you dont have mp_timelimit to 30 as you said.
look at the qstat output.
somewhere the mp_timelimit=0 gets set.

take a close look at your server.cfg, maybe u entered it twice!

So.. sv_voicequality doesn't appear to work with the CS:S server.. is
there an alternative? sv_voicecodec appears to work ok, at least..
although I can't say I notice a great deal of difference in the sound..
hence the need to experiment with the quality setting..

Cheers,

the speex and miles codecs are both dlls,
maybe it will work if we copy the cs16 speex dll to

i copied the cs16 voice_speex.dll to the folder where the

i renamed voice_speex.dll to vaudio_speex.dll.
then i went to my server and changed sv_voicecodec from vaudio_miles
to vaudio_speex.
i did that with and w/o rcon.
i restartet the map.
and this is what i got:

Unable to load voice codec 'vaudio_speex'. Voice disabled.
Unable to load voice codec 'vaudio_speex'. Voice disabled.
Unable to load voice codec 'vaudio_speex'. Voice disabled.
Unable to load voice codec 'vaudio_speex'. Voice disabled.

:(

come on valve... miles is soo lowest-low-low-low-quality..

When I try to run my CS: Source server with de_dust or any other default
map, it works great. But when I try to run a different map(phys_phun),
the server will crash on startup. Or, if I start it with a default map,
and try to change the level to it, it'll crash again.

Subject: [hlds_linux] CS:Source server ip change

no matter what i do i can't seem to change the server port.

it starts on port 27107 for some reason, yet i can't find why.

i ran a recursive grep for 27017 and found nothing. the ip that it is
binding to has another server on it bound to 27016. i checked to make
sure that nothing was bound to *:27015 as well.

any ideas?

Hey martin,

Go back to the steampowered forums from where you came. To date this
has been a relatively safe harbor from the mayhem and worthlessness of
the members there, and I would like to keep it that way as long as
possible.

this sucks dead donkey cock.

Good job martin.

steam:// is already registered by Steam itself, it would be a really,
really bad idea for another program to re-register it.

Like I said earlier:

steam: -applaunch 10 +connect 81.169.187.229:27015

It may not look like a valid URL, but it is. You can type that into IE,
or Firefox, or any browser on Windows and it'll start Steam, start the
game you specify with the applaunch number (in this case 10 for CS) and
then pass it the parameter +connect 81.169.187.229:27015 which causes it
to connect to the server. No third-party apps required. You can
obviously change the applaunch number for any of the Steam games.

Also if your server isn't running on the default port (27015) then you
need to specify rcon_port as well.

I.e. if your server is on port 27025 you do:

Rcon_password banana
Rcon_port 27025
Rcon bot_add_ct

then it should work fine.

In your server.cfg you set a rcon password with 'rcon_password
urpassword'

Then connect to your server, type in the console: rcon_password
urpassword

Then you can use with rcon every command which is directly avaible from
the server console.

What would happen if you put ztmp files in the map.res file? Would the
server download and uncompress it, or would it just transfer the ztmp
file and leave it sitting on the client? (I'm guessing it would just sit
there, compressed and unused).

sv_downloadurl is a fantastic feature, but the bandwidth that the files
consume is excessive. It would make a big (big, huge) difference if I
could compress the resources and store those on my web sites instead of
the uncompressed resources. I second this feature request - I'm sure
that Valve has heard from a lot of us that would like to see this, and I
would not be surprised to see it suddenly appear in a future weekly
update.

 it is already clickable!!

i already put google.com into the small banner slot,
you could even enter things and search for stuff on google while

How did you manage to to do that since it just renders the image? Did
you put HTML content in banner.gif, or are you talking about the large

Can you provide numbers on the amount of CD players currently online?
Also, CD WILL give you a VAC ban joining the wrong server. Ask the C-D
people.

And no, WH-Block doesn't work, at all. I used to believe that until
one of
my friends showed me otherwise. We had one guy on our server that was
really good with cheating, I watched him forever and could never catch
him in the act. I put HLGuard on the server thinking it'd take care of
the wallhacks, and the dude continued to kick ass. This is when one of
my friends loaded up a wallhack to see just how well it was working.
Yeah, it wasn't, you could see clear through to the end of the map. So,
not ONLY does it use up a ton of CPU time, it doesn't actually work
either. HLGuard is 100% worthless.

i want to disable the html stuff because
the motd is not the only feature which is effected by html.

many plugins who display info-text in a message-box similar to the motd
are displayed as html as well :(

for example if a plugin prints out two or more lines which would display
as:
line1
line2
line3
withOUT html, are displayed WITH html like this:
line1 line2 line3
since there are no br tags in the regular text.

please help,
maybe a sv_html 0/1 would be fine too :D

thank you

But just type plain test into the motd file, take out all the html

It will look ugly but it works

Subject: [hlds_linux] Limiting server access by steamid?

Hi guys,

We have an automated ladder system that also manages the server bookings
and run the games on our own servers, with this we also (now) record
demos, and zip up the log of the game plus the hltv demos and make them
available for download.

We currently have around 4000 players on our CS ladder, and one of the
biggest complaints we're getting is slutting, that is a team inviting a
better player from another team to their key games in order to rise up
the ladder.

What we'd like to do in order to stop this is force players to input
their steamid as part of their user account (they have to have a user
account to log into our gameclient COGS to access the competition
servers). Then, we can simply build a list of all steamid's for all
users allowed to play for any specific game.

What I'd like to know is (I havent done too much searching), is there a
metamod plugin available to create an allowed list of users based on
steamid, and deny all other steamids other that that list.

One way we can do it is write a little app that connects to the server
does a status, compares returned steamid's with a list and just kick
them, but rather than do that I thought it may be easier if there was
just a pre-existing metamod plugin that can manage this

I'd prefer one that does just this specific task and doesnt have five
million other useless functions that one never uses.

Any pointers

you should download the metamod plugin fakefull.
you can specify the amount of some cpu players

they show up in the steam-server-list as regular players.
they get frags (but they dont move/kill) etc.

very good to fake some action and to attract real players

Hi everyone,

I have a quick question about the steam server browser. I run a
dedicated server and I have added it to my favorites. When I look at the
regular server list, however, I do not see my server listed. People rarely
seem to join the game, even when 5 of my clan mates are playing with me, so
I am wondering if the server was not added to steam's master list, or is it
just not visible because it is one of my favorites?
It shows up in gametiger, but not in the steam browser.Any ideas?

Just wondering,

Sorry, I meant a Halflife 2 Deathmatch Server. Will we be able to run the
maps we run on Halflife 1 Deathmatch Servers on Halflife 2 Deathmatch
Servers ? Also, will the per player bandwidth requirements be increaing
in
HL2 or staying about the same as they are for HL 1.

Nobody knows, yet :\ The best you can do is write to Valve directly and
hope they respond.
