the earth is still a trifle on the
expensive side for an Iphone game.

I believe Zack mentioned something about the game being shareware, ie, that
there is a demo to play before trying the full version, and certainly that's
how it's listed on the audiogames.net db, however I don't see anything like
that on the ap store entry.

Is there a demo version, and if so, how do I try it?

if not, never mind, I'll just buy the thing and chance it, although it does
slightly sound like jumping in at the deep end as far as vo is concerned.

If however there were a demo mode I'd appreciate trying it, particularly
because my stupid service provider still! hasn't activated my phone on their
mobile network so I can't actually phone anybody.

Hi dark, there's no demo available, you must purchase the game to try it. It
works well with vo, it just takes getting used to.
I particularly find the game very hard to play because there are many things
that you should remember, so much info, for example sacrificing to x god will
give you certain benefits, some years are better to harvest, to attack other
clans, etc. also there's the map which is a bit confusing for me, but if you
like explorations, RPGs and storytelling get it, I know you will like it. Happy
playing!

x god will give you certain benefits, some years are better to harvest,
to attack other clans, etc. also there's the map which is a bit confusing
for me, but if you like explorations, RPGs and storytelling get it, I know
you will like it. Happy playing!

Hi,

the new version of Vipmud works with NVDA.
MushZ, the custom client for the mud Alter Aeon works with NVDA
too, you

also could play other muds with that.

Try looking on audiogames.net for these clients.

Best regards

There's no demo for the iPHONE version that I'm aware of so you'll
just have to purchase it. Be patient with it and I can pretty much
garantee you won't be disappointed. It's got so much depth and
replayability that it's worth every penny of it's admitedly high
price. There's my review of it on applevis.com and a podcast I did
more recently but that's all there is to go on. There's no demo
version. It was sold as shareware on the PC but that version was
completely inaccessible. Best of luck to you. It's great single-player
fun that you don't need to be online to enjoy.

2012-11-17 Thread Harmony Neil
Hellow,
Explorer points are just giving you gold and a bit of xp when you explore
new areas, but you can spend combat points on spells or skills you already
know, to improve them rather than using practices. I'm not sure what
adventure points are for though.
Hope that helps,

Re: [Audyssey] light game query

2012-11-17 Thread Desiree Oudinot
I still play Light Cars and Light Locator when I get bored. I Like
BopIt Ultimate as well, but not as much, since I think the keyboard
layout is a bit clunky, and never could quite get the hang of it
enough to be really good at it. But the comment was made that these
games can get repetitive. Well, with the exception of Light Locator, I
disagree, and to me, even that's a bit of a stretch. Light Cars
requires good reflexes the higher you go, which keeps you on your toes
and interested, not to mention you don't always get the same bonus
items every time. I also like the car sounds a lot, and was thinking
about adapting them into Top Speed cars. With BopIt, as I said, the
keyboard setup alone should keep you interested. To be honest, I
haven't played Treasure Mania enough to know much about it, but I
might try to get back into it, and as for Light Locator, I agree that
when you play that game, it's the kind of thing you can play once and
be done with it for awhile, but it was a very interesting concept.
It's really a shame that these guys stopped developing games, I was
looking forward to what they would do next.

Re: [Audyssey] light game query

2012-11-17 Thread dark

Hi desiri.

On the point of repetition, well these games were never intended to be more
than arcade style rack up score games, it's part of the genre that they are
not deep or overly complex or require massive amounts of playing to win,
even though each game was more full featured than the last.

That's actually another reason I'm sorry lighttech stopped developng, sinse
it would've been interesting to see what they could've done outside the
genre and restrictions of arcade style games.

As to the boppit keyboard, well I'd not say it was clunky so much as it was
part of the games' challenge, to more accurately reflect the boppit hand
held game, indeed I'd actually say in several ways lighttech's is superior
to the boppit games I've played both in it's sounds, and in the use of
keyboard, and boppit style games with simpler key layouts can quickly
become very dull as a couple of examples show.

thanks a lot for those links, I'll be interested to investigate them. The
only thing however is how current is the version of the game you made them

There's no demo for the iPHONE version that I'm aware of so you'll
just have to purchase it. Be patient with it and I can pretty much
garantee you won't be disappointed. It's got so much depth and
replayability that it's worth every penny of it's admitedly high
price. There's my review of it on applevis.com and a podcast I did
more recently but that's all there is to go on. There's no demo
version. It was sold as shareware on the PC but that version was
completely inaccessible. Best of luck to you. It's great single-player

Re: [Audyssey] accessible virtual pets?

2012-11-17 Thread dark

Hi Jess.

