[JAWS-Users] Issues with Netflix and a laptop using JAWS 16

2015-06-04 Thread dacia . luck
Hi,
I just recently got a Netflix subscription. I am trying to figure out how to
navigate the video player with keyboard commands. I'm also trying to figure out
how to turn on the audio description part for the shows that have it. All the
instructions my friends and I keep finding, deal with using the mouse.
Something I cannot do. Any help would be appreciated.

option to upgrade to windows 10. What's the main difference between windows 8.1

Hi, if it won't read when you just open it in Adobe reader. You can open it in
Adobe reader and then press the insert and the or your Joskey in the if you
have a laptop, and press oh for convenient OCR, then press D for document. It
will take a few seconds, but that it should should read read without a problem.
And that keystroke once again is insert space. Or your Joskey and space. If
you've chosen chosen something other than the answer key to be your Joskey. I
hope this helps.

Re: [JAWS-Users] question about Excel and JAWS

2015-07-01 Thread dacia . luck
Hi, what I am one thing, is for it to read the column and row titles as
headings.
For example, if I list peoples names in column a and put the scores they earn
in a game and columns BCDEFG and so on,. I wanted to read John Smith 300 points
if I go to the third column and the third cell of that Collin. Is there a
keystroke to make the headings read like that? Or rather, to make the column
and row titles Rita settings? Does this make more sense? I hope so.
Thanks,

Yes, your instructions were very helpful. Thank you. Do you know how to add
contacts to a group or distribution list once you have created it? For
instance, if you have a board of directors you are on, and want to send
everybody an email, how can you create a distribution list and add all of them
to it? I know control shift L is how you create a list, but how do you add
people to it? Thank you.

Hi, I am looking for a program that is jaws friendly, and accessible, I will
play movies on DVD. I am just 16 and Windows 8. I want to be able to navigate
the menus, as some of my DVDs are TV shows, and I want to be able to select
episodes. Thank you. I am using jaws 16 and Windows 8.1.

[JAWS-Users] Outlook express with Jaws 16 and Window 8.1.

2015-08-24 Thread dacia . luck
Hi, I tried to download
Outlook express, it downloaded fine, and it acted like it installed fine.
However, when I tried to lunch, and gave me some kind of an error. Do I need to
download the Scripps first? Should I read download and try reinstalling it? I
am using a Windows 8.1 laptop, with the latest version of jaws for Windows. Any
suggestions would be great. I have Outlook 2013, but would like to be able to
use Outlook express instead if possible.
Thank you,
Dacia

Re: [JAWS-Users] capcha and firefox and internet explorer

2015-10-01 Thread dacia . luck
Hi,
I am not sure if you can do what you are wanting to do on Internet explorer.
However, if you open the application in Firefox to begin with, you can use the
web this some application that can be installed on Firefox. It will solve the
captions for you. All you have to do is press the applications key, and arrow
down to where it says saw the caption and it will do it for you. I hope this
helps.
Daciaweb visim is the name of the application. If you Google it, you will find
it. It only works on Firefox.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Today's JAWS update, Version 17.0.1377, what it does.

2016-01-27 Thread dacia . luck
I tried to download the update, it look like it could work, but they gave me an
error about the patch not downloading or something. Now my computer will talk,
however, it won't let me navigate to things. It just says the letters I'm
pressing that doesn't tell me anything. Any suggestions? Should I uninstall
jaws and reinstall 17? And not update?

Hi, I asked this in a previous email, but thought I'd ask it again here. The
option to update just came on my computer, so I chose to do so. However, it
said that it couldn't update the patch. And I hit OK. Once I did that, my
computer has not let me navigate things. It talks, and will let me hit letters,
but it's not navigating to anything on my computer. Any suggestions? Should I
uninstall it completely and reinstall just the original Joss 17 cd I got in not
do the updates?

[JAWS-Users] Internet Explorer 11 and JAWS 13?

2014-02-18 Thread Dacia Luck
Hi, Please forgive me if this has been asked before. I am using JAWS
13 would love to upgrade to 15, but that costs money, and who has
that? lol Anyway, I currently have Internet Explorer 9 and Windows 7
64 bit. I know I need to upgrade IE and want to upgrade to IE 10 but
when I tried to find a link and download it and install it it keeps
telling me I still am using IE 9. It keeps telling me to upgrade to
IE 11. How does IE 11 work with JAWS 13, could I upgrade directly to
it or do I need to find a link to download IE 10? if I need to find a
link to download it, where can I find it, and do I need to uninstall
IE 9 before downloading and installing IE 10? Sorry for all the
questions. Any help you can provide will be appreciated.

thanks,

Dacia

Hi, which site did you find the download for IE 10 and which version
of JAWS are you using? I would think the 64 bit would be enough if
that's the operating sytem you're running.

