RE: [hlds] players
Well, I know that I can vouch for one of my pubs that is x.x.x.9 that it is full except for 3-4 hours around 5am-9am. It filled to constant usage about 3 days after I put it live a few months back and has been full since. I have 2 other pubs that are x.x.x.169 and x.x.x.170 and I have had to actually go out and get people to play on those. Finally got pub-3 up to 14-16 players semi-consistant with about a 6-9 hour gap in play. I just started another pub in central which is x.x.x.42 and it is starting to get better. First day for that one was about 10-12 people on a 20 slot and it seems to be slowly growing as I see regulars and some new people connecting. So I would have to say, from my experience, that the lower Ips are what make the traffic flow easier to your server. Then it is a matter of how you run your server, which is how I am trying to populate my other pubs. RE: [hlds] players
I have been trying to get the one that Statsme has in their scriptpacks to work but it doesn't work all the time. I would say that it works about 20% of the time. I had that idea and was going to have it redirect from pub to pub and back again. Like a loop. This would make it easier for the servers to become full without people having to make the effort to go to the other servers. But according to the forums at United Admins, it states that this plugin stopped working when Steam came into the picture. Which I have shown true or at least partially true. Maybe someone could look into it a little more and see if they can fix it. RE: [hlds] Rollback dlls wanted
It is universally sad that we need to go to these measures to fix our problems. VALVe should have taken action right after the release and the first 100 complaints. Yet, no response, no sorry for the jacked up update or anything from them. Universally disappointing...but of course, like every other update...We will continue to run it regardless...Cheers! -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Williams, Paul Sent: Thursday, June 17, 2004 2:27 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [hlds] Rollback dlls wanted There is a download link to the CS dlls posted on the steampowered forums here. http://www.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?s=threadid=95189 Although these dlls have worked for my servers as a temporary fix, I'll be exploring the AMX angle as well. I simply haven't had time to explore this problem in the last 24hrs, but it does seem that equally a lot of people are not having this issue, so it's certainly worth investigating/testing the AMX angle. Its just a pain to have to jump through these hoops on occasions, especially when you have players screaming at you to fix problems. The Linux folks I'm sure wouldn't mind theirs as well ;) I'm sure it would help a great bunch of us out! RE: [hlds] [OT] GISP's: Rental rates for HL2
I was meaning that as a way for someone to understand it. But, yes, you are correct about it being the actual Halflife multiplayer. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of spartibus Sent: Wednesday, June 16, 2004 6:39 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [hlds] [OT] GISP's: Rental rates for HL2 It's not really a mod, it is HL2's multiplayer.
