Re: [Audyssey] just wondering If anyone is still into msfs...
Well I think you did got just the issue I'm having, I go to control panel, it gives me an error and the meter will stay at 0 until I run sapisvr. To make things more fun, though, I can't get iyp to install. this click once deployment thing seems very unstable, to me at least. it worked once, then when I got everything set up again with a better mic and all it would just plain refuse to work. - Original Message - From: shaun everiss sm.ever...@gmail.com To: Gamers Discussion list gamers@audyssey.org Sent: Tuesday, January 25, 2011 12:16 AM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] just wondering If anyone is still into msfs... well to be honest, it seems at least with xp that if you have the sapi 5.1 recognisers and then load office or something that uses updated recognisers, things can break. You can get round this partually with the sapisvr command but that only works once I guess you could have sapisvr run on startup, and every time you run any stuff that uses speech rec then that works but only for that instance after that it breaks again. I attempted but couldn't figure out training for it. The only way to really fix it is to reformat, though this part of sapi will break without warning and I am not sure why. Re: [Audyssey] just wondering If anyone is still into msfs...
Hi, Oh don't we all hate time. :D Anyway, fs passengers is an add-on for microsoft flight sim to, ur, add virtual passengers as well as some crew. You will have a co-pilot warning you about a few events (That could perhaps be useful), an attendent giving announcements, etc. you will also have to surve food, drinks, play movies, etc, as well as having some more failures. IE once I was taking off and I experienced a birdstrike and lost one of my engines forcing me to land. more like crash, but oh well. You can get reports either durring the flight or after it ends (either by a successful landing or a crash) telling you what the passengers thought, giving you some averages and telling you about casualties if there were any. - Original Message - From: Milos Przic milos.pr...@gmail.com To: Gamers Discussion list gamers@audyssey.org Sent: Monday, January 24, 2011 9:25 PM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] just wondering If anyone is still into msfs... [Audyssey] help with heli
Hi ken, I got this game and I must say I quite like it, however I don't understand something. How exactly do you move. I'm for instance trying to smash the tv. what I do is hit home until the little click comes from my left instead of the right, then I begin to hold page up to accelerate, then I use my left arrow until I hear a click on my left (where the tv is I think). but when I hold up arrow it just begins flying in circles or that's what it sounds like. I can shoot it to turn it off but can't find it to smash it. likewise I'm trying to hit the light switch but can't. in the manual you say to get 5 feet into the air, but I keep hitting page up but can never get the z access high until I eventually hit the seeling. at that point there's a bug, because I can only hear the fan and the tv but not the helicopters. so it's hard to fly around at that point. Nice idea though. take care! - Peter Mahach |piterm...@gmail.com msn: pitermac...@hotmail.com skype (not very often): pitermach twitter: http://www.twitter.com/pitermach webpage: http://pmsworld.weisi4u.de/ __ Information from ESET Smart Security, version of virus signature database 5266 (20100709) __ The message was checked by ESET Smart Security. http://www.eset.com --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org. I usually play on either household or star trek. I like the game however I kind of miss some of the things you had in your dos version, such as those little fanfare sounds when you got a sequence right/lost, that drip sound for the go message rather than a windows beep, the way it actually gave you your reaction times, and the multiplayer option. Re: [Audyssey] thinking of coding a game dtmf guess
hi nicol, dtmf stands for something like dual tone modulating frequencies or something like that. Ok, ever dialed a phone? did you hear those little beeps? Those are dtmf's. That are used by switching Equipment to see what number you dialed. They're also used by voicemale's to know what number you pressed so that you can navigate the menus. Each key has its own sound. - Original Message - From: NIcol nicoljaco...@telkomsa.net To: 'Gamers Discussion list' gamers@audyssey.org Sent: Wednesday, January 12, 2011 8:52 PM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] thinking of coding a game dtmf guess Sounds interesting! Re: [Audyssey] Last Chance to Save on Three-D Velocity!
