Try exec'ing your banlist from your server.cfg that worked for me when I had
this problem.

exec banlist.cfg

Don't forget to writeid and writeip when you do ban someone.

Execute the banned_user.cfg first so all bans are in memory. If you

I did nearly the same project, but I used perl instead.
I ended up getting tips from 'qstat' program. I got the query strings from
qstat, and used them as a guide when designing my own script using
io::socket. I'm sure you could do the same to form the query with your php
script.

if you want to restart your server, you have to make a config with this:

exec banned_ip.cfg
writeip
exec banned_user.cfg
writeid
quit

so that the bans get saved before you shutdown the server

Hello dear readers of the hlds_linux mailing list, dear VALVe Employees,
I just wanted to ask if anybody out there knows any anti-cheat tool

As we all know, VAC is outdated since several months and CD has been
hacked lately. At the moment, there is no way of realizing a fair
competition regarding CS games. Both mainstream anti-cheat tools, VAC and
CD are not worth a penny right now.
Some days ago, when things regarding this CD - Crack went public we
(the ESL, the biggest european online gaming league) decided to stop
all our Counter-Strike Ladders. And this is not something we like to
do very often. Read more here if interested:

Please dont get me wrong, i am not trying to sound important here. But
i have to reach as many people as i can to try to find some
information about other possible, not much-known alternatives to
prevent cheating. The situation regarding cheats today is even worse
than it was some months ago. And it wont get any better. If you know
any tool which might be useful at the moment, please report it to me.

[hlds_linux] Half Life messaging system

2005-01-02 Thread Richard Fennell
Can someone point me in the right direction to find out more about the
half life messaging system. I would like to know what the server sends
the client to put the coloured messages on the screen etc. Also how it
sends messages to just one person instead of the whole server.
Thanks

4 gig drive will be slow due to age, also memory speed is a concern.
Sounds like its a hardware problem that you wont get around. Might be
able to tune your hdd in linux to run faster or upgrade to a better spec PC.

to hit the hdd..once it starts accessing the hdd it changes

This thing is still under heavy construction but perhaps you get an

how to get the correct infos from your CS:S servers (works also for
 HL2DM).

Hi Pleite,

Sorry, was having mail trouble with the previous post.

About a month back Cheops posted links to a script he is working on to
do just this:

there is a HL2 query protocol documentation in the developer section
 of http://www.hlsw.de
I used this documentation for editing the CounterStrike class from
 Henrik Schack Jensen
 my modified source @ http://www.dusk-clan.de/csserver.phps
 Demo @ http://www.dusk-clan.de/csstatus.php

It's pretty easy to see how to use if for both CSS / HL2DM and CS 1.6 /
CZ / TFC / etc... The source of the demo is csstatus.phps (I assume
Cheops doesn't mind that being public knowledge too, otherwise he
wouldn't have opened it up for viewing).

Cheers
Andrew

[hlds_linux] Ping booster?

This is a multi-part message in MIME format.

Does anyone use the UDPsoft ping booster and see a difference? Any opinions on
using a pingbooster? I use one on a server, but really is it doing me any
good? Guidance here?

This has been coded as part of psychostats 2.2 You might be able to use
the code from it.

mp_chattime 5
whereas 5 is time in seconds. This is the delay between maps.
