[JAWS-Users] R: multiple email addresses in outlook 2007

2013-08-20 Thread Angela Delicata
Well, thanks, I really appreciate that.
Angela from Italy

-Messaggio originale-

I'm placing the finishing touches to the tutorial, mostly it will cover
managing multiple accounts in a single profile. I am taking it for granted
that whoever listens to it knows how to configure an email account and just
could use some pointers about message rules ETC. With luck it will get
posted by tomorrow morning some time. Sorry for my voice being a little low
but it's clear enough I believe.

If you set up your Gmail account for IMAP, rather than POP3, Outlook will
automatically create a separate inbox and set of associated folders for
it. To do this you must go into your preferences or setting area in Gmail
on-line, and set it for IMAP. Then you have to create a new account in
Outlook using the Tools Email dialogue box, and make sure Outlook has all
the correct settings for that email provider.

As far as sending, you can change which account does the sending in that
same Tool/Email set up area. You can also set it up to send from different
addresses depending on which in-box you are in. It's a pain to set this
all up, and you may need to experiment a bit to get it right, but I've
done it, and it is doable.

Hi friends,

does anyone have any instructions on how to use Microsoft Outlook 2007
with multiple email accounts please?

Basically I have two email accounts set up, a BT account and a GMail
account.

At the moment, messages from both accounts come in to my inbox and I would
like to separate them out if possible in some way.

Also, when I send a new message, it seems to go from the default account
which is the BT one, do I have to use some sort of send as command if I
want to send the message from the second GMail account which is not the
default account?

Many thanks in anticipation for any help.

[JAWS-Users] jaws and thunderbird email program

2013-08-20 Thread Pastor Mark Peveto

Good morning,
Hoping someone can help me with this. I'm trying to arrange my columns
in Thunderbird so it reads the sender, then the subject. I can't seem
to make this happen. Any idea how to do this? I'm using jaws 14 with
Thunderbird 17. Windows 7, 64 bit edition.

Thanks folks.

[JAWS-Users] R: jaws and thunderbird email program

2013-08-20 Thread Angela Delicata
You can do it using the drag and drop functionality in Jaws. For example
if you want to move recipient to the left so that it's before subject:
1. select the first message in the message list.
2. route the jaws cursor to the pc cursor, insert + numpad minus.
3. press insert + left arrow a few times till you get to the column
names, which will include recipient, date and subject. Note that the
names of the column
that indicate stuff like whether the message has an attachment will be
read as a numbered graphic.
4. With the jaws cursor on recipient, press ctrl+insert+numpad slash to
start the drag and drop. Note that you have to use the left control key.
5. Press insert+left arrow till you get to subject.
6. press ctrl+insert+numpad slash again to complete the drag and drop.
7. press numpad plus to switch back to the pc cursor.

Note that if you want to move a column to the right, then when dragging,
you have to move the jaws cursor to the column which is one column after
the column
where you want the dragged column to end up.
Hope that helps.

If you set up your Gmail account for IMAP, rather than POP3, Outlook will
automatically create a separate inbox and set of associated folders for it.

It's a pain to set this all
up, and you may need to experiment a bit to get it right, but I've done it,
and it is doable.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Microsoft Outlook 2007 And Multiple Accounts

Hi friends,

does anyone have any instructions on how to use Microsoft Outlook 2007 with
multiple email accounts please?

Basically I have two email accounts set up, a BT account and a GMail
account.

At the moment, messages from both accounts come in to my inbox and I would
like to separate them out if possible in some way.

Also, when I send a new message, it seems to go from the default account
which is the BT one, do I have to use some sort of send as command if I want
to send the message from the second GMail account which is not the default
account?

Many thanks in anticipation for any help.

Re: [JAWS-Users] protected view

2013-08-20 Thread East, Robin
Hi, try:
Pulled this of the internet...

Screen readers and other AT folks may find accessing MS Office documents
impossible because of a protected view setting. It may be easy to simply
click to turn off this view but those that just use keyboards must rely on hot
keys and this becomes more difficult to do. If one does not disable the
protected view then the documents we use via MS Office 2010 are not
accessible.