It depends upon what you mean by virtual pets there are no actual
programs that create a virtual pet on your pc that I can think of, but there
are a good few brouser based games themed around pets of various sorts which
you might want to take a look at, many have pages in the db on
www.audiogames.net.

The most literal virtual pet care game I can think of is furry paws. This is
a virtual dog training game where you train, feed, play with and breed dogs,
own a kennel, get a job as a dog breeder or trainer, and exhibit your dogs
in shows. It's a very well designed game that is easy to navigate and is not
just accessible but actively friendly towards vi players (they even lable
the images of dog's colour).

The only reason I don't play it myself is that as I have! a guide dog who I
take care of each day, she's actually lying on my feet now, taking care of
virtual dogs on the internet just seems a pale immitation to me.

if your interested in real animals, www.whitestic.co.uk's games to play
online page lists several games for showing dogs, cats and horses on it's
games to play online page. I've never tried these so don't know what they're
like, but they're there.

Then, moving away from real animals, the most literal pet game I can think
of is psy pets. this is a game where you care for fantasy creatures. They
don't however battle or fight monsters or do rpg things, rather they grow,
develope, create objects and follow their own calling. The game is based
around Abraham maslow's higherarchy of needs, so you need to not just see
your pets are fed, but also increase their self esteem levels and feelings
of being loved. In return you can see your pets grow, take on interests and
eventually exell in what they do, as well as build and trade the items
they create for in game money.

A really interesting game in fact, particularly because it is so freeform,
though I found it a little slow for my taste sinse each pet only gets one
action an hour.

then there are several games which like pokemon are themed around batling,
training, breeding and competing in tournaments with various sorts of
fantasy type monsters.

puppet nightmares features looking after soul puppets, but has an amazingly
complex gameplay and battle system and is thus not for the feint of heart,
though it does have a great story and surreal atmosphere albeit one that is
hugely complex and quite bizarre.

monster breeder has a great story and plot, interesting battles and monsters
that can work, evolve, train and be spliced together to make stronger
monsters. The only real problem with that game is that it isn't finished,
and updates are rare, though there is still a lot to do in terms of
exploring the map, questing and the like, actually I'd really! recommend
monster breeder as an rpg, albeit that the pet elements aren't as strong as
they could be.

That's a selection of all the pet care games I can think of at the second.

beware the Grue!

Wow aprone this game rocks! quite literally.
wow Aprone, this game rocks! it's a solid concept, and I was completely
stoned with all the dence detail and stratified gameplay you included.

it contains all the firey excitement of a raging volcano and encapsulates
the history of the earth over millions of years in one short, round, package
of total history.

Stone the crows! but this is good! all the thrills, spills and chills of a
real pet rock, it's diverse behaviours and complex life cycle in one handy
game, this must've taken hours of stubborn, hard headed persistance to code
such a deeply complex and engaging game!

If I had a large enough catapult I'd send you a real pet rock as a thank
you, a really! big one sent really! fast! sinse that would fully
encapsulate what I think you deserve for this total classic of a game :D.

Btw, on an actually serious note, I'm amazed to learn that someone did!
create a pet rock, business people will try to sell anything, usually
because there's always some numbscull around who will buy it.

a fully featured audio pet rpg would be pretty awsome though.

Hi,

If you have an iOS device like the iPhone or iPod Touch, there's an app
called Hatchi, which is a retro virtual pet. It is accessible with
Voiceover, and initially I thought about buying it. However, and this is
just me, I began to wonder if it might get boring after awhile. Maybe if
they make it available for free for a limited time at some point, which
sometimes happens with apps, I'll get it then.

Hope this helps.

The game is fully accessible as far as I can tell. I haven't found
anything I can't do or any information I can't read. They've gone to
incredible efforts and are still eager for any input. They've done a
heeping lot of work since the game's initial release and the result is
a spectacular example of accessibility. I don't know what else I can
tell you. Check out my podcast and review and keep in mind that
updates have occurred since the review. The podcast was somewhat more
recent.

It works well with vo, it just takes getting used to.
I particularly find the game very hard to play because there are many

2012-11-17 Thread Desiree Oudinot
Hi Dark,
That's true. It does add to the challenge. It has been several years
since I played the BopIt game, so maybe I just need to go back and try
again. As for Light Cars, that was always my favorite game that they
did, because, as I said, I always enjoyed the sounds of the cars and
the challenge of trying to get a higher level than I did last time,
and the fact that each car has its own set of advantages and
drawbacks. For being an arcade-style game, it's actually quite good. I
tend to play games that require fast reflexes and lots of action, so
that's another reason I really enjoy that particular game.

On 11/17/12, dark d...@xgam.org wrote:
 Hi desiri.

On the point of repetition, well these games were never intended to be more

than arcade style rack up score games, it's part of the genre that they are

even though each game was more full featured than the last.

