Re: [JAWS-Users] multiple email questions
Hi, either create an new folder for the second account and then create a filter rule based on the recipient i.e the to: field and apply this rule to every incoming message - or create a new Identity. Then you would have the mails seperated but you would have to change identities to have both accounts polled. You create folders under file new. You create rules for filters using message filter rule. New Identities are created using file identities add new identity. This way you need to re-enter all info for the mail account or reimport the info about your existing mail account using extras accounts ex/import (two buttons used subsequently). [JAWS-Users] Second security update for Jaws 10

[JAWS-Users] Jaws and dragon Naturally speaking
Dear List I am about to do some extensive research . I had anticipated transcribing interviews into potentially large documents which can be 30-50 pages long. I use Jaws 11 and am a reasonably proficient touch typist but nevertheless this this is likely to be an onerous task. I had considered using Dragon Naturally Speaking as an alternative. Realistically I could not expect it to recognise the voices of my interviewees but have considered simply listening to the interviews via earphones and dictating the recording back into DNS myself. I am not sure how feasible it is to use dragon Naturally speaking with Jaws in this way. More particularly would there be a problem with the training of my voice recognition for the program? Presumably this is the only hurdle that really needs to be overcome? Dragon can be bought I see for quite reasonable cost. I have seen it advertised for about £40. I investigated the J-Say scripts to work with Jaws and there the combined dragon J-Say scripts package, in contrast, is horrifically expensive at over $800. My question is do I really need this expensive add on to work DNS with Jaws 11? I am a reasonably proficient Jaws user and would be happy to use things like the Jaws Cursor to read necessary parts of the program. Thanks for any assistance. Hi David, I have tried to use Dragon. However even after training you have got to use the dragon bar to correct things. There are situations where suggestions what a word you just spoke might mean and you are supposed to see these suggestions and more or less react in real time. I figure jsay is more about using jaws through dragon not using dragon with jaws. I ton't think you necessarily need jsay. But I would like to know how you get on with it. Hi, I don't speak for TT, the manufacturer/producer of J-Say, but I've just ordered J-Tools Dictate at £45 from them. As I understand it, J-Say is designed to work with Dragon Pro and to give virtually full voice control of the computer as well as use of Dragon Pro. J-Tools Dictate is buried in J-Tools and works with either Dragon Pro or preferred, the latter being the cheaper Dragon product. J-Tools currently comes in at £45 exc VAT (our equivalent of sales tax at 17.5%), and gives the ability to use either flavour of Dragon, including training the program and using the corrections feature. I would suggest you visit http://www.tandt-consultancy.com/pages/j-tools_information.php I'm sure TT will answer any questions that you may have as I found them extremely helpful. Please be aware, it looks like J-Tools is specific about which versions of JFW and Dragon it wants and there are also recommendations re sound card, although I understand they have a USB plug in box for £40 - £50ish that generally overcomes any probs. I haven't started using this software yet as I'm awaiting a new laptop but the feedback has been good on their users' list (you can sign up on the J-Say page of their site), and, as I said, I found the folks I talked to at TT very helpful. I have this command set on my quick access tool bar, but this 2007 set up is very slow compared to good old 2003. Either 2007 or JAWS 11 (or the combination) seems very slow and I have to wait for the message tab to come up after hitting alt, then when I hit the correct number for the open in browser item in my tool bar, I have to wait again. Has anyone figured how to speed this up at all? With the old 2002/2003 I got instant opening all the time. What I noticed is when I get an email to my blindgu...@gmail.com and to my other email account the messages go to my inbox. I know? That might be a stupid observation but how do I get my blindguy messages to go into my inbox and messages to the other email account go elsewhere? Pretty much right now, when I get messages going to both accounts my inbox is cluttered. I thought if you created another email account wouldn't you have two inboxes? Or will I need to create a rule to have messages go into another folder for my other email account. [JAWS-Users] stand by mode
Well, I finally found the pattern and fixed the problem where the stand-by button did not always work. At first I thought that the video driver update corrected the problem but two days later it came back again and then I noticed that the shut down would sometimes lock up. Just by dumb luck I discovered that if the printer is turned on both stand-by and shut down work. When the printer was turned off they would not work. I have only had the printer installed for a few weeks and it is usually turned on. I went and ran msconfig and unchecked hp monitor and now everything is back to normal. This is on a windows xp machine and using a c4180 all in one printer. Give me the old main frames I still think that pcs should be used as doorstops. --- Please visit my home page; it is motivational, inspirational and humorous with many resources for the blind. http://www.lennymchugh.com Lenny Please Copy and Paste into New Message to pass along. Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws and dragon Naturally speaking
Hi Allen - I have always been wary of Dragon but can say with absolute certainty that the jump in performance from v8 to v9 was massive and v10 is noticeably better than that. I would advise anyone who considered speech-recognition dictation as an option prior to v9 to give it another look and I promise you'll be pleasantly surprised. Hey Mike, Could this be my problem, why it takes about 3 to 4 minutes before the dialog box to reboot my computer comes up? Re: [JAWS-Users] multiple email questions
Hi, under extras (hope it is the same in English) it is the menu item between view and message there is send and receive. You have an option to poll mail for each individual account. By creating a filter rule and prior to that a new folder you could seperate the messages. If you have trouble with creating a filter rule come back. Am I of any help actually? So how would I poll that separately? -Original Message- From: jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Jeronimo Schöber Sent: Tuesday, March 02, 2010 10:33 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] multiple email questions Why not create a new account in outlook and poll that seperately? Creating a filter rule is done under messages message rules. Kimsan, try it and if you have specific questions ask those. Describing how to create a filter rule in general is not useful since you can not transfer your knowledge onto other cases. Go ahead! Good luck Jeronimo - Original Message - From: Richard B. I can be more specific if you wish. This is sort of a jerry-rig solution, but it may work for you.
