Re: [JAWS-Users] using goldwave to edit files
hello, 1. navigate to the starting possition of the audio file that you want to edit. this can be done one of several ways. you can use F4 or space bar to play right from the beginning. but that would take much time. try left and right arrows. that should take you to the closest position of the file. you can use L to fast forward and J to revine. 2. when you get the exact starting position, hit F7 to pauce and press left bracket to insert the start marker. 3. press F7 again to resume playback and press F7 again to pauce when you reach the exact ending position and press right bracket to insert finish marker. this will enclose the audio that you want to edit. 4. now press delete key. this should delete you unwanted audio portion. hope this helps, ashoka weerawardhana. Use this same command to rename your current worksheet. Let me give you a heads up about a problem I've had with using the Insert+Shift+s command. Re: [JAWS-Users] Outlook 2003-not able to activate a link
Hello John, There are a couple things you might want to try to activate the link. If you are using Word as the editor in Outlook 2003 then you might try using F11 to move to the hyperlink field and press enter key. Focus should be right on the field if you move to it that way. You can also try listing fields using JAWS key with F5, moving down to the hyperlink field you want to use and pressing enter key. Focus should be placed directly on the field and you can try pressing enter key. Try moving the cursor a character to the left of the link and then use right arrow to move on to the link. If JAWS reads the entire link when you move back to the cursor then the field might actually be in focus and you can try pressing enter key. I just noticed in your message that you said that you are able to activate the links using the application key, so perhaps these possible workarounds are not what you are wanting. I am not sure why JAWS wouldn't be working like it should in a HTML message. You are obviously viewing the message in HTML format as the hyperlinks work using Windows keyboard and mouse functions. When in a spell checking dialog box, the JAWS key with f7 is used for having JAWS speak the misspelled word and suggestion. Take care. A dialog box will come up that we are all used to from Excel 2003. This dialog box will allow you to select where you want to copy or move the sheet to (i.e. same file, blank file, some other file, etc.). You can select where among all of the other sheets in the workbook you want the sheet to be placed, and then there is a check box that you check if you want to make a copy of the sheet, or leave it unchecked if you want to move the sheet. Use this same command to rename your current worksheet. Let me give you a heads up about a problem I've had with using the Insert+Shift+s command. It appears that when I have data in A1, this command does not work correctly. When this happens, you have to move your cursor down to beyond the last row of data and it will work again. As long as you do not go back to row 1 the command will continue working. I have talked to FS support about this issue, and I am working on sending them a sample file where this problem occurs. Because the file I am using at work has PIP data in it, I am having to create a new file to send to FS to work with. Re: [JAWS-Users] Copying Worksheets | Excel 2007
In Excel 2007, I believe that the command is Insert+Shift+S. Here at home I have 2003 running on a laptop, And at work I use the command all of the time on a full 101 keyboard, so I can't confirm it. If this is not the correct command, look in Insert+F1, Insert+H, or Insert+w. I know I found it in one of these informational screens. Here is how to use it. When you are in the worksheet you want to copy, use the Insert+Shift+s command to bring up a menu. Arrow down to Copy/Move sheet and press Enter. A dialog box will come up that we are all used to from Excel 2003. This dialog box will allow you to select where you want to copy or move the sheet to (i.e. same file, blank file, some other file, etc.). In the 2011 version, there's no equivalent of the go menu, and the associated shortcuts. However, in both versions, there's a group of buttons: mail, calender, contacts etc. To get to the contacts window: 1. press f6 till you get to mail (button), which is the first of the group of buttons. 2. Arrow down to contacts (button) and press it. Note that in 2011 version, this does not open a new window, rather the original mail window becomes a contacts window. So you have to follow a similar proceedure to get back to the mail window. I have also submitted beta feeback to fs about the 2011 version, but have heard nothing back. Also I get in a situation where deleting messages just does not delete them, far more things as well I wont carry on because this has obviously not been looked at by FS yet and this is only a beta.Would like to know if anyone is having more success than me with this latest version of windows live. Re: [JAWS-Users] Linksys Router
Under wireless. Depending on your router model and region in the world, you will have different choices. From my understanding some of the channels overlap, so moving to an adjacent channel may not help much. It might be more helpful to move from channel 6, which is usually the default to channel 1 or 2, or to 11, or if you are in a region that allows it, channel 13. If you have a N capable router, you can change the channel width from 40MHz wide to 20MHz wide. With a 2.4GHz router, any cordless phones operating in the 2.4GHz range as well as microwave ovens can impede wireless range as well. This issue has perplexed me as some other messages I receive, I can activate the link with the application cursor. On pages like the one below, if I try and bring up a list of links, Jaws says "not in spell checker". appreciate some help here. Re: [JAWS-Users] Linksys Router
You should find it under wireless. maker sure its the wired computer you make the change with or it will not save right. He has advised me to alter the channel setting on the router, I am able to get into the router and see all the settings but wondered if anyone could point me in the right direction to alter the channel, I have just taken a quick look and did not see where I could alter it. Is it under wireless, security or where? Appreciate any help. Re: [JAWS-Users] Linksys Router
I would leave the adaptor alone, because its set to default auto, and if changed then that is the only numbered channel it will connect to. Re: [JAWS-Users] Windows Live
Hi Graham, It's more awkward to get to the contacts window in windows live mail 2011 - this is microsoft's fault, and not freedom scientific's. David. original message: Hi the latest version of windows live mail and messinger are certainly not working well at all. Obviously nothing has been done with this latest version of 15.4, I did report this before this latest relaease of the beta but noghing has changed.Although I am having a little success with windows live, windows seven 64 bit it is still not good and i wish I had stayed with the old version but when you see messages from FS advising to upddate to this version to solve issues you tend to think this is the thing to do.I know thisw is hard to keep on top off and I wont use anything other than jaws, but heck this gets dam frustrating why can they not get this program to work even the old version of windows live is not correct. So like others I am having the same problems in Messinger and in Mail contacts are not viewable could not tell you if they are on the screen but my auto fill works when compiling a message. Also I get in a situation where deleting messages just does not delete them, far more things as well I wont carry on because this has obviously not been looked at by FS yet and this is only a beta.Would like to know if anyone is having more success than me with this latest version of windows live.
