Februar 2004 22:34 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [hlds_linux] Limiting server access by steamid? Hi guys, We have an automated ladder system that also manages the server bookings and run the games on our own servers, with this we also (now) record demos, and zip up the log of the game plus the hltv demos and make them available for download. We currently have around 4000 players on our CS ladder, and one of the biggest complaints we're getting is slutting, that is a team inviting a better player from another team to their key games in order to rise up the ladder. What we'd like to do in order to stop this is force players to input their steamid as part of their user account (they have to have a user account to log into our gameclient COGS to access the competition servers). Then, we can simply build a list of all steamid's for all users allowed to play for any specific game. What I'd like to know is (I havent done too much searching), is there a metamod plugin available to create an allowed list of users based on steamid, and deny all other steamids other that that list. One way we can do it is write a little app that connects to the server does a status, compares returned steamid's with a list and just kick them, but rather than do that I thought it may be easier if there was just a pre-existing metamod plugin that can manage this I'd prefer one that does just this specific task and doesnt have five million other useless functions that one never uses.
