You will copy the app in to the app folder and then run it. It will then ask
you to set up and you let it do that. then you put in your serial key which can
be found on your cd package.

Take care.

Across the Mac, using VO T will give you font information.

Again this is not just a command for Beam but will work across the Mac.. Having
said that I have just tried it in this mail message and although Voiceover
announced centred when I did it VO T in this instance just gives the font
information so it may not had worked.

I have never used styles with a word processor so I am afraid somebody else wil
have to help you with this.

Re: Help with fonts and styles on Bean

2012-02-05 Thread James AUSTIN
Hi margaret,

I'm afraid i don't use Bean, so I can't answer your specific Bean question, but
here are the answers to your other questions.

> How do you centre text?
On OS X, the command is Command+Shift+Backslash

> How do you find out if text has gott some sort of font, style,,
> centre, bold etc? I mean by this question is thatt in windows you
> can use a shortcut key which tells you if the text is bolded etc.

You can accomplish this in at least two ways:

1. Press VO+V to bring up the VoiceOver Verbosity menu.
2. Press left or right arrow (whichever you prefer), to cycle until you hear
"adjust text attributes".
3. Use the up or down arrow to make your selection and press Enter/Return.

If you've chosen to have VoiceOver speak the text attribute, then you're good
to go. If however you've chosen to play a tone, then do the following to find
out the text attribute:

1. When you hear the tone that signifies the new text attribute, after
interacting with the "edit text" if you've not done so already, press VO+T on
the appropriate word etc and VoiceOver will announce the change.

I hope this is helpful.

Warmest wishes
J

Fusion Driving me Crazy

2012-02-05 Thread Matthew Chao
Hi, Folks. I realize this has been dealt with a few times, but I'm still
having trouble with VmWare Fusion. Two questions:

First, I'm using version 3.x. Can I upgrade to version 4.1, or do I need to go
through version 4 before upgrading to 4.10?

Second, I have the dmg file for 4.10. Do I mount it as a disk image, and/or
how do I open it? Then where do I go from there?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Keyboard Shortcuts for Skype on the Mac

2012-02-05 Thread Sarah Alawami
Actually they work just fine. I find I don't need many keyboard shortcuts as I
can assign them myself through the prefs and customize the way I want skype to
be.. I could even if i wanted to change the cmd shift h to something else. So
just because skype does not have all of these fancy stuff for navigation does
not mean it is not accessible. I use this all the time for communicating with
family and friends and clients when the time comes.

Take care.

Re: back with more questions apple mail

2012-02-05 Thread Laurie Mehta
VO says blank because there is a blank space on the line where the graphic for
unread message would be. This blank means that your message is not an unread
message. If it was an unread message, the line would be read, beginning with
the word unread.

I do not find this to be a problem, personally. To me it means that VO is
reading out all of the information that is available to seeing users. /smile/

cluttered screen in skype

2012-02-05 Thread michael weaver

i am running version 5 of skype on my macbook.
however i appear to get a cluttered screen when i launch it like
all the important stuff seems to be hidden like it is bringing up
html pages on launch so it is like i keep having to stop
interacting, try and locate the table and interact with that and
try and access my contacts by doing something like down arrow to
locate the nearest contact because voiceover doesn't seem to want
to focus.
i notice in previous versions of skype that the cursor would get
stuck in html content after i had been on a call so i would
sometimes have to exit skype altogether in order to get back to
my contacts because shortcut keys wouldn't take me back to the
right screen but it looks like the latest version seems to be a
bit more problematic in this area unless i am doing something
wrong when it comes to focusing on an important part of the
screen in skype with voiceoverddy

Re: editing playlists

2012-02-05 Thread Ian Harrison
Hi,

thanks for the tip about command and l. It sort of works as long as you
uninteract after each instance and then re interact. If you don't do that , the
cursor stays on the last song you went to.
