[JBoss-user] [Tomcat, HTTPD, Servlets JSP] - Deploying Images Once

2006-04-03 Thread duranek
Hi,

I don't want to redeploy other resources ( images, etc.. ) within war file
after every bugfix. There is a way that i could put them once, and remove them
from war file ?

Sounds like baby is not a resolvable name on your network. Try adding a local
entry for baby on the client - that might solve this for you.

Also, make sure port 8080 isn't blocked.

Simple stuff, but sometimes forgotten when trying to solve much bigger problems.

One more thing:

Check out the WSDL URLs:

http://localhost/testapp/soap/Admin;
http://baby:8080/idassure/soap/Admin;

Looks like not only the hostname/port is different.

Are you using JSR-181 style webservices (annotations)?

TRUE is 01 of course ;)

hmm, query substitution - I have not defined such a configuration and I don't
think that this is the problem, because parameter 9 and 10 for example are
inserted/updated correctly. The SELECT works for all parameters.

DEBUG [pe.NullableType: 60] binding 'false' to parameter: 9
  | DEBUG [pe.NullableType:  60] binding 'true' to parameter: 10
  | DEBUG [pe.NullableType:  60] binding 'true' to parameter: 11

In the hibernate query-log there is no update after this one.

Thank you so far..

Note, there is nothing to prevent you from 'engineering' this yourself. Given n
number of work instances, you just iterate over each one, callling doWork() or
one of the other blocking methods from the WorkManagement API. Though, you
should be careful about things like this as blocking in this case, depending
upon the what you are trying to do, could have serious ramifications to both
the startup (if you were doing something like this at bootstap) or general
funcationality of the adapter itself. Sun recommonds WorkManagement calls being
done in a non-blocking manner (ie scheduleWork()).

This is really now an EJB question. Submit a question in regards to
passivation/activation. If I was to venture I guess, here is what I think might
be happening. You may be getting timeouts/exceptions in your operations on of
SFSB. In the case of an exception, you have to guarantee that the remove()
operation is called (in a finally block). Something tells me that this might
not be getting done. As a result, those instances remain in the pool and are
subject to passivation. Then, they exception you are seeing occurs.

[JBoss-user] [EJB/JBoss] - getPrimaryKey on a Session bean?

2006-04-03 Thread denz97
Hi all,

I'm preparing for SCBCD and I'm using jboss 3.2.8 SP1 as my development/test
server. When I was testing what methods can / cannot be called on a remote
component interface (I mean instance of a class that implements the component
interface), I was surprised when calling the getPrimaryKey method did not throw
a RemoteException.

Running the same code in Websphere Application Server 5.1.1 and Sun's reference
implementation j2ee 1.3 did throw a RemoteException as expected.

Is this a bug in jboss?

Thanks.

dnz.

We failed:

Any ideas appreciated!

2006-04-03 Thread Hannes
I think that the Swimlanes dont get immediately instantiated.
(=SwinlaneInstance).
You may get all swimlanes with:Map swimlanes =
processDefinition.getTaskMgmtDefinition().getSwimlanes();
Then you can explicit ensure that the swimlanes are available -
I got this snippet from somewhere else in the forum (from
brittm):SwimlaneInstance swi = pi.getTaskMgmtInstance()
  | .getInitializedSwimlaneInstance(
  | new
ExecutionContext(pi.getRootToken()), swimlane);

better you take a look in here:

I am not sure if this is what you are after.
Anyway here's a seam action I wrote to serve pdf files and avoid writing a

I guess you should be able to simply change to other mime types like images.

@Stateless(name = ReportAction)

  | @Local(ReportAction.class)
  | public class ReportActionImpl implements ReportAction {
  | @In(facesContext)

