Re: [JAWS-Users] jaws and windows 7
Hello The home premium or proffessional are different version of windows 7. Each version has different features however, the ultimate or enterprise version has all the features. If you want to know the features of each different version of win7, u can look it up on wikipedia or google it. As to which keys will work, what do you mean by that? If you mean the windows 7 product keys, u cannot use say, a home premium key to activate a windows ultimate install for example. Basically, the version of windows 7 that you can install is based on what key you are using. However, if you got say a home premium key, you can upgrade to ultimate for a smaller fee. This is called the windows anytime upgrade and has already been in place seen vista. Re: [JAWS-Users] a Problem with jaws mirror driver
Hello I suspect that the irritating intel display graphics driver is responsible. Jaws 11 is not the only version affected. Personally, my jaws 10 11 installations have been affected and the best thing to do so far is to avoid the intel display drivers so long as you can survive without it. [JAWS-Users] administrator privellages when installing jaws 11 beta 3
Hello I'm experiencing a rather peculiar problem when installing the jaws 11 beta 3. Some point during the installation process, an error about the sentinel system driver comes up when preinstalling the driver package. It say that it has insufficient privellages even though I'm running under an administrator account when I press the applications menu when the file is selected, I choose the run as administrator option. However, when enabling the hidden by default administrator account and when trying to install jaws from there, it worked beautifully. Why is my account lacking privellages even though it was supposed to be administrator? Cheers Dickson For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/

[JAWS-Users] Jaws 11 and Merge Utility
I downloaded the beta of Jaws 11 last night. It seems to be relatively stable but I have noticed some things. 1. The merge utility did not successfully import my Jaws 10 settings. I did not get an error message. It simply did not work. 2. The table reading commands in a Word 2003 document seem a little odd. I was copying information from a table into a distribution list dialogue box in Outlook 2003. That is name and email address. Every time I alt tabbed back from Outlook to Word Jaws no longer recognised it was in a table and if I used the control alt and cursor key commands Jaws announced not in a table , though I clearly was. However if I simply pressed a cursor key Jaws will suddenly recognise it is in a table again. In some of the cells in this table the tab key behaved differently and appeared to be actually inserting tables rather than jumping you to the next cell in the table. I have not gone back to testing this operation with Jaws 10 to see if has the same problem.. I am using XP Professional. Service Pack 3. [JAWS-Users] Windows Live Mail with Windows 7?
Hi everyone, I am currently running Vista with Windows mail. I am going to be buying a netbook with Windows 7 home premium. Since Windows 7 will no longer have Outlook Express/Windows mail, I have intended to buy the Office 2007 Professional and use Outlook. I am familiar with Outlook because I use it at work. I am wondering if anyone has any information on Windows live mail. And if this would be a good option for me? Re: [JAWS-Users] Windows Live Mail with Windows 7?
It depends on what you want to do. Windows live mail is fine if you don't like hitting alt h then x then v to open up HTML emails, but if you want a reliable place for contacts, calendar, and email all in the same place, then outlook is the way to go. I've tried using windows live mail a couple times, but it doesn't compare to what outlook can do and is capable of. Rules are much easier to create in outlook, and you even can change the sounds for these rules, this isn't possible with windows live mail. Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws 11 and Outlook Express
Rick, I sincerely wish I could offer you anything more than my own experience with OE. I recently grew tired of Microsoft Outlook, which I have used for years in lue of OE. So, I switched to OE, and had to play with some settings under view to get it to work correctly. However, it works fine on all three computers using JAWS 8, 10, and now 11. I do know, however, that even though I'm talking about three different computers, it doesn't mean that it will work on every one else's computer the same way. HELLO LIST, I JUST CAME ACROSS THIS PROBLEM WHEN TRYING TO CREATE AAC VERSIONS OF SOME MP3'S THAT I HAVE AND WAS CURIOUS TO KNOW IF ANYONE ELSE CAN DUPLICATE IT OR IF IT'S SOMETHING ON MY END. I PLAN ON WRITING A BUG REPORT TO FS IN ANY REGUARD. ANYWAY, AS I MENTIONED, I WAS GOING TO CREATE SOME AAC FILES FROM MP3'S AND I WANTED TO CHANGE THE PROPERTIES IN THE AUDIO SETTINGS. SO, I WENT INTO THE PREFERENCES MENUS, THAN TO IMPORT SETTINGS, THEN TO CUSTOM. ONCE THERE, I TABBED DOWN THE THE KBPS COMBO BOX AND ONCE THERE, I BEGAN TO ARROW TO THE RATE I WANTED. HOWEVER, EVERY TIME I ARROWED UP OR DOWN JAWS WOULD TAKE ME TO THE NEXT PROMPT AS IF I HAD TABBED TO IT. EACH TIME, I END UP HAVING TO TAB BACK TO THAT OR ANY COMBO BOX FOR THAT MATTER AND REPEAT THE PROCESS FOR EVERY SINGLE TIME I ARROW UP OR DOWN ONE TIME. USUALLY, ONCE HAVING TABBED TO THE VARIOUS COMBO BOXES, I CAN ARROW UP AND DOWN WITH NO PROBLEM UNTIL I GET WHICH EVER SELECTION I WANT, BUT NOW IT SEEMS AS THOUGH GOING UP OR DOWN IN THESE BOXES TAKES ME OUT OF THEM COMPLETELY. IS ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCING THIS ISSUE? JUST IN CASE ANYONE NOTICES, SORRY FOR THE ALL CAPS. MY CAPS KEY SEEMS TO HAVE LOCKED ON ME AND I'M STILL TRYING TO FIGURE OUT ON HOW TO GET IT UNLOCKED. Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws 11 and Outlook Express
I notice another problem with jaws 11. unread is not always announced and when I delete a message the next one is opened but not read. If I unload jaws and re-launch the next two or three messages are automatically read then it stops again. Likewise with unread notification. - Original Message - From: Mark Driesenga truthobject...@gmail.com To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Thursday, October 08, 2009 9:05 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws 11 and Outlook Express No problem. And that's certainly very strange. Hopefully you'll get it sorted very soon, as I'm sure it's very annoying. -- From: Rick Justice ricjust...@jaws-users.com Sent: Thursday, October 08, 2009 5:18 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws 11 and Outlook Express Hi Mark, That's not the problem, Outlook Express is set the same on every machine. As I stated in my first post, Jaws 6.2 does not exhibit this behavior. Thanks for the suggestion anyway. Also, take a look at the layout submenu in the view menu. There might be something there as well. If you have those set, I'm not sure what else you could try, but that seems to be the issue, unless I'm missing something. -- From: Rick Justice ricjust...@jaws-users.com Sent: Thursday, October 08, 2009 1:31 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] Jaws 11 and Outlook Express Has anyone encountered the following problem? When I open O E, Jaws does not place the focus on the message list, instead, I hear the following: page has no links, there is no message selected. At this point, I must tab twice to get to the message list view. This problem occurs with Jaws 9, 10, and 11, on all of my XP machines. Jaws 6.2 reads perfectly fine. I have already submitted a bug report for Jaws 11 beta. Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS 11 Question
Yes, it is still a beta. From what I've read on this list from a source at Freedom Scientific, October 21 is the big day. - Original Message - From: Donnie Parrett deparr...@prtcnet.org To: JAWS-Users jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Thursday, October 08, 2009 10:18 PM Subject: [JAWS-Users] JAWS 11 Question Is the current version of JAWS 11 still a beta version? Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws 11 and Outlook Express
Same here. I filled out a beta report. Actually, if I press escape and go back in to the message it reads the message. This only happens in version 11.
