-- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] SRCDS is bad, I wont use it until they fix all of the bugs. and knowing valve and steam that wont be for another year or so. No offense, but it just takes time to work out all of the bugs. VAC doesn't even detect the cheats for HL2 mods. you didn't know that. I have personal knowlege of people still hacking in CSS for almost 6 months now that have not been detected by VAC2. but hacking in HL1 mods gets you banned in a month. i have personaly tested this. im not saying i hack to brag or hack to gain An advantage. i just really needed to know if it worked or not, and also wanted to better be able to detect hackers when specing and reviewing the demos. ill put it his way, if you hack for an hour or so and make a demo of yourself hacking, then play the demo without the hack running. it makes it easier to detect others that hack. because you know you were using a hack when the demo was made. I have made many hack demos in order to better my knowlege of detecting hackers. i then wrote tutorials on my web site for all of my admins to read on how to detect a hacker. and let them watch the demos for themselves. i also run HLguard to bolck all wall hackers.i have tested Hlguard with every type of wall hack and it blocks them all. anyway i digress. Re: [hlds] Server logs
Probably you should hold off on updating then, at least until this is worked out (unless you don't use HLSW). It had been some time before my last update as well... I havent updated since the last required update and everything works fine still. Re: [hlds] Server logs
I'm using 1.2 Beta l, but I did try disabling the mod and still could not pull the log (though at least my mani is still working correctly). This was like a light switch, before I updated the server (that day actually) I could pull logs fine, after the update, no joy. I've posted on the HLSW forums and they're working on it. I've heard there is a rollback available for Linux servers, is there one for Windows as well? Thanks what version of amni you using if at all. Becasue i just opened hlsw after installing mani 1.2 beta m rc 5. And they didn't work but yesterday they did when i had mani beta m rc3. You'll prolly find it's a bug in hlsw. ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds

Monday's (near as I can tell) server update killed the ability to "pull server logs" with HLSW on HL2DM. (www.hlsw.org) This is the ONLY program I've found that I can remotely admin my HL2DM server with. Every other function works, but since I can't pull the logs I can't see what the players are typing in real time, this basically hamstrings my admin abilities.