  | @In(create = true)
  | private ReportGenerator _reportGenerator;
  |
  | public String generateUserReport() {
  | return generatePdfReport(http://foo.jrxml;, foo.pdf);
  | }
  |
  | private String generatePdfReport(String urlText, String fileName) {
  | try {
  | ExternalContext external = _facesContext.getExternalContext();
  | HttpServletResponse response = (HttpServletResponse)
external.getResponse();
  |
  | URL url = new URL(urlText);
  | byte[] data = _reportGenerator.generatePdfReport(url);
  |
  | configureResponse(response, fileName, data.length);
  |
  | ServletOutputStream out = response.getOutputStream();
  | out.write(data);
  | out.flush();
  | _facesContext.responseComplete();
  |
  | return null;
  | }
  | catch(IOException e) {
  | throw new RuntimeException(Cannot generate report: , e);
  | }
  | }
  |
  | private void configureResponse(HttpServletResponse response, String
fileName, int length) {
  | response.setHeader(Expires, 0);
  | response.setHeader(Cache-Control,  must-revalidate,
post-check=0, pre-check=0);
  | response.setHeader(Pragma, public);
  | response.setContentType(application/pdf);
  | response.addHeader(Content-disposition, attachment; filename=\

Well,it does just not work.
I have current user entity bean in conversational context and all
it`s properties are bound to input components as follows:
h:form
h:inputText value=#{current.firstname}/
h:commandLink action=justcomebackinthispage/
/h:form

When I change the firstname property, next time page is rendered the firstname
is changed. Also seam debug page shows that bean 'current' is changed.
But database table row mapped to this entity bean does not change.
Or are they flushed after conversation end?

[JBoss-user] [JBoss jBPM] - CommandExecutor in aclustered environment

2006-04-03 Thread tx_dome
Hi,

I want to run jBPM in a 2-way cluster, but I saw that the CommandExecutor loads
the messages without locking and processes them.

The problem is, when there is one CommandExecutor on each machine, both could
load and process the same message, isn't it?

The query named MessagingSession.findMessages for selecting the messages is
in the hibernate.queries.hbm.xml file, but it loads all messages at once.

How can I modify jBPM to do a row lock on only the message currently being
processed? It is critical that no message is processed by both CommandExecutors.

Would it be enough to place the line in bold into the executeCommand() method
of the CommandExecutorThread class:

...
message = dbMessageService.receiveNoWait(destination);
jbpmContext.getSession().lock(message, LockMode.UPGRADE);

?

The second problem would be how to make the CommandExecutor to skip the locked
messages.

Thanx in advance

[JBoss-user] [JBoss Seam] - Re: s:actionLink and JAAS

2006-04-03 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Note one thing about s:link (I renamed it yesterday): it does NOT do form
submissions. It is purely for things like search screens and master-detail
views. What it *does* support is:

Calling Actions:

s:link action=#{my.actionMethod}/

Or Navigation Rules:

s:link action=success/
  |   |
  | | Linking to a view by JSF view id:
  |   |
  |   | s:link view=/myView.xhtml/
  |   |
  |   | Both at Once:
  |   |
  |   | s:link action=#{before.myView} view=/myView.xhtml/
  |   |
  | | Specifying the conversation propagation type:
  |   |
  |   | s:link action=#{childEditor.selectChild} propagation=nest/
  |   |
  |   | s:link action=#{childEditor.selectChild} propagation=begin/
  |   |
  |   | s:link action=#{childEditor.selectChild} propagation=end/
  |   |
  |   | s:link action=#{childEditor.selectChild} propagation=join/
  |   |
  |   | s:link action=#{childEditor.selectChild} propagation=none/
  |   |
  | | Finally, if you use s:link inside a h:dataTable that is pointed to
a @DataModel, the @DataModelSelection is populated.
  |   |
  |   | ---
  |   |
  | | I don't see how it is helpful to have s:link support the JAAS stuff
if other stuff like h:commandLink and h:inputText do not ... or are you
assuming that users will be using this stuff together with a library like
tomahawk that *does* support it?

  |  public List getUserTasks(String uid) {
  | List myTasks =null;
  | JbpmContext jbpmContext = jbpmConfiguration.createJbpmContext();
  |
  | try{
  | TaskMgmtSession taskMgmtSession = jbpmContext.getTaskMgmtSession();

  | myTasks = taskMgmtSession.findTaskInstances( uid );
  | } finally {

If I try to call the tasks assigned to any other uid I get return 0 (which I
would expect since no one else got tasks to do)

Do I need to add a userid somewhere else in jBPM or can I take any string and
pass it on to setActorId(), and jBPM will regard him as a proper user?

For my specific environment it would be helpful as I use the tomahawk

seems to add user role support). I don't know how much JAAS itself is really
used which might just over complicate stuff on the Seam side. I am sure I can
play around with the rendered attribute based on user's roles that I expose to
achieve the same effect.