I so agree with you on this thomas - Original Message - From: Thomas Ward thomasward1...@gmail.com To: Gamers Discussion list gamers@audyssey.org Sent: Thursday, December 30, 2010 4:56 PM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] Last Chance to Save on Three-D Velocity! Hi, Agreed. For a game to go on sale for $50 it would have to be pretty good. Not only quality but have decent replay value as well. Of course, labor is a factor too, but if you make a mistake during development weather it is having to redo dialog, rerecord a sscene, fix a bug, etc that cost should not be passed off to the customer since it was the developer's own mistake. For example, most people know I've been working on Mysteries of the Ancients for roughly two years. First, we discovered Managed DirectX 9 was causing the game to crash so we rewrote the engine in C++ using DirectX 8,and later we converted DirectX to SFML 1.6. Soon after beta 14 was released we discovered a bunch of new bugs in the engine caused by SFML. So we are rewriting a big part of the engine once again. If I were to put a price tag on the labor involved I could easily ask for $50 for the game, but I won't do that. Why? Well, in large part many of the problems were my fault. The game was pretty stable using DirectX 8, but chose to give SFML 1.6 a try and that ended up being a major mistake on my part. I shouldn't expect customers to pay extra for the game since I have to rewrite a lot of stuff to fix the problems caused by SFML. That's unfair to the customer since it was my mistake and not their mistake. So if TDV is marked up because of someone having to stay up late or retake scenes that's just wrong in my book. I often stay up late working on MOTA, but I don't ask for a penny extra. I chose to stay up rather than work on it on weekends or some other time. Re: [Audyssey] Link to the fully expanded install folder for Z+Angband0.33beta

All the files from 0.32beta are there with the updated files from 0.33beta. I can't go into a lengthy discussion about how to play this game, there are text files in the lib\help directory that will give you the gist, though the accessibility commands aren't covered, so I will summarize these below. When you run the game, you will be notified that you should use the file/new command to create a character. Once you have done this, you will need to hit = to go into the options. You will need to select the birth options and enable the blindness accessibility mode. In the display option, you will need to enable the option to include coordinates with the look command. These features aren't yet documented, but the options.txt file in the lib\help directory will tell you how to do these things. Once you have gone through and created your character, you will make a lot of use of the l look command. Hit l then spacebar to cycle through a list of everything interesting your character can see. Each item will have a set of coordinates relative to your current position as in 3n 2w for something 3 north and 2 west of you. You will have to navigate by hand, as there is currently no way to automatically go to an object. The second command you will use is $ which is a special command that the dev has added for accessibility. It presents a series of lists of information you can gather about the world around you. I'm still learning exactly how to use this best, so explore. Be aware that from a list, you will have to hit escape twice to get back to the main game display. One other acce3ssibility hack I would recommend is changing the graphics from the ASCII characters to one of the tile sets. This seems counterintuitive, but the ASCII characters actually overwhelm you with information you can't make effective use of unless you have a Braille display. The tiles view reduces this glut to something you get on demand instead of every time you move your character one space. A final note, this game and testing of the accessibility hacks in it aren't for the easily frustrated. I've spent an hour and a half just moving around the town and down into the first level of the dungeon, where I've killed a centipede, an icky thing and a brown snake, while wandering around a bit lost looking for other things to do and trying to master the best way of using the accessibility hacks. I don't think this game is ever going to be playable with the ease of Entombed or Shades of Doom, which have the interface designed for nonvisual play from the git-go. On the other hand, it's very much more open-ended than anything we can play other than a MUD, so I'm going to stick with the process and see if I can't come up with some suggestions for making the game better for us. If anyone wants to join me in this effort, I'm sure the dev will appreciate it. Re: [Audyssey] Accessibility Article
well those kind of apps were around since, even 2000. if you go on the old main menu archives you can get audio demos of them. They usually relied on microsoft agent (the character thingies that pop up and do stuff, they can use sapi to speak) to do things such as say date/time, speak the clipboard, do a reminder or even read out the mail to you. A good example of such an app that's still around is cyber buddy. - Original Message - From: Thomas Ward thomasward1...@gmail.com To: Gamers Discussion list gamers@audyssey.org Sent: Saturday, December 25, 2010 9:33 PM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] Accessibility Article Hi Dark, Smile. Well, glad to help. Actually, there have been a number of mainstream programs out there like this that use Sapi voices. Text To Audio, Text Aloud, and the Cepstral voices comes with a program called Swift Talker or something like that. People have been buying and using these types of programs for years in the publishing industry, and that's not the only use for them either. As I said earlier Sapi voices are employed in all kinds of mainstream applications. For example, Omnipage, written by Scansoft, uses the Scansoft voices to read aloud scanned documents in Omnipage. I imagine this feature wasn't added just for accessibility, but is appreciated by corperations that would like to have documents read aloud as they are scanned etc. This is another case in point how adding accessibility into a product from the start just works out for everybody. Anyway, if you want your writer friends to get a nice text to audio type program tell them to head over to http://www.nextup.com and check out Text Aloud as well as the various voices they have available for it. Re: [Audyssey] River Raiders
