Re: [JAWS-Users] PowerPoint
Greetings: I took a computer basics course in the Fall of 2009 and it covered the MS Office Suite. For the most part you will be able to create Power Point presentations on your own. Re: [JAWS-Users] internet explorer showing blank pages when using jaws
JoAnne, I have had the same experience, intermittently and inconsistently using Jaws 10 and 11 with IE8. There are times it brings up a blank page, but if you turn off the virtual cursor it works. Other times, even on the same website, it will work fine. It really seems to be a problem in Aria compliant sites such as Yahoo. I have not noticed this using Win-Eyes 7.1 though. What I wish I could do is get rid of the stuff on the left side of the page--that Web address and home split button you see. Because that actually seems to be where the problem lies--plus it is annoying because you can't just go to links like you could in I.E. 6. What seems to happen is, it tells you you're on the right page, but going past that home split thing it shows nothing. I sometimes see links if I turn off and on the virtual cursor, or if I hit F5 to refresh. But often I can't get the links and text bodies of the pages to show up. I know it went to the right page but something is either blocking it or something is maybe set wrong in config. Now the odd thing is, usually when using my special version of Jaws 8 this doesn't happen; however I can't use Jaws 8 to find a favorite because hitting alt and the letter a it doesn't read the list of favorites. So if anyone can help resolve these issues would appreciate it. Also does F.S. recommend anything regarding tool bars? Should they be locked, and which ones would one use when browsing with Jaws? I just wondered if that had any difference in my not getting links to come up. Thanks. Re: [JAWS-Users] question about MS word 2003, and hanging indent?
Hanging indents are opposite of a standard indent. IN a hanging indent, the first line is written at the left margin, while subsequent lines are written at the first tabstop from the left margin. You'll see this often in a dialog, or possibly in a question-and-answer format so that each question and the first line of each answer are at the margin. Control-shift-t undoes a hanging indent. Control-T initiates one. - Original Message - From: susie Q susi...@cogeco.ca To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Monday, March 29, 2010 10:43 PM Subject: [JAWS-Users] question about MS word 2003, and hanging indent? [JAWS-Users] Sound forge 10 question
Hi all, Is anyone using sound forge 10 with Jaws? I'm using it with Jaws 11 and in previous versions of sound forge, I could pause my audio file, and use shift and right arrow to select forward. This keystroke no longer seems to work and I'm wondering does anyone have a solution? Many thanks, Stuart Lawler. Re: [JAWS-Users] Links with mouse over
The key combination, Insert + Control + NumPad Enter, should activate whatever JavaScript code is attached to that element. The biggest problem is figuring out what the code is supposed to do to the page. The code may add material to the page above or below the element, it could change the colors, or just about anything creative the designer can think of. I think JAWS can now announce some changes to the page, similar to frame updates. Re: [JAWS-Users] Links with mouse over
I do not think JAWS attempts to understand what the mouse over JavaScript will do, or analyze the new additions to the page to determine what has been added. As previously stated, JAWS reports the line where the new content has been placed. The new content could be anything, like explanatory text, similar to a ToolTip. It could be an entire new submenu or. However, I can not imagine a case where that would not be a bad design. Yeah, I just looked that up in the JAWS help, which stated, Jump to a specific line with J, And return to the starting point before the jump with Shift+J. At least this helps you move to the new content and easily get back, if needed.
