[JAWS-Users] setup software

2013-06-12 Thread Dang Manh Cuong
Hi all
Anyone who know any software to do the things like this?
I'd like to create a cd which contain some common software, and an autorun file
would link to all of these software. Let's me give some more details
2. When start the autorun file, the list of the software appear, then user can
use the arrow keys to select one of this software, then enter two install.
2. I used to see a software like that. It uses an ini file to store the info
such as the location for each of setup file, as well as a wav file to play each
time user navigate to this, but I don't remember the name.
Any help would be appreciated.
Cuong.

hello the third way to do this is;

navigate to where the document is,
do not enter on it, just copy to clipboard,
now go to your outlook2013,
new message, put the necessary information, recipient,
subjectline,
now tab to the body of the message, now paste contents from clipboard,
you should see your attached file.
this works for all versions of outlook.
hope this helps.

If outlook is the default email client, just navigate to the file in
question, bring up the context menu by pressing shift f10 or your
applications key and arrow down to sendto and look for mail recipient.
After you press enter, the email client will open and the file will be
attached and you can press alt s to send it.
The other way to do this is while the email is open that you are composing,
alt n followed by n a f will bring up the insert file dialog, shift tab
twice into the folder list and browse for your document. Once you find the
document, press enter and the document will be attached.

Hi Cuong,

If I understood your wishes correctly, than you would like an opening
screen to your CD. What is about creating a simple HTML page with all
of the needed links to the installabel softwares on the disk? Then you
simply copy this HTML page to your CD and set it as the starting point
in the autorun.ini. In this case your users' windows will start the
default browser and it will open your start screen.
I often use this technique if I have to distribute informations in
various types. It is good to collect all things together in a simple
list with descriptions. It is easy to maintain and easy to understand
for the users, too. As simple as best. Using jscript or vbscript you can
turn this simple page into a sophisticated installation program without
any limitation.

Hi Dang,
If I understand your message correctly, you shouldn't need any software to
do this, unless you are looking for
something elaborate for some reason.
Unless it is disabled on your system, Windows Auto-run, should work just
fine.
If you burn a disk with the installers for different programs, when you
insert it into the drive,
the auto-run window should open and ask what you want to do with the disk.
In this case, you would choose, open folders to view files in Windows
Explorer.
This would present you with a list where you could choose the program you
want.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Please help! my windows7 computer is frozen!!!

2013-06-12 Thread Steve
It is likely brand-dependent as to the procedure to get into safe mode.
Usually, I've seen f8 and in some cases, f2.

It is sometimes hard to catch, but assuming it passes the pre-test where you
may hear a short beep, there will be a quick message on the bottom of the
screen telling you to push f8 or f11 or f2, to get into bios settings. I
just push the appropriate key rapidly until it comes up in safe mode.

If your computer doesn't boot normally, you can try restoring from the
last-known good configuration. There are other things you can do in Safe
Mode, or in Safe Mode With Networking, but it is hard to give you advice
without knowing more specifics.

Jaws currently has no provision to run with speech in Safe Mode. So, you'll
need of pair of knowledgeable eyes.

I currently have the free version of the Word Web Dictionary. I am
contemplating upgrading to the Pro version as my understanding is you
can use wildcard characters to assist in finding a word you want. I
know the free version if pretty accessible with JAWS but wondering
about the Pro Version? If someone on this list has it, please comment

Thanks

[JAWS-Users] Shut down problem

2013-06-12 Thread Rich
Hi all,
I have XP and 14.0 Lately, I've been having a problem with shutting down my
PC.
I will hit turn off and hear the famous tones but the PC doesn't completely
shut off.
I've waited over an hour at times
I have to hard boot it many times.
This seems to be getting more frequent.

Any thoughts?

Thanks so much.

I have not found another way to send an attachment in Outlook2003 other than
the one described by D.W. Just find the file and copy to the clipboard and
paste it into the message body.

Sense your doing hard shut downs. I would run scan disk and defrag.
Then try a restart and if that works do a full shut down.

Hi Rick David,

I was reading a tutorial by David Bales at;

http://goo.gl/uu3XW

In this tutorial he talks about using the, Windows Key + Up Arrow
keystroke

for maximizing windows. Apparently in Windows7 you can invoke this
keystroke on any window you want to maximize Windows7 will maximize the
window remember the setting so you don't have to maximize it again.
This

maximize keystroke only maximizes the window during the current session of
the computer use.
You can also use the keystroke, Windows Key + down arrow, to restore the
window.
It won't remember the maximized window after a reboot or restart.
Take care.

Hi Donnie,
I have found that sometimes while in the system tray pressing Enter on the
selected item does not perform any action, so you can try this
alternative:
While in the System Tray, select the item of interest, and then tab to,
left

double-click, and press enter.

Another way to open the Action Center to solve PC issues is:
From the search box in the Start Menu, start typing:
Action Center
when it pops up in the list, press enter.

In the Action Center, you can tab thru the options using the spacebar to
activate any of the buttons.
As in any situation on the computer make sure to maximize the window by
pressing Alt + spacebar, then the letter X this will help in navigation,
especially when using the Jaws cursor.
You may need to route Jaws to Pc , then page up, to start reading down one
line at a time thru the entire window for the necessary information.
In the Action Center, you can change the settings for when and what you
want

to be notified about, such as:
User Account Control settings
Windows Updates
Backup and System Restore and other security features.

Additionally, Action Center notifications can be set not to show in the
system tray, but I would not recommend this.