well when you are at the booth (you hear a bell, much higher than the one meaning you picked up a key) you can hit enter to make, ur, something, happen. What happens is purely random Some more help. -Coin sounds mean coins. if you hear a constant jingling noise like something falling that's a key. There is also another sound for a key which seems to be in stereo and sounds like a few large keys jingling. a low bell means you've picked a key up. Ghosts. Well, when you hear someone singing/what ever that is, a ghost will show up. If you hear something like a ruff growl kind of like a lion, those ghosts need to be avoided as good as possible, because they will kill you. If you hear another kind of growl which is a cross between an elephant or a dinosaur (best way I can describe it), those willmake you drop coins and may possibly warp you to another part of the river. When you're avoiding don't go left or right. they're too fast if you move that way and will most likely get you. I find moving up or down is a better strategy and if you surface (your character will gasp and splash a little) no ghost can harm you so then you can move away left/right. - Original Message - From: Liam Erven liamer...@gmail.com To: 'Gamers Discussion list' gamers@audyssey.org Sent: Saturday, December 25, 2010 2:26 AM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] River Raiders Yes. Last night my mom called me and told me that my oldest step sister died under extremely tragic circomstances. At this point in time the police are ruling it out is a suicide. To say that this comes as a shocking suprise for the family and is very sad is an understatement. Although, my step sister and I were never close I still feel sad and extremely disappointed in how she chose to end her life. I feel extremely sorry for my neace who will be cellibrating this and every other Christmas without her mother. I also feel deeply sorry for my step father who lost a daughter, and my surviving step sisters who lost one of their sisters. For them Christmas will never ever be the same. For those of you who have faith in a religious background please pray for them in this time of morning and grief. Also pray for my step sister that perhaps she can find happiness in death that she never could in this life time. Moreover, never forget to tell your closest ffriends, family, and other loved ones that you love them. Remember that there is nothing more precious than life, and that no matter how bad life gets at times that taking your own life without a good cause is the greatest tragity of all. Finally, I wish to leave you with something that I learned from this experience. Remember to forgive those who have wronged you, and try to make, if possible, peace with everyone that you can. Especially, those who are your family and friends. Nothing is more tragic than what happened in my sisters' case. I'm not going to get into details and specifics, but one thing I can say is that my oldest sister was troubled. In her death she left behind a lot of unsettled arguments with my step father, my younger step sisters, her grandparents, and things were said in the heat of the moment to each other that can never be taken back or settled in this life time. My youngest step sister, for example, vowed never to see my oldest step sister again in this life time, and now, of course, she never will. My youngest step sister has to live with the guilt of allowing her personal feelings get in the way of making peace with her sister when she could have. Moreover, she now realises she wasn't there for her sister when she went over the emotional brink and took her own life when she needed her family, her loved ones, more than ever. So the lesson I want to pass on to each and every single one of you is don't let your anger, your personal differences, etc go so far that you have to live each and every day of your life regretting the things you have said and done. Make your peace while you have time, and tell those you love that you love them. Let them know you care regardless of how angry you might be at them. You will never know when tomorrow is simply too late to say, I'm sorry. I love you. --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org. December 6th, 2010 We've had a lot of contact recently asking if people will be able to use Papa Sangre on their device - so here's the coup. First of all, you'll need an iOS device - we will not initially be supporting Android devices at all. This is because the binaural engine we are using in the game is incredibly demanding on a processor. Apple's iOS 4 includes a maths library called Accelerate, which helps programmers speed up their floating point calculations. Without this, we couldn't bring Papa Sangre to you at all. Once version 1 is out, we're going to look at porting Papa Sangre to Android - we're more likely to do so if you tell us you want it! Secondly, you'll need to be running iOS v4.1 at least. Fire up iTunes, connect your device, and under the Info pane for your device, check you have the latest version of iOS. Thirdly, you'll need to be running an iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod touch (4th generation) or iPad . . to be clear, Papa Sangre does NOT support the original iPhone, iPhone 3G or any iPod touch but the current version. We wish it did, but we just can't make it work with stability on those devices. If you have a 4th generation device, we're able to unlock even more audio goodness, similar to how powerful graphics cards on computers give you greater textures or frame rates. In our case this means 'procedural reverb' that gives you more detail and realism about the size and shape of room you're in. [Audyssey] 22k vs 44k, was: Re: Creating game levels to scale?
