Thanks again Erez, I tried to follow the way that you have suggested. At one point of your instruction you have mentioned set box setting: width according to how many pics in a row. If three, then 33%. Right-clicking on the image i do get the settings but i did not find anyhting named box settings I am using LyX version 1.6.1 and i have the following tabs in the settings dialog. *Graphics *Clipping *Latex and LyX options Did you mean the Clipping one as box? Please guide me through the way. Hello forum, I have inserted a float figure and then inside the float figute i have added two graphic objects side by side and it worked fine. Then i moved to the second row after putting some vertical space and added 2 images the same way as above, bur this time part of the images are cropped. Any hint on that one? Regards Sajjad

Hello forum, I have inserted C++ code snippet inside the float:algorithm block and then i inserted vertical spaces And then i inserted float:figure, inserted images. When i preview the in the pdf format the images show up before the code snippet. I should be vice versa. Any idea on that one? What am i missing in the process? Regards Sajjad

In the Left Header from the Environment menu i am providing my mailing address. On the first line i am changing the environment to Left Header from Standard and entering the first line of the address On the second line i am changing the environment again to Left Header from Standard and entering the second line of the address When i view the dvi format i see that only the last line is visible. Hi everyone, Please note that I'm not subscribed to the list so please CC me replies if there are any. The purpose of this script would be to create a summary of the GNU/Linux tools summary, ie. an alphabetical list with the name and then 1line (or 2line) descriptions of each command, a user could then go to the relevant section about that command The document is obviously setup so this can happen Does anyone know of a simple way to copy/move the description style with the LyX file? I've being working on a script that will go through the LyX file, take out each area which is of type Description and store it somewhere. (Its a little more complicated then this, see below). It will then sort all the descriptions and output a file with them in alphabetical order. Does anyone know an easy way to do this? I've currently being creating a script in Python to do this but its quite buggy and I've still got a lot of work to do on it The rough description is: Find each of type description in the LyX file, copy the information from that point until we reach a point where their is: a) increase of depth (embedded). b) another thing of type description. c) a different type of layout. Of course the document has notes,footnotes,index listings to make this job more complicated. Once this information is stored somewhere then it is sorted and outputted to a new file which can be based into a LyX document and will just work (currently it needs about things fixed before it works). Hi. I was just wondering if anyone had any advice or tutorials for using Lyx and Docbook (SGML and XML documents) for LDP work. My intention is to create a LDP Guide and/or Howto. I've already had this written in LyX but their rules only allow docbook, SGML or XML Any advice? Any tutorials which would help? I know LyX has some built-in template to work with Docbook... How do you colour different sections different colours (sections, sub-sections) etc. Is it possible, I know that you can manually specify colours of areas of a document but is there a way to specify that all sections or subsections or sections* or paragraphs etc. etc. will appear a different colour. e.g. Title in Red, Sections in Blue and subsections in Green?? Is it possible? Is it possible to have emphasised text a different colour? how about bold text?
