Re: .....Upgrading G3 memory
Some G3s, like the b/w tower, shipped with OS 8.6 Yeah, I'd like to get 8.6 on my old G3s but can't even with PostFacto4. Re: .....Upgrading G3 memory
Greetings ( + )!( + ) You should obtain the Free application mactracker which will show how much memory your iMac can handle. When I checked on a couple of the early iMacs' it showed that you can put in a 1Gb memory sim but the system will only recognize 512Mb Cheers Harry San Jose, Ca On Nov 8, 8:00 am, thomas head headbon...@gmail.com wrote: I am trying to get my G3 to recognize two new sticks of 512. Re: .....Upgrading G3 memory
Thomas, Leave your hair alone, although enjoy your drink by all means...:-) Apparently these behemoths are not always capable of recognizing memory modules of 256Mhz and up, even if they are the right ones. Check their profile in LEM and related articles. Although, IIRC, the very first slot-load model could only be upgraded to 512Mhz, and the following models could be taken to a full gig. I might be wrong, though. Time to hit everymac.com!