***constructive critisyzm follows*** Um. I thought we were supposed to make audio games more mainstream like? but yet, it seems as though we're still restricting our selves in a way? I understand how older games used to drop sound qualitydue to size. But now, even most mainstream games are using cd quality 44100khz 16 bit sound. I personally see a major experience improvement with that kind of quality. That's one reason I so love work that liam and phillip did with the sounds being so hq. MOTA also used to be like this, but with b14 I did notice that drop of quality which I really don't like. if this is such a major problem just use something like ogg to compress the size. Hi Philip, Yeah, I get what your saying. The mixer is definitely a huge factor in over all game performance. In fact, that is one reason why I switched bakc to Streemway for the Windows releases. When I used OpenAL for Windows it used a massive amount of memory to load the same amount of sound data that I had in DirectX and performance went way down. Switching back to Streemway performance went way back up. Plus reducing the sound quality from 44100 KHZ to 22500 KHZ made a massive improvement in over all system performance as well. __ Information from ESET Smart Security, version of virus signature database 5266 (20100709) __ The message was checked by ESET Smart Security. http://www.eset.com --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org. Re: [Audyssey] Q9 upcoming patch
Hi, a few people on klango were suggesting a couple new cheats. I remember at least 2, one suggestion for a cheat was rapid fire on the sling, and another was longer time on deus shields. - Original Message - From: Philip Bennefall phi...@blastbay.com To: Gamers Discussion list gamers@audyssey.org Sent: Saturday, October 16, 2010 11:06 PM Subject: [Audyssey] Q9 upcoming patch Hi all, I am making a little Q9 patch, version 1.2. I was wondering if there are any small changes that you would like to see? The change log currently looks like this: Version 1.2: Added: It is now possible to get the secret weapon from within the actual game, rather than as a cheat code only. Changed: Fortune fields now have a higher chance of giving rather than taking away strength. Changed: In the regular playing mode, extra strength as well as extra rocks and shields are now more common bonus items. Fixed: Fortune fields will no longer appear in the middle of pits. Fixed: The bonus level will no longer be triggered when starting a new game, if the previous game had been canceled during a bonus level. Fixed: Fortune fields can no longer make bats mysteriously vanish, they now fail to affect the bats at all as they can fly above them. Not very impressive as you can see, which is why I'm putting out the question. Thoughts, anyone? The most basic might be having some diamonds floating in the air to jump and grab for extra points. That might also work for things like food which could be eaten for strength. Perhaps monsters could destroy the food if they walk over it before the player grabs it. Also, there should be a way of getting a monster to fall into pits. For example, if you could hit a monster while standing on the second muddy step or right at the very edge of the pit before leaping across to safety. The monster, being enraged by the hit, would misjudge his leap over the pit and fall in. It should be a risky thing to try and do. well, on my 10mb no cap connection large files aren't much of a problem, I so vote for quality. I remember back when the old mota (as in mysteries of the aztechs) had cd quality sounds, then for no reason thomas compressed the sounds to 22khz, which sounds, well, not as good as it used to. at the moment mota (the new one) SOUNDS excellent and it should stay that way imo. - Original Message - From: Zachary Kline zkl...@speedpost.net To: Gamers Discussion list gamers@audyssey.org Sent: Monday, October 04, 2010 5:22 AM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] (no subject) Hi, I'm in favor of quality myself. I am going to do it anyways. smile. tc - Peter Mahach |piterm...@gmail.com msn: pitermac...@hotmail.com skype (not very often): pitermach twitter: http://www.twitter.com/pitermach webpage: http://pmsworld.weisi4u.de/ __ Information from ESET Smart Security, version of virus signature database 5266 (20100709) __ The message was checked by ESET Smart Security. http://www.eset.com --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org. Re: [Audyssey] MOTA Linux Installation Methods
