Bill,

I'm sorry for the confusion. What I was asking about was the videos
mentioned as per below.

"Dan
I do have the legacy videos fast start and techniques I have converted them
to mp4 format and I will try and put them in dropbox for you. I will let
you know if it works. You will need a mp4 player to watch them. any other
format is just too big
I can only do this because in a on line seminar that we manual guys had

Bill

If you can put them in your dropbox it would be great.

Thank you,

Bill,

Thank you. I used the link from the earlier listing and all I got was a
video and an MP4 file about turning a hollow spiral using the Woodchuck.

Also, did I read somewhere on this blog that you live in Rockhampton?

Thanks,

Jim

Any chance of getting an email of the manual.  If it is too large, how about an

Any chance of getting an email of the manual.  If it is too large, how about
an upload to an FTP site like Dropbox?  That way anyone who wished could
 download it.

work drop box a pfd file which is the manual every one is asking for on the
group and a folder containing all the video files .let me look again and see
if i can find out whats wrong and if any one out there can help or the link
is working for them please let us know

Is there anything I need to do on my end?

Re: legacy manual

2014-01-15 Thread SteveEJ
That's the problem. I bought it from Legacy as a 900 Standard CNC that
someone had traded in. I would have to do a complete swap out or get the
gears, etc. to make it work. I got really frustrated with Mach3 and all of
the steps needed to make it line up correctly, etc. I have driven several
bits thru a bird thinking it would be OK before hitting Cycle Start.. I
also have a Carvewright and it carves extremely well for a lot of things.

Still have the Revo and it would be nice to have both manuals (900 non-cnc
and Revo).

Maybe when I retire again I will have time to sort the 900 CNC/Mach3 stuff
out.

Thanks,

Steve

Another option you may not have thought of swap the rails of your 900 and your
revo so you will have a short cnc mill and a long revo and if you put spacers
under the revos head and tail stock it will be able to do the same dia work as
a 900 as well

and you will have a manual machine that will do all the work a 900 can do

Arkady If Legacy is not making parts that you want, Then I would give Tim
a (off line E-mail) He can make (or have made) any parts you need. I know
that. everyone money is tight these days, but Im sure if the need is

You should see all the things that Ive had him make for me in the past,
his work is top knotch. From the design to the laser cut
ing of parts... I recemend his craftsmanship!

Hello My best advice it to call Legacy and talk to Tracy or Andy. If there
web site still offers the manual machines, perhaps they still have a few in
reserve? Just because they are not making them, dose not necessarily mean
that they do not have any for sale. But as far as I see it, that's there
 call to make.

If you are in Europe Why not call Roger He is closer to you and perhaps he
can help? http://www.woodworkersworkshop.co.uk/ this is his web site.

 Hello,

The information about the lack of parts and the end of the line for the
900 and 1200 are true. Legacy really needs to update the manual machine
website. I am sure you are not alone in thinking the manual machines are
available. It is also true that they are designing new ones, and perhaps
the site should also say that.

The last official word that I heard was Andy was satisfied with the current
second hand market filling the needs of buying a model 900/1200/1800. If you
want one of those models you will have to make arrangements with a previous
owner to buy theirs. Legacy still carries a limited amount of accessories and
the parts such as the split nuts, bushings and bearings however there may be a
long waiting period (months) to receive them. This was second hand
information, but I do believe it's reliable.

I really hope the manual machine web site does not get completely blown out
with the arrival of the new machine. The loss of the tutorials and techniques
would be devastating. There are a lot of users out there that use their
machine once every other year and forget how to do things. Those videos are
important lessons. I have made several offers to store the information on my
server is they ever decide to do this. It is my hope that they will take me up
on this offer when the time comes.
