Buggy behaviour with package hyperref and option pdftex

2002-09-19 Thread Christian Ridderström

Hi

When using the package hyperref, together with the option pdftex, Lyx
hangs if I try to do View/DVI. It works if I do View/PDF (pdflatex).

Should lyx really hang in this situation, even if you are not allowed to
use the pdtex-option together with View/DVI?

I've put a very simple .lyx-file that illustrates this behaviour here:

This has been my experience with hyperref too. You can either remove it
from your preamble when you want DVI/PostScript output (\usepackage{url}
is sufficient here) or if you want to be really clever, use an if loop
in the preamble so that hyperref only kicks in if pdflatex is used (I
can't remember where I read how to do this, but a search should turn it up).

\addcontentsline in komascript-article with hyperref does not create proper hyperlink.

2002-04-30 Thread Ananda Murthy R S

Hi:

I am using komascript-article class with hyperref package in LyX Version
1.1.6fix4 on Linux Mandrake 8.1. In my article, I have added contents line
given below:

\addcontentsline{toc}{subsection}{Sub-section Title}

This command is adding the line 'Sub-section Title' to the table of contents.
But, when I create the pdf file from LyX using Export -- PDF, there is no
hyperlink from this contents line to the correct location. Instead, it is
always linking to the last numbered section.

If I use addsec, this problem is not seen.

This problem is not seen if I use article class instead of komascript-article
class.

Can anybody explain how to solve this problem.

Thanks in advance.

Sincerely,

Ananda Murthy R S

switch off citation links in hyperref

2001-12-10 Thread Michael Koundouros

Hi lyxers

I want the citation links turned off when I use the hyperref package. the
reason is that the links get turned from [1-3] to [1,2,3] for example, so
that you can click on each of them. Does anyone know how?

regards
Mike

to get [1-3] you need package cite. therefore you can use

ifpdf{\usepackage{cite}}

RE: Conflict between hyperref and shortcaption trick!

2001-10-17 Thread Zailong Bian

Thanks.

What I tried to do is to export to latex and edit the stuff by hand. I
change the order of the usepackages and the inserted code from that trick.
I discovered that I need to load the trick code last. If I put it in
stdlayours.inc or scrreport.inc, that code will be loaded before hyperref,
which causes the problem.

So what I did: split the trick mentioned, one part goes to scrreprt.inc:

Style ShortCaption
 CopyStyle Caption
 LatexName setshortcaption
 LabelString SCaption:
 LabelType Static
End

And all the actual code goes to latex premeable (menu). After that, the
problem is gone.

I will try to put hyperref at the end to see if that works too.

babel hyperref problems

2001-10-05 Thread E GCP

Hi,

Is there a way to make LyX not use the \usepackage{babel} command? I'm using
hyperref and having Babel causes my bibtex references not to be hyphenated
properly. For now, I just export to TeX, comment out the babel package and
then convert with pdftex, but I would like to see the document exactly as is
going to be with XDVI when I'm typing it in LyX.

Thanks,

Re: lyx hyperref error

2001-09-27 Thread E GCP

It seems, the problem is that hyperref redefines \contentsline, because it
needs additional information. So you have to provide the extra argument. If
I add the extra argument as shown below everything works fine with the
hyperref package.

%\addtocontents{lof}{\protect\contentsline {part}%
% {\protect\figurenameToC}{\protect\relax}{Figure}%
%}

Thanks for all your help.
-Enrique

the following lines in the thesis.cls are the problem. if you could
comment them out, all should work. hyperref can't handle such command
structure. with these changes it worked for me and the changes are only
for the toc, lof and lot and not important.

Herbert

% Adds the appropriate label to the ToC/LoF/LoT
%\addtocontents{lof}{\protect\contentsline {part}%
% {\protect\figurenameToC}{\protect\relax}%

%\addtocontents{lot}{\protect\contentsline {part}%
% {\protect\tablenameToC}{\protect\relax}%

%\addtocontents{toc}{\protect\contentsline {part}%
% {\protect\chapternameToC}{\protect\relax}%

Hyperref and ruled floats

2001-09-27 Thread ben

Hi,

I have a weird behaviour when using hyperref with ruled floats. I know
this is LaTeX stuff but maybe someone can help me (Herbert are you here
;-).

Without hyperref a ruled float appears with three rules, two enclosing
the float an another under the caption. In addition the caption is at
the top of the float, and ragged left. That's what I expect to have.

With hyperref, I have the two enclosing rules *but* the caption is
centered, without rule under it!

Does someone else have the same behaviour, and is there a workaround?

Thanks,

BG

maybe that I have on weekend some time to look, whats
going on in the package.

Thanks. But I knew that. The problem is that what is the point of a pdf file
without all the hyperlinks? Worthless if you ask me.

I would greatly appreciate if you could look at this problem more closely.
My knowledge of LaTeX is nil.

Also note that when you uncomment the \SuspendPrologue at the bottom of the
demo-pre.tex file, hyperref works fine. However, all the preliminary pages
are not printed, and I think that strangely enough then it doesn't quite
follow the thesis.cls layout.

Thanks again,

Herbert,

I found some more information. If I comment out the following lines at the
end of the thesis.cls file then hyperref works out fine, but I don't get
ToC, LoF, or LoT. I hope this helps track out the problem.

Thanks again,

The problem is that thesis.cls uses a non-standard way of creating the table
of contents, and therefore it cannot be used with hyperref.
I don't think that there is a simple solution to the problem.

Thanks. But I knew that. The problem is that what is the point of a pdf file

The errors are:

Herbert,

Thanks. But yes that is what Weiss says in his document:

You'll still need to type in your prologue [see section [sec:prologue]] by
hand and include it into the preamble. I'd recommend putting it all in a
separate text file and using the \input{...} command to include it in the
preamble.