As an aside: to use the ui stuff with the latest myfaces snapshot one has to
change the imports in HTML.java (seems the myfaces guys have moved things
around a bit). Also replace the myfaces-api.jar and myfaces-impl.jar in
seam-src/lib with myfaces-api-1.1.3-SNAPSHOT.jar and
myfaces-impl-1.1.3-SNAPSHOT.jar

[JBoss-user] [JBoss Seam] - Problem using ADF Faces components with SEAM

2006-04-03 Thread crnip
Hello

Currentlly we were developing an application using ADF Faces componets and SEAM
beta 2 version. Everithing works fine. In application we use simple Page flow
definition for some conversation cases.

PROBLEM: When I tried to use newest nightly build of SEAM (20060401)
Application stoped working. When I previously used af:commandLink ...
tag it worked and did make advancement in page flow. Now it does not do
anything. It behaves as i just returned NULL outcome. This must be SEAM problem
because when I switched back jboss-seam.jar to the one distributed
in jboss-seam-beta2 deployment package everithing work again as it should.

What are your suggestion for wrong behavious

Silvo Koren

[JBoss-user] [Security JAAS/JBoss] - Error when getting Subject

Hi, I've a authenticated web application. When I log on it, I should get the
authenticated subject usign this code:

AccessControlContext acc = AccessController.getContext();
  | Subject subject = Subject.getSubject(acc);

But, subject is null.

I've seen a workaround for this:

Context ctx = new InitialContext();
  | org.jboss.security.SubjectSecurityManager mgr =
(org.jboss.security.SubjectSecurityManager)ctx.lookup(java:comp/env/security/securityMgr);
  | Subject sub = mgr.getActiveSubject();

but i want to know if it is a bug really or I'm doing an mistake.

Thanks!

I copied the jbpm libs to server/default/lib
restarted server and
then deployed my .jar/.war/.ear as usual

depending on what your hibernate.cfg.xml looks like, you might need to deploy a
new DS as well.
(in my case I use the same DS as the rest of my application)

I think that was it... have a look in the UserGuide, doesnt it mention the
deployment process in detail?

It would be better if there was a more generic solution.

I wonder if it is possible to create an s:secure tag and then do, eg:

s:secure role=Admin
  |h:commandLink ... /
  | /s:secure

I have not yet investigated whether stuff like this is easy in JSF.

anonymous wrote : I am sure I can play around with the rendered attribute based
on user's roles that I expose to achieve the same effect

The problem I see here is that you need a way to pass the name of the role you
need, and JSF-EL does not support parameters (this is silly, btw).

I guess you could use:

anonymous wrote : s:link rendered=#{not empty user.roles['Admin']}/

or something. But that is kinda ugly.

anonymous wrote : to use the ui stuff with the latest myfaces snapshot one has
to change the imports in HTML.java

Eeeek! Very careless of me, I was NOT supposed to have a MyFaces dependency
there! Fixed in CVS.

[JBoss-user] [JBoss Portal] - multiple CMS instances?

2006-04-03 Thread gruenewa
Hello Community,

i have configured the CMS portlet and deployed it on some portal pages. I would
like to show a different html-site on each of these portal pages. Is there a
way to achieve this? Should i use multiple instances of the CMS portlet
therefore? How would the administration of multiple CMS instances look like
(e.g. multiple instances of CMS admin porltet)? Do i have to create multiple
document repositories in this case?

Thank you!

My Clustering is working properly on 3.2.3, 3.2.5 along with the session

4)deploy\jbossweb-tomcat55.sar\META-INF\jboss-service.xml(usejk= true)
5)httpha-invoker.sar\META-INF\jboss-service.xml

[JBoss-user] [Tomcat, HTTPD, Servlets JSP] - Maybe OT - X509 certificate

2006-04-03 Thread tremalnaik
Hi,
I don't know if this is the correct place where asking this question,
eventually point me to the right resource, please

I moved an application developed on Jboss (4.0.2) in a win environment with Sun
JDK to a Jboss on a Unix AIX (IBM) environment. The application makes use of
SSL connection, so I had a problem with the Sun implementation of the X509
algorithm, not implemented by the IBM JDK, so I did the following to solve it:

I copied the rt.jar, jsse.jar, sunrsasign.jar to a folder of the IBM machine
included in the JBoss classpath

I added the following provider spec into the java.security file of the IBM SDK:

security.provider.1=sun.security.provider.Sun
  | security.provider.2=com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.Provider
  | security.provider.3=com.sun.rsajca.Provider
  | security.provider.4=com.sun.crypto.provider.SunJCE
  | security.provider.5=sun.security.jgss.SunProvider

Everything looks fine now, but I'd like a confirm that I didn't do anything
wrong, like opening security holes or similia.

