Hi,

This fix is not mentioned in 5.0 release notes. There seems to be no 4.5
release. So, in what version the fix will be available?

Thanks,
Emel

Indeed, if we let this one open, it may stay a long time like this since a lot

I received a private mail from Gwendoline

here's what she said

-

I have installed Yosemite and the latest (4.4.4) Libra office. However I
cannot run Dragon Naturally Speaking with this combination of programs to test
it since Dragon informs me that it is not possible to run the version I have
under OS 10.10.3.

However the upgraded operating system does speech recognition and takes
dictation. I have not done a formal comparison with Dragon, but in brief it
works, and so I am not planning to upgrade Dragon, and my problem is solved.
(I can also type two handed now!)

THank you.
-

so basically the original conflict with Dragon and latest LibO releases under
Mac is not testable anymore on her system and she's using a different software
which works fine in LibO.

let's keep this bug report open in case other Dragon Mac users will report
additional issues

Running LibreOffice 4.4.3.2 on Windows Vista 64 bit, but I don't know if this
error is on earlier versions because I noticed it only now.

When exporting a document to .docx format (be it Word XML or Office Open XML),
any text formatted as hidden is shown on Word 2010 as if it wasn't hidden.
Also, it appears as if formatted with a yellow background (only on the lines,
not o the paragraph).

Running LibreOffice 4.4.3.2 on Windows Vista 64 bit, but this problem occurred
on earlier versions such as OO.o 3.

Whenever you create a footnote and save the document as .doc or .docx, when
Microsoft Word 2007/2010 opens it, the footnotes' lines always starts with a
tab. It's sort of this:

An .odt file with a footnote.¹
-
1 This footnote was saved on an .odt file and opened on LibreOffice Writer.

A .docx file with a footnote.¹
-
1 This footnote was saved on a .docx file and opened on Microsoft
Word.

This makes difficult round tripping documents between text processors because
one needs to erase all the tabs LibreOffice inserted when exporting the
document.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 91421] Spell checker seems not to work at all; installation as "default" mode today.

2015-05-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91421

Thanks Beluga for your help on this - if I need the spell checker I'll do what
you say.

Of course it doesn't fix the problem, which is real. As I said a short while
ago, "I think the spellchecker doesn't work because it's inner pointers are
either not properly pointing, or are pointing to something irrelevant - - -",
then said I had to reboot because "LibreOffice has stopped being able to open
files - - -".

The other programs I was using before the re-boot were working fine, it was
just LibreOffice that seemed ill. When I did restart, everything was good
again with LibreOffice (which I took as confirmation of my opinion).

I was going to say yesterday (not as a bug report, but just describing my
experience [about what I regard as a general malfunction that will probably
take a lot of work to fix, and I don't know enough to try]) that I've noticed
quite a few "pointer problems" etc. while using the Word Processor.

These include the cursor being somewhere else than I expect during or after
typing an amendment - just an annoyance, not a real problem.

Another problem is with good and consistent formatting of automatic paragraph
numbering (which IS a real problem), even though I've been extremely careful
with amendments along the way, and carefully treating the whole automatically
numbered section before I close the file.

It looks lovely when I close the file. But on reopening the file, the
numbering is right but the sizes are wrong, for example, or everything seems OK
except that all the automatic paragraph numbers on all 3 levels are "bold" when
I thought they would be (as they should have been) not bold.

Again just my opinion, but it seems that parameters used by the file at
reopening time are not what they should have been set at, or are not where they
should be - when at file closing time they made everything look OK.

Anyway I'm not a rich person, and haven't yet made a donation - I will when
either of these issues suddenly come right in some revised release without
"breaking" something else - - -

Best wishes!

I guess that your document is using a variable-pitch font which makes
spaces narrower than other characters (which are of different widths,
anyway). Try using a fixed-width font for the pasted text--perhaps
Courier, or anything with "mono" in the name. You may also want to
use a smaller nominal size for the fixed width font. I think you will
find the results more to your taste.
>
> And the consecutive individual lines (each terminated with the Enter key) in

Each line-end from the plain text file is coming in as a separate
paragraph. One fix is to select the pasted text and reduce the
interparagraph spacing (menu Format > Paragraph) to, say, zero.

This need not be as tedious as it sounds: styles are your friend.

By the way, you may find that the user forum at
will give you faster and better answers
to how-to questions.

Alas, I cannot help \with your hang-up.

HTH,
Terry.

The green data bar lines mentioned in bug 90511 didnt get fixed with the
patches Markus submitted and i believe this to be due to the order of the rules
in LO is different from how it is in Excel.

Excel
--
C5:E30
F5:F30
F5:F29
C4:E30

LO
--
C4:E30
C5:E30
F5:F29
F5:F30

This maybe caused by the fact that C5:E30 and F5:F30 have multiple rules with
the same range which appear above and below C4:E30 and F5:F29 with Excels rules
list, while in LO they are all grouped under one entry in the manage
conditional formatting dialog. I assumed this is the case, as deleting F5:F29
in LO fixes the problem.