I do have to agree about the gui simularities. after you figure out alt f1 opens that, ur, you know, the equivllent of the start menu that has your apps and stuff, you're pretty much set. You also have a lot of decent synths to pick if you don't like espeak, like eloq or dectalk, so that's nice, too. - Original Message - From: Thomas Ward thomasward1...@gmail.com To: Gamers Discussion list gamers@audyssey.org Sent: Monday, September 27, 2010 11:49 PM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] MOTA Linux Installation Methods Hi Peter, Well, if you havent' had much experience with Unix based operating systems in general I can certainly see how you might be confused. The most commonly used shell, Bash, is quite a lot different from Dos as there is a completely different set of shell commands. For example, in Dos dir gives you a list of files in a directory, but in a Linux shell environment you use the list source command ls to do the same thing. If you want to delete a file in Dos you type del filename, but in Linux it is rm filename. So unless you have actually read a book on Bash shell commands which are used by Linux, Mac OS, FreeBSD, etc there is lots of room for confusion in terms of the shell environment. However, the graphical user interface, Gnome, is quite a lot like Windows complete with buttons, listviews, checkboxes, and all the rest of it. In fact, it is close enough to Windows I recently installed Ubuntu 10 on my wife's computer and she has been using Linux for a month without any prier experience with Linux before without any problems. So the graphical environment is fairly intuitive for Windows users I'd say. My wife hasn't had any serious complaints with Linux in terms of the Gnome applications. It is just the commandline stuff she has any real trouble with. Fortunately, though, these days there isn't a lot of need to use the shell directly. Smile. On 9/27/10, peter Mahach piterm...@gmail.com wrote: yeah, most linux users I know use that. ok, every linux user I know uses that, actually. I don't use linux my self, just tried it in a vm once or twice, but found my self thinking it was confusing. What's weird is that I could wrap my head around dos. I use them command prompt a lot, I even wrote a batch script to use the command line version of 7zip to extract all sounds at once from my i Tunes app library. --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org. [Audyssey] Troopanum 2 playthrough
This is something I did today as i was bored. Lately I've been replaying audio games. this is my rather sucky game of troop2, which i've somehow managed to cmplete. I have recorded this on a win xp machine with 2gb of ram and we 7.2 in the background and studio recorder 3.7, with a ds50 hooked up for voice and an audio repeater to pipe that into stereo mix for both game audio and my voice, so, to get less geeky, it's a simple setup and it works. smile. After I play the game, I also do a speed round, which kind of fails. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1584584/troop2playthrough.mp3 --- __ Information from ESET Smart Security, version of virus signature database 5266 (20100709) __ The message was checked by ESET Smart Security. http://www.eset.com --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org. Re: [Audyssey] Troopanum 2 playthrough
HI ON YOUR DS, GO TO SETTINGS, THEN FIND THE USB SETTING, AND CHANGE IT TO AUDIO CLASS. WHEN YOU HOOK IT UP IT WILL SHOW UP AS BOTH A RECORDING DEVICE microphone control and as a speaker. like a USB mic. there is an app called virtual audio cable that comes with an audio repeater. when you start that, chose the ds50 mic as the input and your main card as output, press space on start. you will hear your self through your headphones, now just record through your stereo mix and it should work. - Original Message - From: Lori Duncan lori_dunca...@hotmail.com To: Gamers Discussion list gamers@audyssey.org Sent: Friday, September 24, 2010 4:06 PM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] Troopanum 2 playthrough Nice recording! Hi raul, how do you actually play this. at the top of the screen, I have my stats, and a letter. below that I have a bunch of buttons with numbers and a pass button. if I tap one of the numbers, the letter at the top changes, but I don't still understand how this works. - Original Message - From: Raul A. Gallegos r...@asmodean.net To: Gamers Discussion list gamers@audyssey.org Sent: Friday, August 20, 2010 6:48 PM Subject: [Audyssey] Moxie hello all. I would like to share a game which I purchased for the iPhone. It's called Moxie and is very fun. Basically it's a word building game, similar to scrabble, but you play it by yourself. There are 3 rows of squares going from left to right. Each row has 5 squares. 1 letter shows up and you have to decide on which square to place that letter. So for example, if the letter E shows up, I might place it in row 1, square 4 in case I can come up with a four-letter word ending with E. Then the letter B comes up, now I place it on row 1, square 1, Now I have B, blank, blank, E. So if I later get an I and a K, I can make the word BIKE. You do the same for the other rows. Once you have made a word, you get points. As you get additional letters, you can replace them over words you've done as long as you don't break the chain. So in the case of BIKE, I might have a letter of H which i place over the B making the word HIKE. And that would also give me additional points. If you do a search for the keywords iPhone and Moxie on Google, you can get to their site and read up more on it. As of yesterday and today, the game is free. I also went ahead and purchased Moxie 2 and it's just as fun. The game author is great about responding to emails and the game is fully accessible using Voice Over. Many thanks. -- Raul A. Re: [Audyssey] BrailleSoft No Longer Supports Freedom Scientific
