Re: [JAWS-Users] Adobe flash player for 64 bit system with IE9
Hans Pauli, Thank you for your reply. I went to this site and found the newest version of Adobe Flash Player. I found a couple of things that were puzzling. First, there was a warning about the newest version being a beta version and caution was recommended for those who wanted to install it. There was also something about just installing the 32 bit, working just fine for 64 bit, IE9. Secondly, it said that if someone wanted to update, they had to remove their previous version, and would have to do this everytime a newer version came out. I wanted to write you again to get your opinions about this. Thanks much again, there is no real hurry with this for me. [JAWS-Users] Wich jaws version for Old laptop?
we have an old laptop here running win 95 A on a 100 mhz cpu wiht 40 megs of RAM. We bought that laptop before i lost my sight and I did use it with speech once upon a time. However, I do not remember what jaws version I used at the time. Does anyone know the system requirements of the jaws 3.x generation still? I have a hardware synthesizer I can use and the first version of jaws I used was 3.0. I found that jaws 3.7.x worked best with win 9x at the time but am wondering if the above laptop would be good enough to run jaws 3.7U or 3.7.1. Any recommendation is much appreciated. [JAWS-Users] annoying jaws issue in outlook 2007.
Hi all, I am running jaws 12, latest update, windows 7, home premium, outlook 2007 on a 64 bit machine. This morning, when I try to read a message in outlook, every message says not selected. I have to hit the space bar to select it to read it. I never had this happen before. How do I fix jaws so that, when I focus on a message, it starts to read it automatically? Automatic read is on by the way. Jim For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/

Re: [JAWS-Users] Wich jaws version for Old laptop?
Because the hardware is perfectly good still and this box may go to someone who just needs something for text processing and maybe a little reading of etexts. the latest and greatest is not always necessary nor affordable. jaws 3.0 is an option but I'd like to try if a version that already has a virtual cursor for html will work. Hi again. If all your needs on the internet can be resolved by using the 32 bit browser, than it is not necesary to install the 64 bit version. That is correct, that this pre release which is in beta at the moment, not will update automatically, and later updates reqquires, that the previous one first are beeing uninstalled manually, so it gives a bit more work to do. Hope you find out, what you're need's precisely are, so you can take the right decition. Hello David and Friends, I still have my Gateway Windows 98 First Edition set up and loaded with JAWS 5.0 I ran JAWS 3.3, and indeed 3.7 was great, 4 was horrible, but 4.5 and version 5 was great also!