Has anybody have any remarks?

Thanks

[JBoss-user] [Tomcat, HTTPD, Servlets JSP] - how to setup a mapping from a context directory to an extern

2006-04-03 Thread echofloripa
how to setup a mapping from a context directory to an external directory?? I'm
trying to have a internal directory in the context to point (internally) to a
different directory, transparent for the user... In resin I could use :

path-mapping
  url-pattern/jsp/*/url-pattern
   real-pathc:/resin/resin-2.1.4/apps/ucs//real-path
/path-mapping

is there any similar way in tomcat?? It's not about creating a different
context, I could do that with , but actually I want the /jsp internal to an app
be mapped to a different and shared directory. Is it possible?

Agreed. What I have done to simulate the JAAS roles stuff is expose stuff in my
PortalUser object (this required for each role that I have.. clumsy but works):

  | @Transient
  | public Boolean getServiceManager() {
  | //userHasRole is a hashmap containing all the user roles
  | return userHasRole(PortalRole.serviceManagerLiteral);
  | }
  |

in my view page I then do something like:

  | f:subview rendered=#{portalUser.serviceManager}
  | lis:link action=#{serviceManagementBean.loadAllServices}
  | propagation=end id=serviceManagement
  | h:outputText value=#{msgs.serviceManagement} /
  | /s:link/li

If your code is being completely generated by the latest nightly build of
JBossIDE, this problem will absolutely NOT occur!

Please, I'm getting really tired of people continually reporting this.

If you are having problems, uninstall eclipse, entirely remove your plugins
directory, reinstall everything from scratch.

  |public String done() {
  |return users; // back to users page, this works fine
  |}
  |@Remove @Destroy
  |public void destroy() {}
  | }
  |

Problems:
It works fine when user uses action usersList.done button.
But what about when he leaves this page some other way? Maybe
goes to users page by a outputLink and then selects new user to edit?
Then old conversation is still being in memory, and a new one is created.
Doesn`t Seam have to join that old conversation? Or does outputLink kill the
JSF state?

Anyway, how to solve this problem, it would be nice to have a good solution for
it.

[JBoss-user] [JBoss Seam] - Re: Problem using ADF Faces components with SEAM

2006-04-03 Thread crnip
Hello

Yes you are right. Now just imagine that there is a page where you could select
the type of object to create.

Here is the part of jsp that provides a link.

af:commandLink id=aPartner text=#{msg.class_partner} action=select

f:param name=objectType value=Partner /

/af:commandLink

This link has attached action select. This action represends the transition
name in page flow definition

Here is pageflow definition

?xml version=1.0 encoding=UTF-8?

pageflow-definition name=newObject
start-state name=start

/start-state
page name=selectClass view-id=/selectClass.jsp redirect=true
#{msg.title_selectClass}

page name=editObject view-id=/editObject.jsp redirect=true
#{msg.title_editObject} : #{objectType}

page name=mainAdministration view-id=/mainAdministration.jsp
redirect=true
end-conversation /

/pageflow-definition

In this pageflow definition I still use one particular transition from start to
first page where there is exactly the same transition defined to itself as a
workaround a bug which i thing is allready corrected in current nightly build,
when you imediately traverse to first page.

Here is java ClassSelection object which stores parameter

@Name(ContextVariables.CLASS_SELECTION)
@Scope(ScopeType.EVENT)
public class ClassSelection {
@In(create=true)
private ObjectTypeMapper objectTypeMapper;

@RequestParameter @Out(required=true,scope=ScopeType.CONVERSATION)
private String objectType;

@SuppressWarnings(unused)
@Out(required=true,scope=ScopeType.CONVERSATION)
private String objectClass;

public void selectClass() {
objectClass = objectTypeMapper.getObjectClass(objectType);
}
}

Here is NewObject class which would create new object

@Name(ContextVariables.NEW_OBJECT)
@Scope(ScopeType.EVENT)
public class NewObject {
@SuppressWarnings(unused)
@In
private String objectClass;

public void createObject() {
}

public void removeObject() {
}
}

Currently no object is created yet.