First, I so agree. I converted to window-eyes my self. I actually been a we user since 4.5 in 2004 to about 7, but then I got a vista pc and, I sort of, ok, I'l say it outright, I was using a cracked version of jaws, as nvda wasn't as stable as it is now back then. Later I could finally afford to get a new version of window-eyes and drop the shark, which is what I did. Sadly I had some preasure on me and I was kind of forced to get a pm instead of a braille sense. in a way, I like it, because it's open, and I dislike it, because it has jaws and can be unstable, but what can you do. either that or back to braille writers. Re: [Audyssey] vipmud help
if you want to do it the easy way just turn on your numlock, but you'll have to hit enter each time you give it a direction. Alternatively you can change the behaviure of the keys by going to the edit menu, then keys. find all the keys you need (numpad1-9, plus and minus,) and hit control e on each one. tab to the commands field and delete what's already there and type the number. IE, if you're working with numpad8 type in 8 in the commands field. after you finish all of the stuff, exit the keys dialog, go to file, save, all scripts. - Original Message - From: Ryan r10mcman...@gmail.com To: gamers@audyssey.org Sent: Saturday, July 24, 2010 3:00 AM Subject: [Audyssey] vipmud help Hello I just got vipmud. [Audyssey] the blind pilots project?
I know there is at least 1 person on this list who used to publish podcasts and such on the tbp blog. I was just wondering are there going to be any updates? another question. a friend of mine asked me for help about fs and I directed him to the blog which is still up. only to have him write back saying the links are down. Talk about send space... I think the files would have to be reuploaded or better yet moved to dropbox or another more permanent host, however I lost the files my self so can't really reupload them. I hope to record some stuff my self, as I've been experementing with FSPassengers which is another accessible add-on which doesn't really add to the easyness of the sim but it does add a lot of realism and fun to the game. And here is another question, I am trying to get my way around the air traffic control menus, without much success. would anyone mind telling me what should I press in sequence to ask for clearence and such? BTW, I know it's your plane allows you to control atc now, but I can't get it to install so I had to fall back to using fsNavigator and so on. Hi Hayden, In STFC not all of the enemy ships will attack your ships and starbases out right. They remain in enemy space as boarder patrols and as a rear guard. So if you destroy the enemy fleet you must prepare a fleet of your own and enter enemy space and destroy any ships/stations you find there to win the game. You can not simply stay near a starbase and blow everything up as in Trek 2000. In fact, the new STFC, version 2.0, which still in development there are more important reasons to attack the enemy bases. in STFC both the Federation and the enemy races have shipyards you can use to rebuild destroyed ships. As a result instead of destroying the enemy fleet you need to take out the enemy shipyards to win the game else they will continue building and rebuilding ships until you are completely destroyed. Not only that , but I'm currently working on a feature so you can even specify the type of class to build such as Nebula, Galaxy, Sovereign, Defiant, etc. As a result with each succcessive wave of ships they will be updated and tougher to beat. On 6/7/10, Hayden Presley hdpres...@hotmail.com wrote: Hi, This is a two part message, so bare with me. Firstly, Thomas, this one'sfor you. [Audyssey] ot, maybe? sound card issue
why I am unsure if this is off-topic is because this is gaming related... more or less. after I tried the tdv version that would change your sound card settings to surround sound, I didn't notice it at first. actually, I did benefit from it in techno shock, but then I decided to try other tings, like top speed 2. I was making a new car and it immediately crashed when I tried turning. Seeing I haven't made a car for quite a while my initial thought was too high steering, but then I notice I had totaly 0 panning. teh darn thing was in mono. and sadly it doesn't end there, other games started to have this issue. Most notably jim's hommer on a harley and mach1tts, though other games weren't effected, like judgment day. My problem is I'm not sure how to change it back to stereo. I tried going to settings\contropl panel\soundsaudio\3rd tab\the advanced/properties button after the combo with all my soundcards, but the combo box there was set to desktop stereo speakers. I tried seeing if I'd find anything in DXDiag about it but no luck, and I can't restore my system because who ever was installing this omitted all accessibility options that are built-in, and system restore as well. Actually maybe someone should talk to the Klango dev team about this, not to mention about pirate memory, sinse their status is currently uncertain. Haunted factory was a sound based game similar to tetris involving sound matching. Some people I know weren't keen on it but I did think it was a potentially good idea for a game, though perhaps some more ways of reviewing the game board and knowing what blocks were there in order to setup combos and the like would've been nice. Re: [Audyssey] How did you start?
