Mike, Not sure if it will help or not, but you could try turning off the personalized menus if you haven't already. To do this, Go to your control panel. Go to the task bar and start menu icon and press enter. Control tab one time to the, start menu page Tab to customize and press enter. Here you will have several buttons as you press your tab key. They include, add, remove, advanced, sort and clear. Right after the clear button will be a list. Arrow down this list to, personalized menus. If it says, on, then press your space bar to turn it off. Tab to OK and press enter. Tab again to OK and press enter. Close out of the control panel. Hello Denny, I tried all that without any luck. But I wouldn't give in so I went to the program files and pressed enter to open with the same result. Then I tried alt left arrow and it came out of the program files, so I pressed alt right arrow and it went back into them, and would you believe it it read everything. [JAWS-Users] Jaws 7.0 question
hi all. I have a question about jaws 7.0. My question is how do you get jaws to speak faster? what is happening is when I am reading messages it is speaking quite fast but when ever I press any other key like message deleted it speaks that quite slow and it also is slow when I am typing this as well. What I want to do is have the same rate of speech all across the board. I am just wondering what I can do to fix this? Also I would like to know Right now I have my OE Set to do the spell check when I press send. I would rather have it do the spell check when I hit the f 7 key. How do I do this? Mitch, ok to have you set your speed for jaws go into the jaws 7 to global for the voices, then tab around to the I think it's one or two tabs then adjust with the speed with your arrow keys. Now to adjust the speed of your typing you might want to adjust your verbosity to just say the words. I have mine set on characters words. Let me know if you'll need any help on either of those. If you rather have the spell check not check the spelling before your messages go out. Go into the spell check in OE,with alt t,then tab until you get to the spell section then uncheck the checkbox. Hi Stewart, While in internet Explorer, open the Jaws configuration manager, and select html from the set options menu. When the dialogue opens, go to the misc tab, and tab until you come to page refresh filter. You can use your up and down arrow keys to change this setting, then tab to the active x refresh filter, and do the same. Make sure to okay the dialogue, and save your changes when you close the manager. An easy way is.. arrow to the email do not open it, press Alt M, S you will be asked if you want to do this action press enter and then asked if you want all the emails removed of this sender if so, press enter again.. Note..this blocks them from going to your inbox. They will however, still go directly into your deleted folder. Hello Mitch: If you have incoming and out going mail settings too read your mail in plain text, then the only way that you can click on links that people send you too click on, is by doing the following. When you see a link that someone has sent you, just use the alt shift h, and then arrow down too where it says link www and then enter on it using the enter key. However, if your incoming and out going mail is set too read your mail in h t m l, then I don't think that you have too use this procedure. - Original Message - From: Mich To: jaws-for-windows @googlegroups.com Cc: jaws-users-list @googlegroups.com ; blind-computing @googlegroups.com Sent: Monday, May 14, 2007 3:56 PM Subject: [JAWS-Users] Problum clicking on links in e males Hi all. [JAWS-Users] Re: Windows Calculator
Hi Larry, If you press the start menu, and arrow to the accessories folder, then to calculator, then press the applications key, and arrow down to send to, there should be an option to create a shortcut on the desktop. Once it's done, I can't readily remember if it will display on the desktop as Shortcut to Calculator or just Calculator. Either one, all you have to do is enter on your my documents folder, then press the backspace two or three times, and the window will display all your desktop items. Once it does, look for the shortcut that was created, and re-name it what ever you want to name it. At that point, you can close the window, and confirm that the shortcut re-name was changed, and even enter on the shortcut to confirm that the shortcut activates the program. [JAWS-Users] Re: ftp servers
i forgot to mention the network-activ web server that is an http server, but has uploading features. you can see it working at http://okie.sytes.net:87 the apache2 triad package is there under the download folder. the incoming folder is for uploads only and isn't available to view without a password. very easy to set up though. Legend has it that on Monday 5/14/2007 09:39 PM, Ricque said: Hi Stewart, Well, it looks like Leonard has the answer for you right there! There are also web-hosting services that will work too.