Here are steps that you can use to disable the protective view and below this
are steps local IT can do as well.

You need to apply these settings to each Microsoft Office application
individually.

1.Open any Office 2010 application (Ex: Word, Excel, etc.).

2.Click on Office or File button, and select Options.

3.Under Options select Trust Center in the left pane.

4.Click on Trust Center Settings in the right pane.

5.Click on the Protected View in the left pane of Trust Center window.

6.Check/Uncheck Protected Mode Options below to fit your needs

Disable Protected View from Registry (for local IT only)

Like most options in Windows there is a way to disable these settings via the
registry too. If for some reason the options in Office do not work or you want
to be able to automate this setting for multiple computers you can try setting
one or more of these registry values below.

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Word\Security\ProtectedView
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Excel\Security\ProtectedView
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\PowerPoint\Security\ProtectedView

The three values you would want to set are:

DisableAttachementsInPV
DisableInternetFilesInPV
DisableUnsafeLocationsInPV

By setting each value to 1 you will disable Protected View for that file
location.

Hello,
You can also:
1. Once you have the document open press alt + F.
2. After pressing alt + F press control + tab and this should land you
on a tool bar of sorts.

3. Press tab once and you should hear enable editing.
4. Once you land on the enable editing button press the space bar.
5. Once you press the space bar you should get taken back to your

There is a way to turn off protected view for Word documents.
1. From within Microsoft Word, Press Alt F followed by the letter T for
Options and press Enter.

2. Press T to highlight Trust Center.
3. Press Tab until you get to Trust Center Settings and press Enter.
4. Use up and down arrow keys to highlight Protected View.
5. You can tab to four checkboxes, and you can uncheck the ones that you
feel are safe to uncheck. Perhaps the last one regarding data execution
should remain checked.

This is what I have done at my work location and all seems to be well.

Is there anyway to reinstall it without losing one of my 3 installs?
If I modify a document and save it about 50 percent of the time I can not
really save or exit. I get changes have been made to the global template.
It then starts a vicious cycle and I usually just restart the computer,
bring up the file and make the changes a second time. This is on a win 7

See if you can find what you are looking for under the File menu. There is
an Options choice near the bottom. It is really odd in how I have to
navigate to select it. There must be an easier way and hopefully someone
else can set us straight. But in the meantime, here are my crazy
directions.

Alt+F to open the File menu
Down arrow through the entire menu twice until I get to Exit on the second
time through.
Up arrow once to get to Options.
Press enter to select. This will open up the Options dialog box.

Does anyone know why I have to do such crazy navigation to get to some stuff
in my File menu?

Hi Bill Lenny,

While in Word, if you go to Tools, Options, Advanced tab there is a checkbox
that you can uncheck, prompt before saving normal template. If you uncheck
this checkbox, any changes to the normal template will be saved
automatically without bringing up that dialogue. While on the Advance Tab,
Alt + O, is the keystroke that will get you there more quickly. Note: you
may have to invoke the Alt + O keystroke more than once to get you there.
Then, tab to okay, press the spacebar to save your changes close options.

[JAWS-Users] Calendar Reminders in Outlook 2010

2013-08-20 Thread Denny Huff
When I have a calendar reminder to come up in Outlook 2010 I used to be able to
just tab to the dismiss button and dismiss the reminder. Now I have to route
my Jaws to PC to read the reminder and left click to dismiss it.
This began with Jaws 14 and I am now using the latest build.
Any suggestions?

While in Word, if you go to Tools, Options, Advanced tab there is a
checkbox
that you can uncheck, prompt before saving normal template. If you
uncheck
this checkbox, any changes to the normal template will be saved
automatically without bringing up that dialogue. While on the Advance

Alt + O, is the keystroke that will get you there more quickly. Note:

If possible, and to rule out JAWS, if you have another screen-reader you
may need to use it with Word instead. Before doing that, however, delete
all normal.* files and then start Microsoft word again. if it is aJAWS
problem - which it could be, given that normal.dot corruption has been a
liability with JAWS versions going back several years - it will work OK
for a few times, and then you may start getting those messages or
similar again.

