Hi,
Also Alt+right or left arrows will move the file forward and backward by
little jumps. Control+Right or left will move it by larger jumps. Up and
down arrows will increase or decrease the volume.

Hi, Kerry,
I have not used it much, but it is loaded with hotkeys, although they
aren't generally visible. I think there is a list in the help files. If
you can't find them there, I have a list around here somewhere; it
contains many many hotkeys. I'm not sure where it is, however. If I find
it, I will send it along. If, in the meantime, you want to use it to
simply play a file, the space bar works well to play/pause.

[JAWS-Users] jaws script;

2009-05-02 Thread David Whitehead

Good morning;

I have a jaws script question for a friend.

he asked me;
if the Help Balloon Script, will work in jaws10?
on the script page,
http://www.jaws-users.com/scripts/JAWS/HelpBalloonScript.html

it says;
instructions for installing and getting the help balloon script to work.
this script will make it possible to click help balloons wit one keystroke
in versions of jaws prior to jaws nine. would I be correct in assuming that,
jaws9/jaws10 has the script already built in to the program?

if so, does one need to assign a keystroke to the script?

in advance thanks for the help.

2009-05-02 Thread Jon C. Pierson
Hi Gary,
Actually, the settings are for Notepad, not for mail.
I say this because and I quote you message below:

You suggested that I should make sure Word Wrap is checked while in an open
message

Also, I know it's probably the first suggestion you got but have you made
sure the Notepad application is running maximized with alt plus space
followed by X?
If all of these things don't work then I lean toward something
display-related such as background and the like.

Jon

You also said that I should go to the configuration manager under the Text

I went to the JAWS Configuration Manager and found Enhanced Edit Support

the setting you mentioned?

I'm new to JAWS and I could have easily misunderstood you. I get stuttering

Maybe I should keep playing with other settings along with the ones you

Enhanced edit support unchecked is the default value. Sometimes, one might
wish to have it checked to see what the results are like. If results are
not bettter for that, then re-uncheck enhanced edit support.

Yes, the script's built into JAWS 9 and above, and you just simulate a left
mouse click when the balloon appears. This will work regardless of where the

go into the control panel, sound, and see if any sounds are set for

[JAWS-Users] problems since phone instalation

2009-05-02 Thread Yvonne Oliver

hello i have a problem with the computer since purchasing a new phone.
it may not be fully related with the jaws users group but it does involve
jaws a little
i have a v o i p internet telephone account and bought a new dual band
cordless phone.

it is for u k fixed line and internet calls
but since installing it i have run into this little problem
when it is plugged into the fixed line socket we have here in the u k i can
make calls but don't get a dialling tone unless i go up one level with the
navigation button.
but the worst is when i plug in the u s b lead the speakers cut out and i
hear no sound from the computer speakers and of course this means i cant
hear jaws
and of course even though the phone is plugged in to the u k line socket all
calls made and received are for the internet number

anyone able to assist?
if it helps i am with Vonage as my internet calls provider
thanks

Re: [JAWS-Users] problems since phone instalation

2009-05-02 Thread tim

like with victor. your jaws sees the phone as another sound card.

At 12:17 PM 5/2/2009, you wrote:

hello i have a problem with the computer since purchasing a new phone.
it may not be fully related with the jaws users group but it does
involve jaws a little
i have a v o i p internet telephone account and bought a new dual
band cordless phone.

it is for u k fixed line and internet calls
but since installing it i have run into this little problem
when it is plugged into the fixed line socket we have here in the u
k i can make calls but don't get a dialling tone unless i go up one
level with the navigation button.
but the worst is when i plug in the u s b lead the speakers cut out
and i hear no sound from the computer speakers and of course this
means i cant hear jaws
and of course even though the phone is plugged in to the u k line
socket all calls made and received are for the internet number

anyone able to assist?
if it helps i am with Vonage as my internet calls provider
thanks
Yvonne

If AWS starts talking funny, or saying weird things, I have also found that
unloading and reloading it back usually solves the problem.

That happens to me jaws saying ctrl alt f4 instead of just alt f4
occasionally. But if I unload jaws inser f4 and bring it back with my hotkey
the problem goes away. .

it says a control alt f 4, and nothing happens.
so where can i find the repair option in jaws 10.
  cheers Marvin.
ps: now using windows mail and i have to press the alt key, then arrow
down to send message, and the menus and keyboard keys do not work.

Jaws keeps saying, end link when there is some type of link in the message.
In another e-mail it keeps going into tables and columns.
