I review every message that comes across this list and I can state for the record you did nothing wrong. So now it's time to put this to bed and get back to the normal business of this list. anyone know where the vquarantined folder location for vipre is I’m using windows 7 if that makes any difference. recently when I did a scan vipre quarantined some threats but could not delete them from my computer, so I thought I would delete them myself from the quarantined folder but I don’t know where it is. Re: [JAWS-Users] vipre antivirus 2014
Hi Kevin, If you want to manually delete items from the Vipre quarantine, start by pressing enter to select the manage tab in the program. Then tab down a couple of times to the Advanced Settings tab. It should have a button that reads Manage quarantine, so press enter on this button. Then simply follow the steps through to select the active action as delete, then tab down to the Perform Selected Action button and press enter on this. The selected items in your quarantine should now be deleted. You can follow the same steps to verify that they actually were. go to control panels folder options enter to open it control+tab to view arrow down to hide system folders and files it should be yes by default press space bar on it to change to no tab to ok after you finish doing whatever you needed to do it’s a good idea that when your finished to turn the hide system files and folders back to yes its easier to do that because when you tab to ok the tab before ok is reset all back to default -Original Message- From: james hooper Sent: Sunday, April 26, 2015 4:22 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] vipre antivirus 2014 Using windows 7 how do you unhide all the system folders? -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Kevin Lee Sent: Sunday, April 26, 2015 5:20 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] vipre antivirus 2014 cool Thank you Mike, I got the quarantined Trojans out! -Original Message- From: Michael B. Then simply follow the steps through to select the active action as delete, then tab down to the Perform Selected Action button and press enter on this. The selected items in your quarantine should now be deleted. You can follow the same steps to verify that they actually were. [JAWS-Users] Vipre antivirus 2014!
All right, you guys are making this complicated then what it really is! let me explain how to get to the quarantine folder in both versions of vipre antivirus. In vipre 2014, you simply open the interface, hit alt V for view, navagate with your arrow keys, to where it says manage malware, and the quarantine folder is right their, with vipre 2015, open the interface, tab to the radio button that says manage navagation, space on that button, then tab twice, and you’ll see an idem called manage quarantine! Mike B, that’s all you need to tell him, it’s that simple. Now I hope my explaination made sense! you just had to make it so difficult for Kevin Lee. Do people think I’m stupid on here? Or what! Agreed on showing Mike a little respect. Not too much now or he'll get a swelled keyboard. Remember boys and girls those of us who monitor the list are ever vigilant. Re: [JAWS-Users] Vipre antivirus 2014!
Hi Bob, Noone thinks you are stupid I don't understand how you came to that assumption because you have a different way of navigating to the Quarantine folder. Kevin mentioned that by going to the Quarantine option in the main interface, it was read only, he couldn't delete the entries. Or, that's the way I understood the post. All I did was give him another option! I'm very sorry that if people don't use your way that we're doing things the hard way we supposedly think you're stupid! This list has many ppeople giving various options for doing all kinds of various tasks noone has been called stupid because 1 person does something a little different than someone else! I'm sorry if I sound harsh because I don't want to come across that way, I just want you to understand that we all do things a little differently depending on the task /job at hand , what does it matter which method a person uses as long as they get the task accomplished. No hard feelings here. Take care. I think there's a distinction to make between a program being accessible versus being screen reader friendly, in that a program that is screen reader friendly allows a blind user to utilize that program more effectively rather than that program just being accessible, which does not promote useability by the blind user. especially with a security suite, one has to respond in a timely manner, and for blind users, we need to be able to do the same. the more screen reader friendly a program is, the more frequently a blind user will use said program. I welcome any thoughts, but not to much as to upset the moderators. - Original Message - From: Kevin Lee klee...@gmail.com To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Tuesday, March 03, 2015 10:56 AM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] antivirus(vipre 2015) I installed vipre antivirus 2015 and I found that even with jaws 16 vipre only work partially. jaws can announce the buttons of operation but not the progress of the virus scan. I cannot say that it is absolutely necessary to run both, but I have had Malware Bytes find things that Vipre did not, and they both are good products. As far as being compatible, they do work well together, but you must install Vipre first, as it will remove any other antivirus/malware software it finds on your computer during its installation. Vipre 2015 was not very JAWS compatible but the latest update of JAWS did make it more compatible, and I find that it works well now.
