Thank you to all who have expressed an interest in establishing a group
specifically aimed at both potential and current web users.

At present I am 99.99% of the way to creating a Yahoo Web Group and will
have it up and running by Sunday at the latest. I have kept a folder of all
the replies and will contact the writers as soon as it is ready.

May I suggest that others who may wish to partake, or just would like the
details, to contact me off-list at the above address. I would also like to
hear from other experienced html/_javascript_ coders who would like to help
out.

Many thanks,

And can I included living persons as long as I have thier permission. And can I add links to this as well ?  I do have the latest deluxe version of Legacy so I would love to get started asap. 2007-01-21 Thread Candi

Dear Ron,

I am so, so sorry if there was ever a misunderstanding between us and
yes the information Legacy gave could have been much more clear as it
scared me that I had totally messed up my file. So that might be why
my words came across that way, it was pure fear. Please accept my
apologies if I sounded wrong and Please lets start over. As I said
before I have seen how much and how kindly you have helped others and
I think this is grand.

Have A Wonderful Day,

RE: [LegacyUG] Not In Current Ancestor Line

2007-01-21 Thread Candi

Good Morning Jack & Jenny,

I never for one minute thought Ron was critsizing me or saying I
wasn't being helpful. I only said I was telling him verbatim what
happened when I rested the mouse over the box. I said I appreciated
all his kind help to me and others. I understand it wasn't something
that had been addressed before and maybe the programmers needed to
take a look at it. I wrote Ron and Nancy a very nice thank you note
to let them know how much I dearly appreciated all thier assistance.
Nancy did have the answer I needed and maybe someone else in the
future will need. I thank everyone for all thier help as I hope to
be able to help others.

Have a wonderful Day,

Candi :-)

Hi Ron,

Thank you so much for your help, but I have already tried both of

[LegacyUG] Can Not Merge Duplicate Files

2007-01-14 Thread Candi

  Good Morning Group,

I have what I think is a terrible problem and need help please. I
have merged other files into my own and have many many duplicates. I
have tried several things to merge my duplicates. I've tried manual
merge, Intellisearch,Find duplicates,I have tried everything under
merge options and to no avail. I am so frustrated. I click on find
duplicates and it tells me there are none, yet I go to my names list
and I can see them there and there are many. I know there is an
answer to this and I have tried all that I know about before asking
for help. I thank you ever so kindly for your time in this.

Re: [LegacyUG] Timelines

2007-01-06 Thread Candi

Good Afternoon Everyone,

I would love to make a small suggestion about timelines. Usually I
just kind of hide in the background. Many years ago I ran into a
wonderful site at ourtimelines.com it is so fantastic You put
in the date of birth and date of death and it tells you all that
happened in the world during that time frame. Many of you no doubt
already know about it but thought those that don't may enjoy it.
Also those in New Mexico wil love to know there is one for there as
well.

Sincerely,
Candi

Good Morning Richard,

I want to thank you ever so much for your help, it was of great
value. I now know what I need to do. I also went back to archives and
searched charts that was also a major help. I kept seeing in archives
the mentions of Reunion & Generation, would you happen to have to web
address' for these two ? Again thank you so much for all your kind
help.

Re: [LegacyUG] Need Help on Legacy Pedigree Report Please

2006-12-14 Thread Candi

Hi Richard & Jenny,

The closest guess is, I am trying to make a 12 generation wall chart.
So I don't want it to say " person 5 on page one is the same as person
1 on page 2". I want it to be a continual flow. Now I have seen many
ad's whereas you send them your gedcom and they will make you a wall
chart but I found a place here in town where I can get the same thing
printed a lot cheaper. Thank you very much for all your help it is
greatly appreciated.

[LegacyUG] Need Help on Legacy Pedigree Report Please

2006-12-13 Thread Candi

Good Evening Legacy Family,

I need a little help in how to set up a Legacy Pedigree report. I
would like it to follow straight through much like Genbox does,
whereas it does not go >>> 'number 1 is the same as number 5 on page
1 and so on. I noticed that Genbox can do that and silly me I deleted
the trial version of Genbox out of frustration. I did it once on
Genbosand then silly me I didn't print it and then when I went back
to print it I forgot how I did it. I have Legacy 6 the deluxe version
and I love it. I know this can be done I just can't remember how. I
found a place where I can have it printed all one one very long sheet
and the cost isn't bad. The one I want to do includes dob & dod for
everyone one the sheet and I guess date of baptism and marriage. if I
haven't confused everyone can sks please give me a hand.
 Thank You Very Sincerely,

Candi

RE: [LegacyUG] New TreeDraw V3?

2006-11-25 Thread Candi
Hi Jeff,

I was looking at companion and Tree Draw and wondered which is best. I
want to do a wall chart that includes DOB & DOD for 25 generations and
maybe even include siblings as well. Can that be done with either of
them ?

Are they pretty easy to work with ? I have been doing genealogy for
30+ years but I am new with these programs. Can handle all the advise
I can get.

Have a fantastic day,

Candi

Re: [LegacyUG] A little off topic but...

2006-11-13 Thread Candi

Hi Alastair,

I personally was very impressed by this, thank you for sharing this
info. I have some very important books that are very old that need to
be scanned. This is the best option I have seen so far. Can you tell
me where I might find one of these to purchase and maybe the price ?
These are books being held by a historical society that they have
granted me permission to copy.

Most Sincerely,
Candi DeGrande