Now when I am in selectClass page select action should take me to the
editObject page. On transition for select I invoke the action which takes
parameter and store it for later usage. On entering the editObject I take this
value and create new object of the type I specified and then provide this new
object to edit page where I generically present properties to edit.
At the end I can store or discard this created object.

This is the scenario which worked before. Now something has been changed in
the way how seam operates that this scenarion no longer works.

There exist also newObject() method which uses proper newObject pageflow. In

pageflow definition. In this example I just concentrated on newObject pageflow.
OpenObject is exibiting same problem.

To clarify things. When I call those two methods newObject or openObject,
proper pageflow were initiated, because I did come to the first pages of both
pageflows. In this example this is selectClass.jsp where lies diferent commands
to invoke particular class. But this is when things stop working. Whwn I used
old distribution of SEAM pageflow was properly propagated to the next page, but
in this new distribution (nightlybuild) pageflow does not propagate anymore
without any obvious reason.

I tried to debug but must first setup correctly seam source code in eclipse so
that breakpoints will work.

What you want is:

You can tune what to do with the conversation by adding

But getting Subject from EJB is little difficult (I feel). Any way, In

getting SubjectSecurityManager, then you are getting Subject. But I am getting
NameNotFoundException for that lookup (means I have to say something to Jboss
regarding for that lookup in jboss-web.xml or jboss.xml) How to say (or how
to configure that lookup), Where you seen that code, Can you give working code,

Thanks

on newObject pageflow. OpenObject is exibiting same problem.

Really, if you want me to help you at this level of granularity, I cant do that
if you are going to throw random fragments of code at me.

So before going any further:

(1) Simplify down to a very simple isolated example with just two commandLinks,
one Seam component, and a pageflow with three nodes.
(2) Post THE WHOLE THING here.

I have no problem helping users with problems, but if you don't sufficiently
simplify things first, you are wasting both our time.

[JBoss-user] [Installation, Configuration Deployment] - Re: problem with implementing TimedObject, ejb verification

2006-04-03 Thread boostbox
Does jboss-3.2.5 support javax.ejb.TimedObject default? Do i need to do some
kind of configuration to make it work? Now i just make my session bean
implement the TimedObject interface, add the ejbTimeout method and deploy. I
have read somewhere that maybe i need to configure some of jboss's xml files?

Appreciate any help..

ejb timers are only available in 4.0.x, this is a j2ee1.4 feature.

[JBoss-user] [Security JAAS/JBoss] - EJB Client does not provide SECURITY_PRINCIPAL correctly

2006-04-03 Thread pimpf
Hullo there,
It is obviuos for me that I'm missing something while I'm trying to make a
secure invoke of EJB method but I can't see where exacly is the problem.

Here is how a client call EJB method:
HashtableString,String props = new HashtableString,String();

props.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,org.jnp.interfaces.NamingContextFactory);

props.put(Context.URL_PKG_PREFIXES,org.jboss.naming:org.jnp.interfaces);

props.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, jnp://localhost:1099);

props.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, pimpf);

props.put(Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS, passwd);

return new InitialContext(props);

}

/**

* Get the home interface

*/

protected SessionEJB getHome() throws Exception {

Context ctx = this.getInitialContext();

return (SessionEJB)ctx.lookup(pimpf-test/SessionEJB/remote);
}

I have very simple LoginModule which extends AbstractServerLoginModule, but in
method initialize:

 public void initialize(Subject subject, CallbackHandler callbackHandler,
  Map sharedState, Map options)
   {
  super.initialize(subject, callbackHandler, sharedState, options);
  log.trace(Principals are: +subject.getPrincipals());

what the log file says is:
Principals are: []

Can anyone tell me what I'm missing on the client side, because the module is
called, but somehow it decides that the caller is anonymous?

[JBoss-user] [EJB 3.0] - Re: Attaching and dettaching EJB3 Entities

2006-04-03 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
I agree the specification should handle this problem, but the vendors on the
commitee each had their own way of doing this and nothing could be agreed upon.
 I suggest sending some feedback to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
