[JAWS-Users] Jaws friendly fax applications?

2011-01-06 Thread Dale Leavens
Looking for a Jaws friendly fax application, something which will convert a
document into an image then send it off preferably with a cover page.

I don't prefer an on-line solution at this time, one that runs on my computer
and sends directly over the phone.

I was looking at the Windows fax programme but it seems to want a scanned image.

If I am mistaken and someone knows how to use the Windows programme I would be
delighted to hear from them.

I don't care about receiving faxes, just sending them. I do have K1000 version
11 but that fax application doesn't seem to want to work here.

Thanks.

Have you tried setting your JAWS numbers setting to something like
read single digits if number contains 8 or more digits? That's what I

[JAWS-Users] Outlook 2007 email

Has anyone else experienced problems with Jaws and reading messages in
Outlook 2007?

I start reading and keep hearing Jaws announce tables and the cell that I'm
in. It got really annoying so I went into the verbosity settings and turned
off detection of tables off. This solved the problem, but it seems a bit
hacky. Does anyone else have a better solution?

I notice that quite a few people write the list about Research It
not working from time to time.
The most likely cause for this, is that website information used in
Research It has changed.
Jaws relies on specific information from each site to be available,
and when the website in question changes that information,

the Research It utility fails to work correctly.
This is why FS will have to continually update Jaws in order for
Research It to work.
Whenever you have a problem retrieving information using this
utility, and you will , simply contact FS to make them aware of the problem.
I'm not bashing FS, I'm just pointing out why folks that use
Research It experience these problems.
Personally, I prefer using Internet Explorer since the same
information can be obtained from the individual sites that Research
It accesses.
So, if Research It fails to get the information you are looking
for, try going to the corresponding website and getting it.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Research It in Jaws

I notice that quite a few people write the list about Research It not
working from time to time.
The most likely cause for this, is that website information used in
Research It has changed.
Jaws relies on specific information from each site to be available, and
when the website in question changes that information,

the Research It utility fails to work correctly.
This is why FS will have to continually update Jaws in order for Research
It to work.
Whenever you have a problem retrieving information using this utility, and
you will , simply contact FS to make them aware of the problem.
I'm not bashing FS, I'm just pointing out why folks that use Research It
experience these problems.
Personally, I prefer using Internet Explorer since the same information
can be obtained from the individual sites that Research It accesses.
So, if Research It fails to get the information you are looking for, try
going to the corresponding website and getting it.

Rick Justice

The way I do it is find the link you want to delete in favorites. Hit your
applications key and down arrow to delete. Hit enter. Then you will get a
dialog box asking if you really want to delete that link.Wayne

Re: [JAWS-Users] How do i delete favorates?

2011-01-06 Thread Greg Epley
This method of simply hitting Delete, which I've seen posted twice now,
does put whatever you delete in the Recycle Bin. To bypass the Recycle
Bin one needs to hold down the Shift key, then press and release Delete,
release the shift, then press and release Y for yes to the delete dialog.

This isn't any more secure a delete than just hitting delete alone, but
the difference is that anything in the Recycle Bin's still eating up
disk space, whereas if it's not in the Recycle Bin it's not actually
still eating up disk space. The deleted item could still be recovered,
even when actually deleted, until it's actual space it occupied has been
sufficiently written over with other files.

2011-01-06 Thread Greg Epley
Another way to open up your own profile's Favorites is to press
WindowsKey+R to bring up the Run dialog, or under Vista or Windows 7, if
you have them configured with the Search edit box focused when you press
the WindowsKey, then simply type the word favorites and press Enter.

This works for a lot of other items under Windos 7, not sure about
Vista, or so I've read.