The first games I ever played (with sighted assistance) were on the playstation, which I in fact still have. I used to spend hours doing it. then, in 2004 I got my first computer, and the first pc games I played were on the old klango platform, which had links to non polish websites. I didn't care my english was bad, I decided to try anyway. There were a lot of broken links (IE adora became draconis but it wasn't tmensioned) and so on so I visited ag.net, which introduced me to the large database. and so it continued, I first signed up to the ag forum, watched for a while then started using my account for other purpuses than checking for new posts. then I also signed up for audyssey, and the rest is history. __ Information from ESET Smart Security, version of virus signature database 4974 (20100325) __ The message was checked by ESET Smart Security. http://www.eset.com --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org. [Audyssey] TOC's help system
hi david, me again. I decided to play a bit more with toc and I wanted to make a map. so all right, feeling creative I decided to read on how I'd go about making one, and accessed the online help. Instead of how vip's help system is based of the html help with the content tree and the reading area where the virtual cursor/browse modes are active there was this weird help window that talked about typing a keyword to find. I arrowed through and it displayed the topics, but pressing enter got me nowhere and I tried tabbing activating display but still no go. the text version is kind of tedius to work with and I don't think you built in the gma help system into the game. My guess is the windows help system is just great in vista (yeah I worked with it) and jaws does some reading with older versions but with we on xp and earlier all the help system versions are a nightmare to work with. - Peter Mahach |piterm...@gmail.com msn: pitermac...@hotmail.com skype (not very often): pitermach twitter: http://www.twitter.com/pitermach webpage: http://pmsworld.tmantv.net __ Information from ESET Smart Security, version of virus signature database 4965 (20100322) __ The message was checked by ESET Smart Security. http://www.eset.com --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org. Okay, I seen Ken on here a while ago posting about the new Quake game thing, but the address I have for his site isn't working, especially the one listed on the PCS games site. Does anyone know what the address is and if he still has those other games mentioned like Enemy Attack, Wreckingball, and the rest? [Audyssey] jd movies was: Re: Beep Trophy in Judgement Day
I wouldn't call them boring. Though I do like how liam makes humorous yet high quality games. When you're in the later jd levels with all these engines roaring and explosions, it really feels kind of epic, especialy with my speakers. it's so good to the point where the floor shakes when rockets are near. ANYWAY BACK TO MOVIES, MY FAV ONES ARE LIVING WITH LIAM AND 99 BOTTLES O0F BEER. and sorry for the caps. - Original Message - From: Hayden Presley hdpres...@hotmail.com To: 'Gamers Discussion list' gamers@audyssey.org Sent: Thursday, March 18, 2010 4:40 AM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] Beep Trophy in Judgement Day Hi Liam, Thanks, and that's so far my favorite movie. I have heard of a Beep trophy, does this have to do with the commercial, and if not, how do you get it? Re: [Audyssey] some autoit help
hi, I sent the info off list to not clutter things up as it's kind of long. - Original Message - From: Muhammed Deniz muhamme...@googlemail.com To: Gamers Discussion list gamers@audyssey.org Sent: Sunday, March 07, 2010 6:04 PM Subject: [Audyssey] some autoit help Hi guys, Could I please have some help with autoit?. I know the bit where you have to create the script, but I don't know what the code is. For an example, if I want to make the game give me 100 health by pressing the pagedown key, how do I do that?. Ok, if there isn't a function in the script for instants, how do I make it give me 20 points at the end of a level in autoit?. Regards, Muhammed.
