Steve,

GMail is not the only site where WebVisum fails to create an account. I know
of one airline's site where, if you use a third-party solution to attempt to
solve the CAPTCHA, it knows this and it 'kicks you out' back to the start
of the form. Also, there are dynamic http sites where the same CAPTCHA stays
but a minute or two, before it changes. In my experience before I gave
Facebook my mobile number, it was like that.

Mike,

Recently, I found the page doable with Internet Explorer 11, and even solved
an auudio CAPTCHA without much difficulty.

Now, it may be important that at this stage we don't rule out there may be
something that JAWS is not reading with Firefox on the page. I hope you're
not slavishly staying in Forms Mode while filling in the email account and
password details. As an alternative, to mmake sure you're editing where it
is correct to do so, turn off the virtual cursor with Insert+Z, and listen
and tab. I don't know if you've done that.

Sorry, that worked in WMP11. I'm now on WMP12, and it is not or doesn't seem
to be there. If using Windows7, how did you unmake Windows Media Player your
default player? Reverse that procedure.

If you're still using WMP11, Look in Tools | Options. I think File Types is
a tab control on its own, probably right-arrow a few times to the right from
the General Tab.

Now, it may be important that at this stage we don't rule out there may be
something that JAWS is not reading with Firefox on the page. I hope you're
not slavishly staying in Forms Mode while filling in the email account and

If you're still using WMP11, Look in Tools | Options. I think File Types is

For some reason, my JAWS 16 has reverted back to a 40-minute version. I did
nothing to cause this.

I am trying to authorize it manually, not over the Internet.

I typed in the authorization code perfectly. Should I be using the letters
as upper or lower case? I tried it both ways, but not a Go.

I typed in the 5-digit license number that I have always used in the license
code field. It said to be sure to use the last part or something and I don't
know what this means, since I only have 5 digits and nothing more.

I wrote down the locking code, but it didn't ask for that yet. When I
entered on next, JAWS stated that it could not be completed or whatever it
says.

What am I doing wrongly because this 40-minute mode is killing me. Thanks

I think that happens when something goes wrong when Jaws starts and it
cannot verify its license through internet. It could be your internet
connection or their website at the moment of starting Jaws.

You can go to the Jaws windows, Help nenu and Update Authorization, no need
to close and reopen Jaws. Authorize online, it is normally swift.

Thanks
very much for your help, as always.

[JAWS-Users] Note On Gmail Fiasco

2015-02-21 Thread Mike B.
Hi All,

The Gmail account was created using Win7, J16, IE11. 1 cool thing we
found out during this fiasco, because of some problems we caused by being in
the account from 2 different places at the same time was, Gmail's security
does work really well. I couldn't get logged into my account couldn't use
my email account because of the afore mentioned. Well, I received a message
that I needed to get a special code to use as a password because of the
security issues we caused so, once on the website you can have this special
code sent to you on your mobile phone or, check this out, as a auto voice
mail! You put your mobile phone number into the edit field, you find with
your Jaws version of choice, tab down to 2 checkboxes that you check which
one you want, either text message or auto voice mail. Then, go to the, Next
button, spacebar this button wham bam you get this special code in the
choice you selected. I had chosen the auto voice mail option no sooner
had I pressed the spacebar I was receiving a phone call telling me the
special code! I had a text file open ready to type this code into as not
to forget the damn thing! Well long story short, that is a really cool
option if, you ever get your Gmail account set-up cause yourself security
issues. Good luck.
Take care.

Mike,

Sorry, that worked in WMP11. I'm now on WMP12, and it is not or doesn't seem
to be there. If using Windows7, how did you unmake Windows Media Player your
default player? Reverse that procedure.

If you're still using WMP11, Look in Tools | Options. I think File Types is
a tab control on its own, probably right-arrow a few times to the right from
the General Tab.

You may not be doing anything wrong, Mike.

In the past, with Google, I had the same issue. For some
reason, Webvisem
didn't solve the captcha; I needed aa real pair of eyes to
do it.

