Hi, I also have been having many issues with the registration system. I payed my $30 or whatever it was at the time... Was in 2008 I believe. It was the first game I bought. Well, I first recieved a wrong registration number. Secondly the registration number I recieved worked for 10 days. The third one was working for a month, the fourth one didn't at all, and now I have to pay for another one. And if I may say so, I have seen better registration systems. Hi William, The issue is that Che has recently changed servers and has not yet got all of the Rail Racer stuff setup on the new servers. I don't know when he will get the Rail Racer stuff setup again, but I don't think it is a case of Rail Racer being abandonware or unsupported by the developer. If you want more information about this Che is probably the only person that can answer your questions fully. Hi Shaun, Yes, the server is offline at the moment. Che has moved servers, and the Rail Racer server isn't up and going yet. Don't give up all hope however, he is planning to resurrect it soon, he's just had too much to do with the card room, which for those of you who haven't tried it, you should definitely take a peek at it. Hi Mike, Windos 7 will allow you to install .NET 1.1. Those are legacy libraries, and yes they are needed for Rail Racer because it was designed for .NET 1.1. Hi Mike, It should work fine. I've tried it on Windows 7 32 byt and it runs fine. I believe Che fixed the problem with 64 byt platforms a while back so I don't see any issues with it on Win 7 64. Hi Pranav, Thankfully, it's the latter option, RailRacer has it's own virtual currency. You win money by winning races against the computer and optionally betting against other racers online. There is a class rating system for the tracks, the higher the class the trickier the track, and the more virtual money it's worth to win a race on it. There are also a few extras you only have access too once you've worked your way up to being a certain class of racer. In short, it's good stuff. I don't know if those other games use XNA. As far as I know, Entombed is the only game that currently uses it. Rail Racer might, I know Che developed that with .NET. If you're getting errors with Entombed, it's likely a prerequisite issue. It can take a long time to install if it has to download and install components. After installing it everything went ok until I ran railracer. directx seems to have mangled itself. This applies only to those of us that test entombed. To fix this, go to add remove programs and remove the xna 3.0 beta. then run the intombed setup again. then restart the system. this should unbreak everything. Check to be sure again. Is either your file and track name doesn't match or you put the usertrack into the official tracks folder. Hi Nicol, Well, Rail Racer is tricky to play, but not in the same way that Homer is tricky. What makes Rail Racer challenging is you increase lap speed by doing a perfect lean during the turns, you need to practice your timing when slowing down for a force field, find out how to not loose allot of speed during a loop, etc. There is allot of things that are challenging and you need to figure out through hours of trial and error what skills are required to win the race. Hi, Great job. Wait until you beat Art on the Rail Racer Pro level. He is darn tough to beat and even now i win perhaps 50 percent of the time on that level.