[JAWS-Users] found the word problem

2013-08-20 Thread Lenny McHugh
Ok, It is either a word problem or windows 7 problem And I have no idea on how
to fix it.
After the system is started I can go to my documents and click on any doc file.
I can make changes save and quit with alt f4. I can locate a different document
and again update it when finished alt f4 and confirm that I want the file saved.
Now if I use the windows key and in the search type word and launch it I get
the disclaimer that is not for business or something to that effect and my
blank document form. It does not matter if I add text and save or just use alt
f4 to close or under file select exit. Now go to my documents and click on a
file. It opens ok and I can make changes. Now I can not quit word, I get the
file in use scenario.
The only way out is to shut down windows and do a forced quit of word.
I tend to think that the problem is in word trying to close a new document.
Something is left open.
This debugging brought me back to old mainframe debugging trying to identify
the pattern. I have not really done that for 15 years and now twice in as many
days. First the signature hyperlink and now the word problem.

[JAWS-Users] problem installing the mirror driver

2013-08-20 Thread David Ferrin
Upgrading my wife's system to windows 7 home premium from XP pro and the
mirror driver insists upon failing no matter what I do.

I know the video is working fine because she is getting resolutions up to
1600 which makes her icons like dots on the screen but it just won't take
the mirror driver. Obviously this effects doing anything at all with the
JAWS cursor and in other places.

Her device manager is happily reporting everything is fine and trying to
locate newer drivers than what 7 has by default has cost an entire evening
without any success other than to keep us from enjoying our evening. If
anybody out there has an idea please speak up. I checked out the FS
documentation on this subject and no luck on that front.

I know silly me for thinking that I have done this before 3 times the fourth
should go smoothly, ever been wrong it has happened to me.

2013-08-20 Thread Brian Lee
Hello Lenny, I had a similar problem with Word when using Windows 7 and an
earlier version of JAWS. The problem I was having is that the winword.exe
processes were not closing. Go into your task manager by using CTRL with shift
and escape key. In the processes page see how many instances of winword.exe
are running. Select each of them and use the end task button to stop them.
This will at least prevent you from having to restart the system. I don't
remember if the problem was resolved with doing a repair on the office
installation or by installing a newer version or build of a version of JAWS. I
hope you get it worked out. Take care. Brian Lee

on a file. It opens ok and I can make changes. Now I can not quit word, I get
 the file in use scenario.
The only way out is to shut down windows and do a forced quit of word.
I tend to think that the problem is in word trying to close a new document.
 Something is left open.
This debugging brought me back to old mainframe debugging trying to identify
the pattern. I have not really done that for 15 years and now twice in as
many days. First the signature hyperlink and now the word problem.

Re: [JAWS-Users] found the word problem

2013-08-20 Thread Lenny McHugh
Brian, now to find the 3rd event. I crashed it about 5 times before. I
wanted to see if your find was the case and now I could not crash it.
I really thought I found the consistant problem. Now not sure where to look.
It would be useless to write to microsoft. Since it is office 2010 and win 7
32 bit I doubt if they would even take a peek. The next time that it fales I
will look at the task manager. I never thought of that thanks

Hello Lenny, I had a similar problem with Word when using Windows 7 and an
earlier version of JAWS. The problem I was having is that the winword.exe
processes were not closing. Go into your task manager by using CTRL with
shift and escape key. In the processes page see how many instances of
winword.exe are running. Select each of them and use the end task button
to stop them. This will at least prevent you from having to restart the
system. I don't remember if the problem was resolved with doing a repair on
the office installation or by installing a newer version or build of a
version of JAWS. I hope you get it worked out. Take care. Brian Lee

Ok, It is either a word problem or windows 7 problem And I have no idea on
how to fix it.
After the system is started I can go to my documents and click on any doc
file. I can make changes save and quit with alt f4. I can locate a
different document and again update it when finished alt f4 and confirm
that I want the file saved.
Now if I use the windows key and in the search type word and launch it I
get the disclaimer that is not for business or something to that effect
and my blank document form. It does not matter if I add text and save or
