We have had comments in this forum from, among others, two Goan journalists. Good. I pointedly asked, several times, if either of them had listened to the 25 minutes programme. They have so far chosen not to answer so the invitation stands. What do I tell Allan Urry? I have also asked them to listen to the programme if they have not already done so. Was just not sure if having the poor beast squeezed in, had anything to do with the 'elephant and snake charmer' stereotype of India and Indians in India :) As for the issue of child prostitution and paedophiles, as Fred says, it has been done to death, at least in the local and national media--not to say that it becomes any less important because of that. While I'm glad to see the kind of debate the BBC report has thrown up, am just wondering if a similar report in the local media would have brought out anything vaguely similar.