[JAWS-Users] computer freezing up when going through documents list?

2014-02-18 Thread Dacia Luck
I'm not sure if this is a JAWS issue or a windows issue, but when I
lauch my documents and try the first letter navigation or use the
arrow keys to navigate through my list, the computer will freeze up
and JAWs gives an error message and won't let me access the documents.
This doesn't happen when I open Microsoft Word first then choose the
file open option and search the list of documents that way. I have
Windows 7 64 bit and JAWS 13, anyone know of a fix for this?

thanks,

So when I download it and install it it should now recognize that I'm
running IE 10? Because the last time I tried to do it and I went into
the about section it said I was still running IE 9.

[JAWS-Users] question about Windows Updates

2014-02-22 Thread Dacia Luck
Hi,

I currently have the settings set for the Windows Update to download
the updates but let me choose to install them. I had it set at one
point for Windows to download and install them automatically and it
seemed as if everytime I would shut down my computer even if it was
more than once a day there were always updates installing which slows
down the process of the computer shutting down. Now that I've changed
the setting to download them but let me choose to install them, I keep
being told the same updates are available to download every day even
if I've told it to install them. It does and says Windows installed
new updates, click here to see which ones have been installed. Then a
few minutes later it says there are new updates to install and when I
check it out it's the same ones that said they'd just been installed.
Are they not really installing or what? is there a setting I need to
change? The checkboxes are checked for the updates I want to install.
 I have Windos 7 64 bit.

thanks,

Dacia

[JAWS-Users] couple of Excel questions

2014-02-26 Thread Dacia Luck
Hi,

I've created a spread sheet containing a list of people who I am
inviting to an event and to what parts they are invited. Someone else
entered a couple of the names and I think they are misspelled but
can't figure out how to check that and how to edit if they are? I'm
using JAWS 13 and Office 2010.
I can only use keyboard commands, can't see enough to operate the mouse.

[JAWS-Users] word keeps telling me the file is in use by another user

2014-02-27 Thread Dacia Luck
Hi,

Most of today when I try and close a word document it keeps telling me
that the file is in use by another user and when I hit escape it says
changes were made to the normal template and do I want to save them.
I say now. How can I get word to stop saying the file is in use by
another user, when I know it's not being used by another user? I have
word 2010 and JAWS 13.

thanks,

Dacia

[JAWS-Users] google Chrome and Centurylink/Centurytel email?

2014-05-19 Thread Dacia Luck
Hi I have JAWS 13 and also use centurylink email. Those include
embarq mail centurylink and centurytel email. I was trying to access
my email via Firefox and internet explorer and have been having
issues. I've just recently downloaded Google Chrome and I like it. I
can access my email. However, I can't figure out how to make it read
them. Do I need to change my preferences or what? The other two
browsers locked up before they even got to the email. Chrome will let
me see who they're from and read the subject lines, however, when I
hit enter or space bar on the subjects it won't open the email so I
can read it. Is there another command I need to use?

[JAWS-Users] outlook 2010 questions

2014-05-23 Thread Dacia Luck
Hi,

I've just recently configured outlook to use with another email accout
I have. It is through Centurylink which I think also has embarq mail.
What I'm trying to figure out is there a light version Ican use and
if so how do I set it to this? Secondly, when I open messages they
just say read only and when I navigate to where the message body is
they don't read anyting even in messages I know there is text in the
body. I know outlook web app light is only good for office 365 and
live.edu and microsoft exchange servers which my centurytel.net email
through centurylink.net is none of those to my knowledge.

thanks,

Dacia

Re: [JAWS-Users] protected view

2014-05-25 Thread dacia . luck
Another option, is to press Alt F arrow to save and hit enter when it says
saving is not enabled tab to to okay or save not sure which then hit enter.
That will take that file out of protected view. Unfortunately you'll have to do
it for every file.

Did you have to enter the product key when you first launched it? If
so, was it the same product key you entered when you installed ms

Re: [JAWS-Users] outlook question

2014-06-01 Thread Dacia Luck
I've been using the rest of office, namely word and excell for a
couple years. I just configured my outlook email a couple of weeks
ago when it became necessary for me to use it and it says I need to
enter the key the other office programs didn't ask me to do this. I
guess I can try entering the key and see what happens.