[Audyssey] Kodp questions

2012-11-17 Thread dark
Hi.

well I've got the game, and played through the tutorial and it is awsome!
albeit that I have much to learn about the gods, mythos etc.
I do however have a couple of more practical questions.

Firstly, hints on? the manual (which I have read), advised turning hints on
for use with voice over, and I seem to remember that being said elsewhere too,
yet I see nothing in the controls section of the menue about hints at all. Has
this option changed in more recent updates, or am I missing something.

Secondly, the only screens I'm having major trouble with at the moment are the
screens that list your nobles, like the ring reorganize screen, and the screens
for choosing leaders of exploration parties or caravans or the like. the basic
problem is I don't know how to check people's info.If I double tap on a
person's name, it selects them and I can't find where to look for their
information such as their stats and what god they worship. am I just missing
something here? I found the similar info about clans on the relations page, but
as regards people I can't seem to.

then, I'm not exactly sure what the filters do sinse I can't really tell what
they've done in terms of changing order, and the filter doesn't automatically
select someone with next best stats, and i'm not sure if it changes the order
of people or even how as regards flicking through them with vo.

I also need to think about this explore button thing, sinse I hit the wrong one
during the tutorial and probably sent off a warrior to do an explorer's job! :d.

Lastly, a miner point, but when I double tap an adviser on my ring to get their
advice, vo gets half way through speaking it then goes back to the person's
name and info and I have to find the advice panel again to see what the adviser
has said. Again, if there's an obvious way around this I'd appreciate knowing.

other than that, I'm very impressed thus far!

Beware the Grue!

dark.

be as safe as you can be.

If you still feel scared, you can reformat every few months.
It won't do anything really but it may make you feel happier.
Ofcause it goes without saying if you use any ms account they are
always targeted.

gmail is really good from the get go.
You may need sight to set up the account due to recapcha being a real
pig but once done its really good.
If you are that scared put the 2 step varification which sends codes
at your phone whenever you want to access it.

you will need passwords for each app though.
If you are really paranoid like me, don't link anything to your gmail.
I have aol for aim, and my printer company for support but twitter I
don't have same with facebook, I have an apple account but my email
is not listed.

Re: [Audyssey] Kodp questions

2012-11-17 Thread Zachary Kline
Hi Dark,
I'll address your questions below individually.
On Nov 17, 2012, at 11:46 PM, dark d...@xgam.org wrote:

Firstly, hints on? the manual (which I have read), advised turning hints
on for use with voice over, and I seem to remember that being said elsewhere
too, yet I see nothing in the controls section of the menue about hints at
all. Has this option changed in more recent updates, or am I missing
 something.

The hints in question are a VoiceOver feature, not a game option. You would
probably remember turning them off, and they are on in any case by default.
One way to toggle them is to add them to your voiceover rotor, and adjust
them that way. As suggested though, leave them on.

Secondly, the only screens I'm having major trouble with at the moment are
the screens that list your nobles, like the ring reorganize screen, and the
screens for choosing leaders of exploration parties or caravans or the like.
the basic problem is I don't know how to check people's info.If I double tap
on a person's name, it selects them and I can't find where to look for their
information such as their stats and what god they worship. am I just missing
something here? I found the similar info about clans on the relations page,
but as regards people I can't seem to.

You do not have to double tap a person to get their info. Simply hover over
them for a few seconds, without moving or otherwise interacting with them,
and you will hear their stats and info read out. As a matter of fact, this is
a direct consequence of the hints you mentioned above.

then, I'm not exactly sure what the filters do sinse I can't really tell what
they've done in terms of changing order, and the filter doesn't automatically
select someone with next best stats, and i'm not sure if it changes the order
of people or even how as regards flicking through them with vo.

To use a filter, move to it and flick your finger up and down. You do not
actually need to double tap it, just move the finger up and down as though
you were assigning battle magic for instance. What they will do is sort the
leaders according to the stats selected, so you will find the order changes
when you use them. They are particularly handy in reorganizing the ring.

I also need to think about this explore button thing, sinse I hit the wrong
one during the tutorial and probably sent off a warrior to do an explorer's
 job! :d.

Lastly, a miner point, but when I double tap an adviser on my ring to get
their advice, vo gets half way through speaking it then goes back to the
person's name and info and I have to find the advice panel again to see what
the adviser has said. Again, if there's an obvious way around this I'd
 appreciate knowing.

Unfortunately, this last point seems to be a problem of the way voiceover
works. The behavior is a little inconsistent, but if you practice you can
eventually get the advice one way or another. I'm not sure if there's anything
the developers can do on their side to change that.
I'm glad you like the game. :-) I hope you continue to enjoy it, and that this
answer has been helpful.
