Both work well with JAWS 11 and Windows 7. JAWS seems to be slow
opening messages in Thunderbird though.

Jaws Users,
Is there a Jaws command for moving more than one message out of your outlook
express and onto your computer? Basically trying to clean up OE and having
to save the messages one at a time into a folder on the desktop. Very time
consuming doing it this way. Thanks for any responses on this matter.

2010-07-02 Thread Mike Barbara Brunner Arcadia
Good Morning Richard;

I am sorry about posting such a message but, I have run into situations with
our Internet Provider when I needed to know what lights, are or are not, lit
on the modem and not having someone sighted around to tell me so I could
tell the IP tech support person. Without my service working correctly it
renders Jaws useless with trying to use many programs and functions of the
computer. I thought that this little tip could help people keep Jaws
working more efficiently and have less frustrations in using Jaws in their
everyday lives. You see, if I lay on Doctor Phil's couch long enough I can
relate anything to using Jaws! LOL Hope this helps clear up my convoluted
ways of thinking! LOL Take care.

For Lisa and others who may be concerned with knowing the status of
indicator lights on a router or modem, I can determine which lights are
 on,
off, or blinking with a light probe. Independent Living aids has one for
twenty-three dollars and change. They work well for a number of things. I
use my probe to tell me about the lights on various cooking devices such
 as
a rice cooker, foreman grill, and many other things. It will find lights
 on
those little cube shaped power supplies that plug into the wall; the
 blinking light on the victor stream;  the light on the computer speakers;
and a host of other things I can't bring to mind just now. Just a
 thought.

 Hope this helps. Take care.

Hi Josh;

There is a program that will do what you are wanting to do, I think. It
is
called DBXtract. Below are links to the program and 3 tutorials done by
Richard Justice that will explain the way it works a whole lot better
than

I
ever could being that I have never used it. The first 3 links are for
the

different tutorials and the 4th link is for the program itself.

Jaws Users,
Is there a Jaws command for moving more than one message out of your
outlook
express and onto your computer? Basically trying to clean up OE and
having
to save the messages one at a time into a folder on the desktop. Very
time

consuming doing it this way. Thanks for any responses on this matter.

Good Morning Richard;

I am sorry about posting such a message but, I have run into situations
with
our Internet Provider when I needed to know what lights, are or are not,
lit

on the modem and not having someone sighted around to tell me so I could
tell the IP tech support person. Without my service working correctly it
renders Jaws useless with trying to use many programs and functions of the
computer. I thought that this little tip could help people keep Jaws
working more efficiently and have less frustrations in using Jaws in their

For Lisa and others who may be concerned with knowing the status of

I

use my probe to tell me about the lights on various cooking devices such

[JAWS-Users] New JAWS, Outlook 2007, and HTML Messages

2010-07-02 Thread Baracco, Andrew W
Yesterday I updated my JAWS to the current version. Now, whenever I
open an HTML message in Outlook 2007, JAWS simply says Document 2.
That's it. It will not read the message. The only fix seems to be to
ALT TAB away from the message window and back, or to keep closing and
opening the message, but this is unacceptable considering the amount of
Email I have to read on a daily basis. Any Suggestions? Because of
time constraints, I have had to resort to using Window Eyes with outlook
for the time being.

Hi Patricia;

If you can tell them what lights are on/off in an order, let's say from top
to bottom, and the IP tech person can't determine which of these lights is
supposed to be On/off and what their colors should be, it is probably a tech
support person that you don't want to talk to in the first place. I don't
think any of the lights on a modem are suppose to glow in more than 1 color.
Take care.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Puzzling anomaly in JAWS11 Windows XP SP3

2010-07-02 Thread Flor Lynch

I believe I've now solved the problem.
I had 'tethered' JAWS to PC with ctrl+insert+numpadminus and then saved
that value by pressing the keys twice quickly, SUCH THAT jaws CURSOR
'WILL FOLLOW' THE pc CURSOR, because I was having Save Target As
problems in Internet Explorer. Changing it to 'will not follow' the PC
cursor and saving that, by pressing the keys twice quickly, has
apparently fixed the issue.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Puzzling anomaly in JAWS11 Windows XP SP3

Hi,

I'm using XP Home, SP3, IE8, office XP, K1000 version 12, Adobe Reader
9

latest, JAWS11 (latest). Doesn't happen with
previous versions of JAWS. Whenever I hit a submenu by arrowing to
it,

I'm being put into the submenu whether I want to be there or not. An
example: In
Outlook Express 6, when I press alt-v I get to the Current Vews
submenu.

If I up or down-arrow I should be on either Refresh, F5 or the Sort-By
submenu respectively. With JAWS11 when I up- or down-arrow from here
I
remain in the Current Views submenu - View messages by Conversation,
etc.

This also happens with the JAWS context menus, and even the JAWS menus
when I put JAWS on the taskbar instead of the system Tray. I tried
changing Window parameters but that didn't change it.

The thing is that, if I completely uninstall JAWS11 and then reinstall
it, no merge with previous version, it's ok again - for a while.
(I've

done this two or three times already.) Even when I merge Duxbury
scripts, which I need to do, it's still ok. The latest incidence
happened for no good reason I can fathom, except perhaps when updating
the Adobe Reader and working with a pdf document.

To summarize: When I hit a submenu within a menu, I'm being put into
the submenu even when I up- or down-arrow. this should not be
happening, and happens only after using JAWS11; after a period of use
of

other applications with it.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws won't appear on system tray.

2010-07-02 Thread Dale Leavens
Did you uninstall version 10? If not there are probably two shortcuts on
your Desktop which you can get to with Windows+M and cycle through with
first key navigation (J).

The properties of each shortcut will show where they point. You can set up a
unique shortcut for each version, I have done this in the past when moving
up to newer versions of Jaws if for no other reason than to determine which
I prefer for which tasks. You may wish to uninstall 11 and then reinstall
it, perhaps something has gone wrong with that install.

running jfw 11.latest update, win xp sp3.
I have the run jaws from system tray checked under basic settings.
In the taskbar and start menu, I have jaws checked to always show.
Still no jaws on sys tray.
Is there a way to revert to jaws 10, if I can't get this resolved?

Thanks in advance.

[JAWS-Users] windows live email issues continued

2010-07-02 Thread Leonard Morris
I don't know when I will be able to actually view any replies to this message
(frown) because I can not get out of the group list view pane this time in
windows live email. When I was able to get out of it before it was merely by
accident and I can not seem to duplicate what I did. When and if I do get back
to the inbox where my messages are listed hopefully somebody can tell me what I
might try to stop the appearance of the group list pane from popping up
haphazardly. Thanks.

Both work well with JAWS 11 and Windows 7. JAWS seems to be slow
opening messages in Thunderbird though.