I thought they had fixed their captcha issue, but I guess
not.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Creating A Gmail Account

Hi All,

I'm sorry if this message has already been posted but, I
didn't get it at my
end so, I'm re-sending. I've been trying for the last 3
hours to create a
Gmail email account. I click on the, Sign In link, then go
to, Create An
Account. I enter my name, what I want my email to be,
password / verified
password, birthday, did not put in a mobile number, checked
the box to
accept the terms, entered the solved Captcha by webvisum.
But, when I
press the next button I'm taken right back to the top of
the, Create
Account, page. The password fields are empty so, I create a
new password
verify it but, after making sure that all the information is
inserted
correctly solve another captcha press spacebar on the
next button it all
starts all over again! I'm running XP, Outlook Express,
Firefox 35.0.1,
Jaws13. What am I doing wrong?! All help will be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks much
Take care.

Finally (one hopes!) for now, you need only have Windows Media Player Select

All the file types that it can play. When the job has been done, you can
reverse the change. AAll of that need take no more than half an hour, and
often a lot less.

What happened to me around three years ago when I created this account is
the same. Webvisum did claim to solve the captcha that I submitted to
google through the clipboard as you do. The point being, it was not
correct. This consistently occurred on more than one computer as I've
created gmail accounts for others as well. That is the only spot where
Webvisum failed to create an account or solve the captcha.

of one airline's site where, if you use a third-party solution to attempt to
solve the CAPTCHA, it knows this and it 'kicks you out' back to the start

Hi list. I was trying to download an audio book from a website and could not
find a download link. A sighted friend said that when she moved the cursor
to a graphic of the title a drop box appeared with a number of options
including a download link. I have tried both the Jaws cursor and Pc cursor
but cannot access this. There is no shortcut key ie d to use, and the
links list does not include the dropbox. I am using JFW13 and Win7, and have
tried both IE 10 and latest firefox with no success. Can anyone suggest any
solutions. Thanks in advance.

Mike,

Sorry, that worked in WMP11. I'm now on WMP12, and it is not or doesn't seem
to be there. If using Windows7, how did you unmake Windows Media Player your
default player? Reverse that procedure.

If you're still using WMP11, Look in Tools | Options. I think File Types is
a tab control on its own, probably right-arrow a few times to the right from
the General Tab.

Now, it may be important that at this stage we don't rule out there may be

If you're still using WMP11, Look in Tools | Options. I think File Types is

Yes, I have turned off the virtual cursor tabbed to make sure that I'm
putting the correct info in the correct places. I've also turned off forms
mode after each edit field re-open forms mode before inserting text into
the next edit field to make sure that I'm entering the correct text in the
correct field. I've tried so many different cominations it seems like I
should have created an account just out of sheer mishap! LOL, hahaha
hahaha hahaha, LOL

It's time to get my wife involved. I've wasted enough time making this a
personal challenge! LOL LOL
Thanks for all your help.
Take care.

Mike,

Sorry, that worked in WMP11. I'm now on WMP12, and it is not or doesn't seem
to be there. If using Windows7, how did you unmake Windows Media Player your
default player? Reverse that procedure.

If you're still using WMP11, Look in Tools | Options. I think File Types is
a tab control on its own, probably right-arrow a few times to the right from
the General Tab.

Mike,

Finally (one hopes!) for now, you need only have Windows Media Player Select
All the file types that it can play. When the job has been done, you can
reverse the change. AAll of that need take no more than half an hour, and
often a lot less.

Computers are no respecters of opinion.

As with Google audio re-CAPTCHAS, so with others. Some of them won't play in
anything except Windows Media Player.

Hi,
I have not had the issue with rereading lines when down arrowing but I
have had the typing issue where it seems that JAWS is causing a
problem with my typing on a Lenovo laptop with windows7 64 bit. This
has happened in Outlook2013 messages when composing a new message or
in Word documents when composing a document. For me since I use JAWS
with a braille display disabling the active follows braille setting
seems to have solved the issue. When I have both of these checked, I
notice that JAWS has this problem.

