[fsug-tvm] Ub=n able to connect to LAN using ubuntu 14.04 and 13.10
Hi all, I have come across a very wierd issue, till yesterday my LAN connection was working fine but suddenly it stopped working every time I have to disconnect and reconnect the cable to get it working. and although the network manager shows the LAN as connected I am not able to access internet for more than 5 minutes. thena gain I have to disconnect and reconnect I checked the drivers and they are installed AR8151. This problem happens only in ubuntu but in windows it works fine so I am assuming there is nothing wrong with the hardware. can someone help me out in this -- -- Freedom is the only law. Now there is a specific requirement where I have to create a simple login form in the public folder and then that form has to be used for devise authentication, can this be done, remember that the login form has to be in the /public folder and not in views. [fsug-tvm] Problem in Using Wired Connection in ubuntu 12.04
Dear friends, I have been facing an issue with the ethernet connection in ubuntu. In the network manager it shows connected but my internet stops working after 5-10 mins of use. There is no problem with the network because when I login from windows everything is fine. So I guess it is either a bug in ubuntu or some sort of settings with which I have made a mistake. In the IPv4 i have set it as Automatic DHCP and in IPv6 i have set it t link-local only. Hi Friends I recently updated to ubuntu 11.10 and i noticed that whenever I plug in my printer Hp Deskjet F4400 my BSNL evdo connection gets disrupted i think when a new USB device is plugged in the others get rejected ( But I have no problem using my pen drive). So what can be the possible reason and how to resolve it. Dear friends I recently customized ubuntu 11.04 and made a distro with some of the most commonly used engg tools latex emacs calibre qtoctave qucs eagle librecad clisp arduino gnusim8085 emu8051 linsmith euler lybniz graph plotter it also has multimedia support and the chrome browser. and has the lxde environment. Basically i wanted to learn the customization process, but then i gave it a bit of touch myself and i named it vinux 1.0 code named magnum opus which means great piece of work ;-) ( well the naming part was just for fun) i don't think its a much serious work as far the guys in this group are concerned, they do even better things. But as they say in malayalam (കാക്കയ്കു തന് കുഞു പൊന് കുഞ് ) So i just wanted to share the news. still i have problem in configuring a new bootsplash and usplash screen i'll be gratefull for any suggestion -- Freedom is the only law. Hi friends, I have an old system that stopped working a few days back it has not been in use for about one year, i would like to know if there is anyway i can identify the problem without any cost, If i call a serviceman home i'll have to pay atleast Rs.200.I want to identify he prob first and then decide whether to repair it or discard it. Vineeth Kartha The Meeting Agenda was The Freedom Software Day, and the following decisions were taken: Mahesh has already registered for the Software Freedom Day. To organize awareness classes and workshops in different CBSE schools in Thiruvananthapuram, We need volunteers so that we can form teams and send each team to different schools, and we expect to cover atleast 4 or 5 schools on 18th September. Sunil Chandran will soon put up a form for the volunteers list. Sasi Kumar sir suggested that we should contact other LUGs and conduct a planned and synchronised program throughtout the state on 18th September.He also suggested that banners should be put up in major towns over Kerala. So we kindly request LUG members of different regions to come together to make Software Freedom Day a grand success. Sooraj Kennoth of zyware technologies proposed that the FSUG TVM should do an activity for environment protection. Also we discussed about the program by College of Engineering Chenganoor called IGNITE about spreading an awareness about FOSS among school children. They had requested support from FSUG members. One of my friend faced a problem with mint 9. He wanted to auto mount some FAT32 and NTFS partitions. I told him to modify the /etc/stab. we did it but when rebooting there was error in mounting the NTFS and he cannot boot into mint also how can we correct it.recovery mode also not working how can i go to CLI from grub. without mounting those drives and all. I also face the same prob.--- but i have a partial soln. i made my partition mount on a folder that has the name that i want and i added the entry in the /etc/fstab so that my partition will mount automatically. first create a directory in /media and give it the name u want. [fsug-tvm] Trouble with Gimp 2.6.8 in Lucid
Hi guys I'm having a little trouble with gimp 2.6.8 on Lucid. The problem is that sometimes(not always) gimp crashes when i open it) I'm using Dell inspiron 1525 and i have 2GB RAM so i don't think i'm out of resources. Then what can be another reason. Is this a bug in gimp 2.6.8.