If you right-click an image in Writer in French, the menu contains the option
"Modifier l'image...", which is an inaccurate translation of "Change image..."
in this context. Someone looking to replace the image will never figure out
that this is what it means. The correct translation would be "Remplacer
l'image".

However, the English version would benefit from the use of a clearer term (to
avoid situations like these in the first place), so I would propose that you
change the string to "Replace image..." — that's what DTP software like Scribus
calls it too, IIRC.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 91648] New: LibreOffice Keeps Seizing Uo, Forcing Manual Restart & Document Recovery

2015-05-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91648

Bug ID: 91648
Summary: LibreOffice Keeps Seizing Uo, Forcing Manual Restart &
Document Recovery
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.2.8.2 release
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: oldef...@cox.net

Writing a report of some ideas, trials, and results using LibreOffice as my
journal writer. This went on for hours last night as I added, modified,
deleted text in the journal file I am creating. I also did repeated
copy-and-paste operations with text from other sources rather than repeat it
all by key entry.

During those hours last night, I repeatedly, maybe once an hour, would suddenly
find that LibreOffice had suddenly stopped echoing keystrokes. The mouse
pointer could be moved, but nothing in LibreOffice was responding. Even on the
menu bar, the mouse behaved strangely, showing a vertical bar for the cursor
instead of a pointer (in my case, an arrow).

I could not move or resize the opened windows. I could not close anything or
save the work at hand. I could not start or stop any applications.
LibreOffice had seized up on me, disrupting normal mouse and keyboard
activities. My PC was now almost completely stalled. I could not log out.

What I found I could do is use the mouse and still do a Restart or Shutdown. I
repeatedly did restarts during the night, then reopened the journal file and
had LibreOffice perform a repair/recovery process, which it was successful at.
I would keep loosing changes and additions to the journal file when this
happened, always the most recent work I was involved in.

Getting back most the file contents was great, but it would disrupt anything
that I might have had uoened and doing at the time the seizure took place, and
meant a lot of other work had to be restored as well as repeating the lost
steps in the journal, si I count this as a major problem that needs to be
resolved.

==

An incidental issue is that when copying plain text from another file, the
horizontal spacing between vertical columns is screwed up, so the columns
appear skewed back and forth instead of being vertically stacked when the paste
is done.

And the consecutive individual lines (each terminated with the Enter key) in
the selected block from a plain text file may then be pasted into the journal,
but seen as though double spaced. This cannot be adjusted out. Repeated
attempts only show it was stuck in this mode of pasting at this particular
place in the file being handled by LibreOffice.

Win 7, 64bit, LO 5.0 beta 1

To reproduce:
1. Open and LO aplication, tested with Writer and Calc.
2. Click FILE menu (or EDIT, or VIEW, or any other).
3. Go up/down hovering (not clicking) over menu items in that menu.

Result:
Menu is constantly re-drawn (!?) and flickering.

In LO 4.4.2 when you do same, nothing happens, menu stays solid.

Can't capture this in picture, should make video recording if I had time and
knowledge.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 86126] Document formation... [Hard to reproduce]

2015-05-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=86126

I can get the 77 pages with one blank page.

1. Open document.
2. Wait. For me it says 69 pages and the OLE Objects are greyed out in the
Navigator.
3. Don't do anything and eventually the OLE Objects appear and the page numbers
increase to 77.
Result:
Page 41 was blank.

On the page after the blank is an image (graphics11). When I opened the Image
dialogue and went through the tabs to the Crop tab and then cancelled out, the
image changed size. I went back into the Crop tab and while there more blank
pages were added. If I waited before going back into Image then it settled
down to 76 pages.

Hi, please take a look on my attachment. There you can see that i already have
the "template" button (German = Vorlagen).

But in my opinion, it is very annoying serveral times a day to open template
box .. search and select template .. use it .. save it ..

alternative start the template by desktop-link but this fills up my deskop with
a lot of links .. very unclear :(.

This is the reason why i want to get a "favorite"-template funktion.

Found a silly around the lifecycle of FixedText's - causing a crash in dbgutil

I was going to say that perhaps the Images on/off got toggled in the View menu

When cells are formatted with Protection, Hide When Printing, and the cell

Thanks for the trace - this -should- be fixed by this commit:

commit 0792e97bd7ea6f23c908bdebc4826b08c6265d55
Author: Michael Meeks
Date: Sat May 23 19:44:15 2015 +0100

VclPtr - add compat methods for old-style focus / notification.

Any chance you can re-test & re-open if not ? =)

Thanks !

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 91416] EDITING: Crash on changing value in simple spreadsheet

2015-05-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91416

Interesting; there was another crash on edit that Markus fixed just the other
day - which is an autocorrect foo. I've fixed up a number of VirtualDevice
lifecycle issues - thanks Julien for that pointer; I think it's prolly best not
to use the ScopedVclPtr for that here: ScopedVclPtr behaves somewhat oddly.
Test build running here: https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/15913

--- Comment #2 from Chris Chambers <4myfor...@outlook.com> ---
It is similar to bug #90333 but that one only specifies a problem with
Dictionaries path. There is also a problem with the My Documents path.

3.6.6.1 asks for a filter, then throws an exception
3.3.4 and 3.3.0 crash immediately..
so an older problem.
