Re: [JAWS-Users] Silencing announcements of Bullits.
Darran, There are several different types of bullets, which is one reason you haven't managed to silence the speaking of them. Also, how are you going about the dictionary entry? Do you get the ANSI value and then add it? - Original Message - From: "Darran Ross" To: Sent: Friday, September 25, 2009 12:21 AM Subject: [JAWS-Users] Silencing announcements of Bullits. Hi List. As soon as she arrows down one time, she is stuck on the button and cannot read the page or access any links. She is using JAWS7.1. (Strangely, the JAWS cursor can read the screen but cannot see the "Open parent document button" dialog on the screen. Interesting. When did you sign up. Once I got past the initial sign-up, I found I was able to access online bill pay and manage my account settings with no problems whatsoever. The registration was also accessible with a few minor annoyances related to DHTML up until I reached the password confirmation screen. Other than that it's very accessible. In this list you are to post offer, wanted, taken or received plus the item and your town in the county. Jaws reads it with the pc cursor but if I try to read it with the jaws cursor it sometimes drops the last few words. An example of one of the subject lines is offer, gold drapes for cutting up the fabric, Shenandoah If I try to use the jaws cursor for next word it stops at the word for then reads the time as the next word. Well, the reason I upgraded WM to WLM version 8 was because I was told that Microsoft was requiring it. Re: [JAWS-Users] reading email subject lines
Hi Lenny, Have you tried widening your subject line? If you haven't use the steps below to do so. These are steps are for XP / Outlook Express users. I don't know if they will work with Vista / Windows Mail or XP / Outlook. While in Outlook Express press the alt + V keystroke for the view menu. 2. Arrow down to " Columns " and press enter or just press the letter " C ". 3. Arrow down to " Subject " and with " Subject " highlighted press the keystroke alt + W. You will get a message stating how many pixels wide your subject line is currently set for. Back space this number out and type 400 or 425. I currently have mine set at 430. This will widen your subject line so more print will fit. After you type in your desired number of pixels tab to okay and press enter. Hope this helps. Take care. Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS7.1 & IE8 problem
Thanks, Floor. I've seen that in Adobe sometimes too but have the latest JAWS, so am not sure why that comes up sometimes. It is not consistent. This student's IE8 dialog is consistent though, even if she goes to another web page. I told her I thought she'd have to uninstall IE8, but wanted to see if anyone else had experienced this same problem before going that route. It is an insufficient version of JAWS reading. you could close the window, and get rid of the dialogue; but you might also get rid of internet Explorer then too. A similar scenario sometimes may happen with pdf documents opened in Adobe Reader. however, that occurred in a separate window, and hasn't bothered me for some time. - Original Message - From: "Don and Cher Bosch" To: Sent: Thursday, September 24, 2009 1:01 AM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS7.1 & IE8 problem >I mentioned in my message that I am aware of that. Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws settings for Windows Vista
Not really, but if you want it to look look or react like xp. then you have to use classic in a few spots like display, start menu setting, and control panel. Other then the look, learn vista, because its not xp and don't act like it.
