Re: [Audyssey] Storm8 games information
Sean, I'm a little confused what you mean by class of gamers there and what this actually has to do with storm8 games, all I meant as that I'd like to hear from a fan of the games since people obviously enjoy them, indeed having now heard Raul's demo I'm interested to know how the pets live game differs from the others. As to your assessment, it strikes me as a little unfair. Some people just prefer simple games, others lack certain abilities. Myself, as I just said in my reply to phil's message though I'm a fairly serious game player I do not have good spacial logic or comprehention, meaning grid based games with multiple elements where only limited views of the grid are found in audio such as solitare or suodku (let alone chess or even draughts), are not that easy for me. As regards mainstream games, well I wouldn't personally regard it as "levels" of ggamers or anything like that, just people's patience and expectations. It is possible to learn anything if you take the time with it and invest the energy. That is really the point in the db deffinition about access however, how much energy is "reasonable" to invest in a game. Myself, having played game svisually, while I am! used to expending more effort in playing a graphical game, I do like to at least have a vague idea what is going on, seeing the difference betwene my character and their surroundings etc, thus for me at least, playing mainstream games by sound is just an exercize in frustration, but obviously for others with more patience, or without my initial expectations that is not the case, heck I've met people with my! level of site who do not expend the effort playing even the graphically simpler more retro games that I do since they do not want the effort of having to guess what object is what, learn menues and other screens etc. Remember games are a hobby, and therefore a matter of choice, if a person hasn't heard of accessible games and only! been introudced to board or card games, that is what they will expect until they are shown differently, the rest is up to them. Re: [Audyssey] Robo-E by MPaja software
Well Phil that is what I thought, though whether that is enough of an overview to get a clear impression of everythig that is in the grid I don't know, particularly since the layouts of some sokoban puzzles can be very complex, and require understanding of the entire playing area. I'll wait and see people's thoughts on this one before I commit cash, since I couldn't play this graphically on a screen as small as my Iphone and I will freely admit reviewing and memorizing grid patterns in audio when you can only get limited information is not something I'm good at, one reason I don't play any audio solitare or sudoku games, let alone chess (I'd need a tactile board). Re: [Audyssey] Storm8 games information
The ones I played were fairly boring, they're all basically clones of each other with different missions based on the settings. You click the same button over and over to do a mission to build up experience, money and such, you buy items and units to unlock new missions, there's no text describing the mission or what you actually did, it just says your mission was successful, and there's a pretty large PVP element. I can't remember if there's penalties for being attacked but I do know it's a large part of the game. They also tend to be fairly donation heavy. Basically, think of it as Dragon Tavern without the unique classes and with a couple more options aside from exploring. -- From: "dark" Sent: Sunday, March 17, 2013 07:57 PM To: Subject: [Audyssey] Storm8 games information hello. [Audyssey] Robo-E by MPaja software
Robo-E by MPaja software. Robo-E is in charge of cleaning up the galaxy from toxic waste. But he needs your help as his positronic brain is confused after a nearby supernova went off. You must guide Robo-E in pushing all the red waste balls on top of the yellow energy rings to activate their transfer to hyperspace. Robo-E brings you the classic game of Sokoban with beautiful graphics and and intuitive UI. Includes hundreds of built in levels. Sokoban originally was a Japanese puzzle that involved moving boxes around a room. Without planning several moves in advance you could easily box yourself in. Robo-E is a spin on this classic puzzle with a Sci-Fi theme. You play on a grid with walls, Robo-E, your character, balls and energy rings. Different levels have different layouts like a 5 by 5 grid, 6 by 6, etc. You can have more than one ball at a time. you push the balls in the empty spaces and finally into the energy rings. Robo-E is playable with Voice Over, so for the ultimate challenge activate Voice Over from the device settings and play blindfolded, trusting only your touch and ears. The three finger swipe to move only works if the user has VoiceOver on. On the very first level you are above the ball in the starting position. The energy ring is below the ball. So you just need to swipe down. :) Both you and the ball are blocked by the walls. Once a ball is in an energy ring, you can't move over it. Often you in fact need to push a ball away from an energy ring temporarily in order to get access to another ball. Or sometimes a ball sits on an energy ring already at the beginning of a level, but must be moved away, temporarily, to end up on another energy ring. Only in the end all the energy rings need to be occupied to complete the level. Once a ball is against a wall it can not be moved off it, but can be moved along it. So if a ball and energy ring are on the same wall, only that ball can go in that energy ring, even if there is another ball closer to the ring. If you move a ball to the corner, there is no way to get it out from there, except by undoing the move. Even though the rules are simple, the locations of the walls, balls and rings make the game almost as complicated as chess. This type of puzzle is very challenging, and your success like in a chess game, will depend on how many moves ahead you can store in your mind. version 1.4 released March 16, 2013 added new sounds and support for Game Center. And Translations to Finnish, French, Italian, Portuguese. There is now a different sound for moving one square, going over multiple squares, pushing the ball, pushing the ball over ring, trying to push a ball that cannot move, and bumping into walls. Game Center support is also there for high-score tracking. It is a very simple dice game where you roll one die, and are faced with two options: Roll or Hold. Every roll of the dice increases your score, except if you roll a one. If you roll a one, you loose ALL your points scored for that turn, and the next person goes. Your goal is to rack up as many points as you can and Hold (allowing the next person to go), before you roll a 1. It's simple - but fun to play with friends. You can read documentation on this game by visiting: http://zanosoft.net/zgp/doc/pig.html. As always, visit www.rsgames.org to learn more about us, and register for a free account to start playing any of our titles.