Hi Group,

I have a friend of mine that is having a JAWS 16 issue. If you can help

Hello, all. I am still not having any success with my earlier issue
involving JAWS 16. I just thought I would revisit, updating you on what I
tried most recently, and see if anyone at all has a suggestion. Please
pardon the lengthy post, by the way.

I am using JAWS 16.0.1925 on a Fujitsu laptop, Windows 7 64-bit. I have 8
mb
of RAM and a 2.1 processor.

When I read through a document line by line, using the down arrow, JAWS
often rereads the line, even though I have pressed DownArrow. In
addition,
I
am a fast typer, and sometimes I notice that JAWS messes up email
addresses
and subject lines in emails I send through Outlook 2010. I could blame
this
on my typing, but I have been a JAWS user since JFW 2.00 and did not see
this issue until I installed JAWS 16.

I contacted FS Technical Support and, upon their recommendation, did a
repair of the install. As that made no difference, I uninstalled JAWS and
all shared components and reinstalled from the DVD. Still no success! I
contacted technical support again, and not only uninstalled JAWS and all
shared components, but removed all JAWS references from the registry. As
soon as I reinstalled JAWS, it worked correctly! However, the very next
morning, we were back to having the issue.

FS seems to think it is not a JAWS problem, but no one seems to be able
to
tell me what setting on my machine to check or change. All other versions
of
JAWS work beautifully.

Does anyone have any idea at all of something I might try? I find it
frustrating to pay for an SMA and then not be able to use the program to
achieve normal productivity on my job.

Re: [JAWS-Users] drop boxes

2015-02-21 Thread Flor Lynch

John,

If it's the Infomation Bar, more about that in a moment.

Does JAWS say 'link' when on the title's graphic? Sometimes ctrl and
spacebar can open a menu undefined by JAWS or a 'box'. There is already a
separate site called Dropbox, so it's best to avoid loose terms like that
one. My first thought was of a combo box, which you would open with
alt+DownArrow.

Also, pres alt-n to bring up the Information Bar (probably that could be
it). Then Allow once or Allow Always, depending on your choice, which you
press space then may arrow to. Then you might enter or double-click to
confirm.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] drop boxes

Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS 16 issue

2015-02-21 Thread Mike B.
Hi Kimber Teresa,

There is something called,Hhardware Graphics Acceleration, in Word, you
can read about it below.

From:
Jean Menzies via Jfw
Just thought I'd share this for those who want to try it.

The symptom. I've often found sluggish performance in Word when searching,
or when opening a second document. Jaws seems to either not be able to read
a screen without refreshing, or, in searching, it would sometimes take two
tries to get to the results. Just plain sluggish.

In going through settings, I came across an option to Disable Hardware
Graphics Acceleration. I checked that and things seem to be much more
responsive
now. I'll see how the day goes. But if anyone wants to do this, go into
Options, Advanced, and the item is in there. If you use the, Alt + G
keystroke,
you'll get to it much quicker. From what I read on Google, if you change it
in one MS program, it should affect all of them. Hey, I don't need graphics
anyway. haha.
Hope this works.
Jean
Note From Mike B.: My settings wouldn't stick until I checked the, prompt to
update style, checkbox. To get to this checkbox the keystroke is, Alt + Y.

Hi Jean Ted,

I went into my MS Word 2010 played around with these 2 settings a little
bit what I found was, sometimes they would hold sometimes not. So, when
I found that they were both checked after a few attempts of saving these
settings again,I got the hell out with the escape key! LOL LOL

Note: I'm not sure but, it might make a difference in which order you check
these options. I've got mine saved now , don't want to play around
anymore.

From: Adrian Spratt
The order in which you make settings turns out to be crucial in Word, as I
discovered yesterday while tinkering with page numbers. I first set the page
number location, then separately suppress the number on the first page,
where the headings are. When I later tried to change the page number
position,
nothing happened until I un-checked the different page setting that
suppressed the number on the first page.

Turn off Hardware Graphics Acceleration in Office 2013

Microsoft Office 2013 is great software for Windows 8 and I am guessing that
quite a few of you may be using it on your system. This productivity suite
