The users assumption that only a selected tab would be applied when they used multiple sources on the clipboard was one of the main reasons we removed the multiple source clipboard from Legacy 7. You may have been correct that with very early versions of 7.0 there was a multi-source clipboard but by the time Legacy was updated to 7.4 and 7.5 the clipboard only held one source. The multiple source clipboard has been re-introduced in Legacy 8.0 as an option and the help for the source clipboard explicitly says that all sources on the clipboard are assigned (that information was present in the Help for Legacy 6 and earlier but was not as clearly specified as it is now). Susan, You can save up to 10 different clipboards and you can pull them up as needed. That is different than the 5 sources that you can put on a single clipboard. At the bottom of the Source Clipboard you will see two buttons, Save Citations to Disk and Load Citations from Disk. That is where you can save and pull up 10 different clipboards. Re: [LegacyUG] Can a source be added to a location?
Hi Len, You can't add a source but you can add Location notes in the Master Location list when you click to Edit a location. You can include the sources of your notes within the note itself. Also note you can use Privacy brackets so that if you include a Location index with Notes in a report, it is selective in what notes or how many are included. I often copy and paste from a website and put all that in Privacy brackets with a brief summary and the website URL outside of the Privacy brackets. RE: [LegacyUG] Report comparing people with same name??
Exporting search lists to a CSV is one of my favorite things to do ☺ ☺ ☺ ☺ Michele Technical Support Millennia Corporation mich...@legacyfamilytree.com www.legacyfamilytree.com From: Pat Hickin [mailto:pph...@gmail.com] Sent: Thursday, August 6, 2015 11:08 AM To: legacyusergroup@LegacyUsers.com Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] Report comparing people with same name?? At the bottom of the search list if you click Print you will be able to set up the report however you want with the fields you want to compare (except the names of children). You can use this report as is or you can export it to a CSV file and then open it in a spreadsheet. If you do that you can sort by column or multiple columns to rearrange the data in such a way you will see possible duplicates. Re: [LegacyUG] QUESTION
Thanks. I guess the Supreme Court removed the jurisdiction question right? Tks- Barry From: Brian/Support br...@legacyfamilytree.com To: legacyusergroup@LegacyUsers.com Sent: Wednesday, August 5, 2015 9:29 AM Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] QUESTION There is no way to suppress the sentence for their marriage date and place in the report. As Cathy explained in her reply you do have some control over wording. If you leave date and place blank there will still be a sentence in the paragraphs like Joe had a partnership with Bill. In terms of their relationship however I would enter the date and place where they were married if that is legal in the jurisdiction where they live or the date and place where they began living together since you say you are not sure if they married.
