I was wondering what the FBI involvement was in all of this...now it's becoming
more clearer by the minute!! Stephen, I truly believe you would not have
posted any of this if you didn't have good sources. You only come up for air
when the situation warrants... :-) Welcome back..albeit, how briefly it might

This stinks to high heaven, so far 11 Alabama legislators, 1 lobbyist, and 1

the last year was headed by a HUGE Auburn booster, the Board of Directors of
the Bank was manned by HUGE Auburn Boosters, the FBI is investigating all of
this, plus the Cam Newton Situation.

The Auburn Booster that has been indicted, was also the subject of a Murder

FBI Agent.

Here's my prediction for Cam Newton, he will not be suspended or declared

No.. its not looking good IF you go by all the reports. By the way.. some

Despite the ennui that pervades Gator Nation, it's time to play Pick 'Em.
You'll note the Gators aren't even in this week's games. Couldn't find a line
on it for some reason, but I didn't really look too hard. Maybe keeping our
own team out of Pick 'Em will be a good luck charm.

Depends on who you ask. Been listening to several "experts" on various radio
shows. Some say yes some say maybe not. Their argument was if anything did
happen and Cam had no knowledge then Cam may be fine. Of course, the counter
argument to that is how can Cam not know. Which goes back to my comment that we
just do not know enough to say one way or the other. If there are txt msgs that
happened.. Those can be recovered. If money was exchanged.. That can be
tracked. Fine.. Where is that proof? Thats all im tryin to say.

Bama was corrupt under Mike Dubose.

Auburn has been corrupt numerous times.

I'm just saying, this case has the potential to make the Alabama/Albert

You should put the game on anyway as a "pick em" or put Appy State as
a 3 point favorite. :-P

yes. The FBI is investigating.

Yes.. the NCAA is investigating.

But we dont know that they have found anything criminal or corrupt yet.
And youll excuse me for saying.. Fla was once also accused and charged
with just as scandalous of behavior... does that mean UF is corrupt?
Does that mean Bama is corrupt after their incident? The answer is no
obviously... but lets not jump to conclusions about Cam or Auburn till
we know for sure.

There are no facts (so far) that Cam has done anything wrong.

[gatortalk] AUBURN IS BURNING

2010-11-18 Thread Stephen Manuel
I don't post very often but when something comes up that is just to big and
too interesting I want to share it.

I'm sure most are following the Cam Newton Saga, I'll admit I was not that
interested in the story until recently, I have a Nephew that's an Auburn
Grad, I told him based on my experience, it's probably true that Auburn was
buying players. I went on to say, if you hear the FBI is involved, then you
will know for sure it's true and to expect major probation for Auburn.

Today when I heard that the FBI had interviewed several MSU people about the
play for pay scheme involving Cam Newton, my interest level went up
considerably.

I thought the reason the FBI might get involved is that price allegedly
involved was 100-180 K, that amount of money changing hands undocumented
will get the FBI's interest.

However, I am dumbfounded at that the amount of information/gossip/rumor out
there about this case. Not only is the FBI involved, but just about every
major booster at Auburn is involved, state politicians are involved, federal
indictments are involved, murder for hire has been mentioned, this case has
the potential to turn into the biggest scandal in College Football History..

I'll give you 4 links and let you judge for yourself, but I warn, make sure
you have a couple of hours to sit down and digest all that's out there.

I don't vouch for any of the information, just to say, when there is this
much smoke a HUGE MAJOR fire must be burning somewhere.

You should put the game on anyway as a "pick em" or put Appy State as a
3 point favorite. :-P

Maybe keeping our own team out of Pick 'Em will be a good luck charm.

Nice that you left the UF game out. I don't want any ugly reminders.
Seminole fans want to lay odds on UF losing the last 2 games. Ugh
